I used to go to the Ichibon greenspoint location over 10 years ago. I had always wanted to try the other location and I was so glad I did! This location was very clean and has a very nice interior. I came 45 mins until closing, (mountains of traffic this day) but the staff was sweet and kind to make me feel welcome and not rushed. You can choose regular seating or hibachi style seating. I went with regular this time, my regular order at Ichibon is sake bombs with Ichibon beer. Very good highly recommend and please have a designated driver as the sake is strong. Jalapeño rolls are absolutely amazing lightly fried stuffed with salmon, cream cheese and fried tempura shrimp. Ichibon has a special sauce seems soy sauce based but it's absolutely delicious and also a must try. I love ordering all of the appetizers, if you like eel I recommend it's my favorite here. Overall wonderful experience 10 out of 10 high recommend!

Beef vermicelli bowl

The vermicelli bowl was absolutely amazing -- so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced! Everything tasted super clean and delicious. You can tell they use really fresh ingredients. Jonny, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming -- his great service made the meal even better. Definitely coming back soon!

Beef Fried Rice

Yummy! Food came out quick! The service was great! Waitress was nice! It was nice and quiet in there too. Really chill.

How many people are aloud in a hibachi if not in group and are y'all following all covid rules? How many people in a group are you allowing?

We are doing only 50% capacity which is less than recommended 2nd phase of reopening. Customers are NOT allowed to enter the restaurant without masks. If they don’t have masks, we WILL force them to buy it for $0.50 each. As for dining on hibachi,…

Do you have all you can eat sushi?

No, it's not a buffet place

Does this restaurant use/cook with msg?

No MSG.

Food: 4.6/5 Service: 4/5…read moreAmbiance: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.5/5 Even after being to (almost) all of the big AYCE sushi places in this area, Ohayo Sushi is probably still my favorite. Overall, it maintains the best quality from dish to dish and rarely fails to disappoint quality wise (obviously it won't be like a la carte quality, but it is lowkey close). I think their weakest aspect in restaurant quality is actually the service. I do like the use of the iPads to order, but sometimes there are just times where we won't get entire rounds of food until like 30 minutes later. Another issue I have is their soy sauce bottles, which have like a 50% chance to be sticky whenever you pick them up. Lastly, and this is with all the AYCEs, their fish is either a hit or miss on that particular day (personally, I like ordering just a few of each to try for fish quality before ordering like 30 the second round). Enough of the negatives, this is still really great. I love their steak hibachi, which is usually perfectly cooked and tender, offsetting the flavor of sushi after a few rounds. The salmon and fish roe are so addicting and I like enjoying them with the squid, seaweed, and crab salads. The soups are all pretty good and none of them have an off-putting flavor. All of their specialty rolls are so plump and filled. Another thing I like about this place is the ratios of ingredients in their specialty rolls. Other than the fried rolls, I feel as though there's always the perfect amount of rice and wrapper compared to the other ingredients, which is often hard to find in AYCE. This place just has their flavors down really well and is definitely the most well balanced and flushed out AYCE in this area.

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.

To summarize my review before it begins, Masa is now my destination if I am craving sushi and Japanese food. The atmosphere was elegant, which makes it stand out from other surrounding sushi restaurants. We started off with cold sake and Ahi Poké Nachos, which were crispy and delicious. My friend and I split Sushi Combo C, which features 20 pieces of assorted sushi with California and Spicy Tuna rolls. The sushi was very fresh and skillfully made. The Tamago was freshly made with the traditional chopstick method. This was the best sushi I have had since I dined at Nobu in Las Vegas. Our companions had the chicken katsu Bento Boxes because they wanted an assortment of things to try. The tempura battered shrimp and vegetables were lightly crunchy and delicate. After dinner, the four of us had a round of Ninja Drop martinis, which were tangy and sweet. The owner, Michael Zhou (pronounced "zjoe"), came over to say hi. He encouraged us to try one of his favorite items, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular. To finish, we had a couple of bottles of hot sake alongside some yummy mochi ice cream. Our experience was amazing. Our server, Jordan, took great care of us, and we all had a great time. I was looking for an elevated experience, and I got exactly what I was looking for and more. I can't wait to eat here again and try other things on the amazing menu!

This place continues to be my family's top hot pot spot, even after going to many locations in the greater Houston area simply due to the soup bases being so incredibly strong and the selection of ingredients always being top notch. The only things I have food-wise about this place are the following: 1. I think the meat selection is often inconsistent. Sometimes I will order the number 3 and 4 and it'll be really good, and other times it will be hard to eat. 2. I think that the noodle selection is missing like a handmade and hand pulled noodle. The closest thing currently is the lo mein, which I really like, but I'm still wanting more options. 3. Often, the sauce stations will have some empty bottles on the side, which is often inconvenient since I tend to add most if not all to my sauce. Other than that, the service this time was much better and much more on top of it. I will most definitely head back here again and again. Like I said in the beginning, WE ARE SO BACK!

I did try all of the meats and it was a lot of food but every cut was great! Nice open restaurant with plenty of seating and arranged so you feel as if you have your own space. The only reason I dropped it by a star was that there was only one person waiting on a large portion of the guests. She really tried hard and this is not a knock on her. But even though it was a slow night she struggled to keep up at times. I would have given it 4.5 if I had the choice.

Started off with the new Sakani Crudo, and wow, I think I need to order this every time now. I just love the salmon & crab combo. We started with the Salmon Crudo and Scallop Crudo, and both were outstanding. The Salmon Crudo was my absolute favorite. The garlic aioli with the fresh salmon was phenomenal, and the hint of lemon zest tied everything together perfectly. It was one of those dishes where every bite makes you pause because it's just that good. The Scallop Crudo was equally delicious. The tamarind ponzu sauce was incredible--bright, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the sweetness of the scallops. We also ordered the Salmon, Fatty Tuna, Scallop, Tuna, and Lobster hand rolls. Everything tasted exceptionally fresh, but the Lobster Roll stole the show. I couldn't resist dipping it into both the scallop crudo sauce and the garlic aioli from the salmon crudo, and wow... those combinations were absolutely incredible. I may have accidentally created my own perfect bite! What impressed us most was how fresh every piece of fish tasted. Nothing was overly complicated or covered up with heavy sauces. Every ingredient had a purpose, and the quality really spoke for itself. If you're looking for incredibly fresh sushi with creative flavors that enhance--not overpower--the seafood, Koyo is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Texas.
