I had also ordered a beetroot smoothie and was repeatedly asked if i wanted it made with frozen yogurt or soft serve. I wasn't sure what soft serve was so i asked the waiter to explain himself and he just kept saying its soft serve. i had no idea what it was. Then my friend pointed out its like a Mr Whippy van style ice -cream. Why couldn't he just say that? So i chose frozen yogurt. The smoothie was nice but i would prefer to have it with our any frozen yogurt or soft serve. There is a lot of choice with savoury options, a small selection of cakes, lots of different toppings for the pancakes, crepes and waffles. Price wise i think its very expensive. We had 1 Crepe, a small black coffee and smoothie for £14.00. Even for Harborne that is slightly too high, especially when this is aimed more at parents with children. The venue is just up from the Junction and has entrances on both sides (both Vivian and High Street) and is bright, airy and large. One side has a small children's soft play area (to keep the kids busy) and the other has a selection of booths and chairs for visiting groups. After a long look at the selection (which is rather generous to say the least), I opted to go for the (now) legendary "Hello Kitty" mixed with cola millions flavour in a medium tub (£3.40). The gelato is lovely. Light, fluffy and packed full of flavour - it dances on the palate (even when it's long gone). I didn't feel aggrieved at the price for two scoops at all (and if I had, had more of an appetite might have opted for 3). The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. I was offered tasters of different flavours to try before I chose and you could sense that they love their jobs (which is important, especially in the service industry). Shortly after finding a table in the late morning the crowds came in. If you plan on coming with a large group I recommend calling ahead to get reservations. They were serving the breakfast/brunch menu during our seating. I opted for the bacon pancakes. The food is presented just beautifully like the perfect instagram photo. And it tastes just as good. If you are a tea drinker you must order a pot just for the cute factor. All teapots come out dressed in little tea cozys. I wonder if they sell them as they all look homemade. My only complaint is that the food came old on the cold side. Perhaps it was due to how crowded it was, but it was like the food had been sitting out for a while. Regardless it still tasted amazing. I think prices for the Plough are affordable. If you have an Independent Birmingham card you receive a discount so keep that in mind. They have a beer garden out back that must be wonderful on sunny days..if we ever get any. I really want to get back there for lunch or dinner. And maybe try a cocktail if they have any. I loved the cosiness of it, it was perfect for a miserable evening. I liked that it's a traditional 'local' but with the quirky touches you expect from the brand. Think wallpaper featuring geese! I tried a couple of their wonderful hot cider and apple based cocktails. The Hotini was made with vanilla vodka, ginger syrup and hot cider. This would be so lovely on a cold winter day when you're feeling a bit under the weather. These are only £5 too! Food is all very hearty and rich- winter pub classics. Tuesdays are pie night and they are very proud of their pies. I'm not a pie person but I enjoyed the ocean pie and game pie- both very well seasoned and served with lovely mash and green veg. As well as pies, they have some lovely sounding sharer boards, fish dishes and an excellent vegetarian curry. This is definitely added to my list of places to pop into when I'm in Harborne!

Arriving we were greeted and seated in five minutes, not too bad for a weeknight... expect a longer wait at the weekend. Our waitress was nice and friendly. Didn't pressure for a quick choice and wasn't over the top (as most people expect TGI staff to be). Food was great, arrived quickly and tasted amazing. It is expensive at TGI Fridays. But I think generally you get what you pay for. The carpark is a little on the dark side, the spaces a bit narrower than the standard as well.

The waiter was helpful and attentive. The cuisine is Southeast Asian. I ordered the jackfruit and rambutan red curry and chicken ho fun. Both dishes were delicious and well seasoned. I have no complains during my experience and time here. Every factor from the list I consider important when eating in a restaurant (food, service, price, location, décor, and other random factors depending on how I feel on my day) was checked. This is the perfect restaurant to have dinner whenever you want to impress friends or that special someone, or you just want to feel posh even though you aren't. Highly recommended.

Despite the low prices, it seems like they are trying to create a 'fine dining' experience-- during dinner service the staff check on you, plate your food for you, place the napkins on your lap, etc. I have found the service to lag a bit though, although it seems more like they are trying to give you space than anything else-- it was easy enough to flag someone over if we needed anything. All in all, delicious well-priced curries in Harborne.

As far as food, we ordered some garlic dough balls which came with a wonderful jalapeño cheese sauce. I liked the sauce so much that I ordered a meal with it. The potato skins were pretty good. There was one favour with pulled pork that was well worth the calories! As for a main, I had a baked wrap with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese sauce and bbq sauce. Also came with a strange salad and a sad serving of coleslaw. What bothered me here was the wrap was baked with the veggies. So the lettuce and tomatoes were boiling hot and soggy. I started with the seasonal cocktail -apple and cinnamon with grand mariner. Tasty but nothing special-I'm spoilt these days! Our meal was a set five courses, which I found out by phoning up to ask. However, when we were eventually seated and asked if we wanted the wine flight to go with the meal, I asked if I could see the wine list and the menu too first-thought that was a little odd. We sat for a good while and initially we felt a little forgotten about. Nevertheless once the food started coming it was great. I don't think I would have chosen half of it, but it's good to try new things, especially when you know the chef! We chose a nice bottle of Austrian red which went surprisingly well with each course. I try and find a space amongst whilst a. not marking my car and b. not hitting any number of the very expensive cars parked here on a week day lunchtime. You can imagine the food in a Michelin star restaurant and of course that's subjective but almost always will get 4 stars from me anyway. For a closet vegetarian (not a huge meat eater) I don't always get on with most Michelins because of their French influence and therefore little or no vegetarian menu. So I often end up having fish as a starter and main course as I did here, as wonderful as it was. The other issue is the desserts tend to be chocolate or fruit based neither of which I am a fan of either but I they bought out a sorbet/ice cream concoction for me. The food as you would expect is perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth goodness. However, to me that's about 60% of the experience, the rest is the service. From the minute I walked in, I a guided to the sofa and offered a drink and then bought into the lounge to await my dining partner. After choosing from the menu, we are effortlessly taken to our table with a view and our knowledgeable and friendly waiter brings our starters promptly. The bill goes over the £100 mark for two but even if it's not your thing, I feel it it's worth doing at least once.

