Been here a few times now while visiting the thrift store in the same complex. I like that they offer a variety of wraps, hot sandwhiches, as well as salads and soups. They have a different special every day written on the large chalkboard wall by the ordering station. They also serve ice cream and cold treats, all made to order. The inside is very clean and tidy, and they also have outside seating. Depending on what time it is it does get very busy with the line going outside. Everything I've gotten there (sandwhiches, salads, wraps, fries) were decent but average. I do think they use alot of processsed meats (cubed chicken, etc) in their items. Being that they are Mennonite run I'd love if they offered more homemade items. On the plus I do like that they use spring mix lettuce in many of their offerings. VERY SLOW SERVICE when it's busy. Ice cream customers seem to be served more efficiently (two staff covering that window). On the other hand, my take-out hot sandwich combo got lost in a very busy shuffle. After an usually long wait, I went back to counter to check on my order. A friendly staff member checked and came back with it immediately. Given that my "hot" sandwich was cool and sweet potato fries cold and limp, my order must have sat undelivered for some time at the grill in the back (out of sight from the front counter). My container came unmarked. No name or identifying receipt was on it. What happened? THIS IS A NICE PLACE staffed by very nice folks. I've been there many times and will go back again; but, the food service is always slow. (I wouldn't be writing this complaint if it was as slow as it usually is.) This time it was VERY SLOW! Understaffed? Inefficient? Who knows? If you order food, make sure that you have the time to wait for it. Good food, but not "fast" food! read more

So glad we live close to this place! Their pulled pork is among some of the best I've tasted. Other favorites include the waffle fries, corn nuggets & the shack burger. And don't forget about the ice! They always have a variety of flavors ranging from the traditional grape, cherry to the more interesting peanut butter, mango & pumpkin pie. My dessert of choice is peanut butter ice with chocolate ice cream gelati. Customer service is great as well! Everyone is always very friendly. both eat in and take out orders are completed in a very timely manner. My wife & I love this place. I, along with most everyone I know, LOVE the Ice Shack. You can eat in (inside or deck), or take out. They have a decent list of items to choose from and it is all prepared deliciously. The corn nuggets, pulled pork, and shack fries (waffle fries loaded with cheese, pulled pork, and scallions) are spectacular! The ice and ice cream is always great as well. They have a large variety of flavors and different sweet treats to choose from. My favorite item on the dessert menu is the Shack Splash. It is any flavor of ice (cotton candy for me) blended with Sprite. You also can't go wrong with a peanut butter and chocolate gelati. 2 scoops of pb ice with some smooth chocolate ice cream in between. My boyfriend loves their lime ice too! The restaurant is clean, and the service is great. Definitely a place to stop if you're in the area and you're looking for a good meal! read more
