We were seated in the 'book corner' and it felt like i was on the set of Harry Potter or something, it was realluy nice and cosy. Me and a friend shared the veggie breakfast, as we were told the breakfast's are the biggest plates they do....yes breakfast at 8pm, when is not a good time to have a good ol fry up? It was alot of food for one person, so i'm glad we shared, they also kindly put all of the items with egg in it on a separate plate so as to not contaminate the rest of it, as i dont eat egg. The vegan ginger and dark chocolate tart was lovely but very rich! I'm glad I ordered a scoop of ice cream to go with it. I quite like dark chocolate as it's not too sweet but friend found it to be very bitter. All in all I would recommend it, and will be visiting again!

Surprisingly our food arrived in 5 mins as it took so long to place the order. It sounded like people were waiting on coffees too so perhaps a few more staff needed for a Sunday lunch? The ciabatta I had was crispy so worked perfectly against the Cajun mayo and avocado, slice of Monteray cheese and buttermilk fried chicken (no one tell the carb police) and a side of sweet potato fries ( charged extra but still cheaper than ordering as a separate side) and coleslaw. I had that with a refreshing st clement - orange juice, fever tree bitter lemon and bitters. I enjoyed the vibe and would return but let's hope the service, toilet paper availability and tidiness of tables improves by then!

Heavenly Desserts was one of the originators of the type of dessert bar that has popped up all over Birmingham in recent years. Starting out in a smaller shop front, they now take up a very large location in Sparkbrook that can seat many. Despite this, the place is packed with queues on the weekend. The wait is managed very professionally by an army of staff members. Once you make it to your seat, a literal bible of sweet goodies awaits. The shop is most known for their outrageous waffles and cookie dough, but it's entirely possible to pop in for some gelato and a coffee. This is exactly what I did while visiting with friends recently, as the cookie dough was tempting but I wanted something smaller. The gelato can be purchased on its own, but it's also a key ingredient in their other dessert dishes. I was hoping for the best based on reviews, but my cookies and creme/chocolate combo was average at best. Given the amount of competition in Brum, the gelato was not up to par with a generic flavour present. The Americano I ordered as my drink was substantial in size, but lacked finesse in its pull, with a bitter, acidic quality. The overall service here is spot on, with our waiter checking on us throughout our visit. Paying was a hassle though, as we had to walk to the back end of the shop and pay at a card kiosk. Speaking of, the prices here are at the upper limit of what you can realistically charge, especially since it's not in city centre. Heavenly Desserts is a nice dessert shop for the most part, but if you are looking for high quality ingredients or a low-mid price point, south Brum has many more options for you.

With clotted cream and jam and fresh strawberries he asked....yes ! I said. Perfect mid morning snack in England. It looked amazing and boy have I missed these . I also got a nice cappuccino made with their mild roast and it was so perfectly brewed. I should be having tea with a scone but I could pass up the freshness of the coffee The scone was delicious, the cream was nice and rich and the jam was not jelly! I loved the fresh strawberries on top too. Ate every bit of this up. The Brit's do scones the best. The cafe was a lovely local place with a nice breakfast menu with basics and some other desserts. Just a lovely place to get a strong brew and a traditional scone! Just what I was looking for.

It is pretty cosy inside but that adds to the charm. As the name suggests the coffee is wonderful as well. I've visited for afternoon tea and cake too which were great value. The business also provides a tea and coffee emporium stocking everything for the caffeine lover. The extra friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you decide on the perfect coffee bean for you and then grind to take away. They also have a car park to the rear which is extremely helpful when driving to Shirely.

The sweets are very varied, from sweet tobacco to gummy dolphins to mint humbugs, weighed in at £1.50 for 100g. Again, a standard price at most sweets shops, so you certainly can't grumble!

Babies would have a great time in the ball pit but unfortunately they aren't the ones who really need entertaining. Any child over two is a little too big for it. The coffee was decent and reasonably priced. The cakes were good although I did note that they were standard Costco editions. Great tasting cakes if you are going for the norm but certainly nothing to make you stand out. The layout and seating worked. My only complaint here would be that the doors were left wide open and we were on a very busy high street. It would take a split second for a speedy toddler to get out onto the road so we had to be extra vigilant - not so relaxing for mums. All in all, I think that this place has made a good effort and I am sure that I will find myself there again.

It needs to be clear how to order an where to stand when its busy. We spent AGES looking at the massive menu. I finally settled on a coldstone creation. In America part of the theatre comes from watching your food created infront of you. But here you are returned to your table and wait for it to be delivered to you. It was pretty great which is why this venue gets 4 stars. This area is pretty busy day or night so I'm not sure if there's a quieter time to park nearby regardless of how busy the venue is.. Although Box Tree's is only contained within a tiny room, this Farm shop packs a great surprise full of eagerly tempting treats. I was especially taken by the store's wide selection of fruit cakes, and couldn't resist purchasing a Mead fruit cake (which is something that I'd never tried before). I'm very glad I bought it, because the flavour was absolutely delicious. There's also a selection cherry cakes and other mouthwatering handmade desserts sold inside, which all equally looked amazing. For an alternative, fresh answer to the supermarket, Box Tree's is definitely the place to stop by. Eggs, jam, spreads, fruit, you name it, they've got it. I also highly recommend the ginger spread they sell here for £2.30, which adds great taste to any toasted breakfast. The only issue I had in the shop was getting someone to serve me. The owner also works in the cafe behind, and jumps from one shop to here when a customer rings the bell. I rang the bell, but unfortunately nobody came for about 10 minutes.