This was not stated in any policy on the website or app. When I explained my situation, the driver hung up on me. I sent a text requesting a refund but received no response. When I contacted customer service, I spoke with Ashe, who informed me that Big John has a verbal policy in place that drivers cannot go upstairs or enter the building. However, this policy was not stated on the website or app. After placing another order for cash delivery, I was informed by Ashe that the driver would not come upstairs. Despite explaining that I have a disability that makes it difficult for me to go downstairs, Ashe gave me a five-minute ultimatum and threatened to blacklist me. This behaviour constitutes a breach of the 2010 Act on Harassment/victimization. As a customer with a disability, I feel that I was not treated with the same consideration as able-bodied customers. Ash was very clear that failure to come downstairs would result in being blacklisted. This made me feel victimized and pressured, especially as the driver only gave me two minutes to get downstairs, which was virtually impossible due to my disability. Despite explaining my situation, the driver continued to call me multiple times, putting a lot of pressure on me. This mistreatment has led me to seek legal advice. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it downstairs in the given time frame, as I was struggling with the stairs. I regret to inform you that the food I received was lukewarm and not hot, which made it almost cold. I was disappointed with the experience and felt mistreated. As evident from my history, I am a frequent patron of your services. However, I must bring to your attention that the driver assigned to my recent delivery has constant pressure to get downstair. Ahh Big John's... That familiar warmth that washes over me as I see the pink on green colour…read morescheme, and the way that the words 'Famous Five' makes me think of chicken nuggets rather than Enid Blyton perhaps says a lot about my relationship with Birmingham's fast food institution. My relationship with Big John's on the Bristol Road went from a curious first meeting at the outlet opposite the Vauxhall Garage beyond Millenium Point, to a passionate few months of indulgence following a move to Selly Oak (The Bristol Road Big John's stood between my house and the train station as a constant temptation). Following dieting and vegetarianism, we're not really on speaking terms at present, sadly. Perhaps the best reason to visit Big John's on the Bristol Road lies in its rivalry with Pizza Pepper next door, which has led to an outrageous price war between both establishments, slashing pizza prices to less than 50% (In real terms, a massive 12" pizza from Big John's is a steal at £4.99). While Pizza Pepper's pizzas are less drenched in grease, Big John's has a small advantage by letting customers pick as much of their own toppings as they'd like. For example, my usual would be cheese, pepperoni, jalapenos, chinese chicken, regular chicken, red onions, peppers, mince, a second layer of cheese and a top layer of pepperoni - ONLY in that order. While the shame of struggling home with such a large box past masses of people waiting for busses might hurt for a while, the dinner (and following breakfast of leftovers) will be well worth the while. Besides pizza, Big John's covers a large variety of chip shop regulars, peri-peri chicken, kebabs, kid's meals and even paninis. These are all mostly inexpensive, with the 'Famous Five' deal in Selly Oak remaining an old favourite. When I moved to Selly Oak two years ago, a fairly small - but still generous - portion of six chicken nuggets and chips, a slice of pizza and chips, a donner meat burger, one piece of chicken and chips or four hot wings and chips were all available for £1 each, which proved to be a very tempting proposition at first. Following two jumps in price to £1.25, then £1.50 a few weeks ago, it remains a good deal but is less likely to make me count my change in the street like it used to. Perhaps over-indulgence has overshadowed my relationship with the Big John's in Selly Oak, but it continues to open new stores and keep customers happy with a large and often pretty tasty menu, so it must be doing something right.

With so many great-tasting and reasonably-priced Indian food options around, it is quite impressive that a higher end, pricier Indian restaurant like Pushkar has established a loyal clientele. Pushkar sets itself apart from other Indian restaurants in the area due to its upscale setting, the high quality of its food ingredients, and especially its creative dessert offerings. My first dining experience at Pushkar was purely by chance. I was staying near Brindley Place, and happened to be walking past the restaurant, when I decided to stop and check out the menu. The duck masala sounded interesting, so I decided to try it, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The thick tomato-based curry had a fantastic flavor profile that consisted of garlic, ginger, black pepper and red chilies. It paired well with basmati rice and a side of raita. Since my first visit, I have dined at Pushkar a few more times, and have always enjoyed everything I have tried. The murgh korma stands out as a rich, creamy, nutty curry dish that is perfect for you if you are in the mood for something less spicy. The innovative desserts at Pushkar are a major draw for me. The gajar ka halwa tart with pistachio ice cream is my personal favorite. The garam masala brulee sounded interesting, but didn't taste too different from regular crème brulee; the garam masala in it was really only a hint of cinnamon. It still was pretty tasty. The chocomosa is a filo samosa filled with chocolate and roast almonds, and is served with a scoop of cappuccino ice cream. Why had nobody else ever thought of creating a chocolate samosa, and if they did, why had I never eaten one before? Friends, if you find yourselves in Brummy, you must treat yourselves to a meal at Pushkar. It is truly deserving of all of the awards that have been bestowed upon it, including the 2015 British Curry Award, the 2015 Best of Broad Street Award, and the 2015 English Curry Award.
