From ice creams to cakes to hot drinks to milkshakes, these are some of the things you can have at Ice Delight. So if ever you fancy something cold to eat or drink after lunch, you might want to come here. The one time I came here, I had a chocolate milkshake and it was fantastic. It was so good I decided to have another one. That does sound crazy but that's how good it was. I would come back just for that. The staff at Ice Delight are very friendly and they are a great bunch of people to talk to. You can definitely have a conversation with them and you can literally talk to them about anything.

I love the way it is so sweet and cold, yet it fills you up like inside and makes you happy. This shop has gelato, the Italian favourite which is similar to ice cream but contains less dairy fat. I went for the raspberry flavour, and it was something to write home about. That's why I have come on to Yelp. They have a large selection of ice creams to take away or just devour on the premises, the flavours are all delicious, mostly traditional, and a few of them are creations from the minds behind the shop. I love the mint iced cream they serve here. I have always been a fan. Many people dislike minty chocolate goodness, but for those that appreciate it I would say that this is some of the best you are likely to taste.

There was a lot of excitement locally, awaiting the opening of Moochie B's and they have not dissapointed us. As a big fan of all things sugary, I knew this was somewhere I would have to visit, particularly as it's a 5 minute walk from where I work and the fact the interior is pink! Inside there's a kind of American Diner feel, which I love. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Everyone who knows me knows that customer service is VERY important to me and again I was not dissapointed here. I also love the fact that this is a family run business. I heard on the grapevine that the manager/owner went to Italy to train to make gelato! Talking to him, it's clear he has a passion for it and was happy to discuss how the gelato was made and new flavours he was exploring. I asked about whether he would be doing diary free ice cream and was told that he was experimenting with this, but would also be offering sorbet at some point too. This made me VERY happy. The milkshakes seem particularly popular, but on my most recent visit, I had a fresh made waffle and gelato. Strawberries and cream come as standard, although I did not partake. The gelato was so creamy and full of flavour and the waffle was huge, so I was a very happy person.

Easily noticable from distance than the previous one which was very small shop. Looks amazing and posh-like from outside. So I knew things were different in this new place. There wasn't a line when went there and had few of our friends inside waiting for us at a table. Biggest change I noticed was space and the staff. There are lots of staff inside and all in uniform. Interior design is pretty sleek. It's hard to believe this place is in Ladypool Road. Should be somewhere in city centre or broad street because many people should try this place. You'd think there would be lack of customers but walking out in the end there was a huge line outside. The previous place was popular and many people were suggesting a bigger place, but from what I saw they might need even bigger place. They're extending the back to add more capacity to this place. Still in development, so soon would hold more people. Obviously Heavenly Desserts are good at what they do and quite popular. I just ate before coming here and didn't want go for big dessert or waffle (the regular I get). Got crepe which comes with strawberries, scoop of vannila ice cream and strawberry sauce. I figured crepe would be light and small, how wrong I was. Was biggest crepe I had. Anyways It was delicious and place was buzzing. Everyone seemed to be having great time with their friends. It does get a little noisy but we sat in a big group section so it's to be expected. The two main staff (manager and assitant I think) were amazing and polite. The assitant manager was polite when showing people to their seats and as we were leaving, he was outside talking to the kids who were in line with their parents. That's awesome, and the whole experience from stepping in to the end was amazing. So gets 5 Stars from me. Try get yourself down here sometime. They do variety of deserts. The menu book is big....like Lord of the Rings big. Note: if you going with a group, call a day or 2 early to avoid waiting in line.

They brought wrong orders to both my friend and myself, argued that we had ordered wrong and it wasn't them. Therefore we were then expected to pay extra for their till staffs mistakes! They think waffle pattern wafers are waffles! The only polite member of staff was the busboy Conner. I did enjoy the fruit smoothie drink I had, but that was the only redeeming thing. They also only have one toilet in the whole place, which was dirty and didn't have any toilet paper!! All in all a bad experience to never be repeated. I found them to be a very poor imitation of Sprinkles in London. I don't recommend the place at all and was left sorely disappointed after expecting better. An update I have been back twice since my first visit, not by choice of my own. But thought I would add notes about those experiences also. Sadly nothing much has improved from my first visit, the second time we were seated downstairs - it was dirty and smelly. My third and final visit, we ended up queueing outside, people were pushing in and when we did get inside on a very cold day mid winter the staff turfed everyone out again - once finally seated the atmosphere and volume was horrendously loud, people screaming and shouting across the shop. And now that customers are made to queue at the counter to order and pay, there are two lots of queues in an already very narrow cramped shop, which meant that people were knocking into us as we sat waiting for our drinks. Even after we moved across the booth to be further away we had people knocking the table and some cheeky individuals taking a seat or putting their belongings down on our seats or the table!! NEVER again will I visit this vile establishment, hygiene seemed to have got worse staff don't care and the noise level is intolerable. With the volume of people passing through their doors - mainly children teens and young adults, I'm surprised the business hasn't been shut down by safety health and hygiene inspections.

I really, really wanted to love Dolce Lounge. After being recommended I visit by a business…read morecontact, I had a quick look online to get some information. I discovered that the Cafe is a Independent venue set up by two Aston University Graduates to try and encourage more of a "Cafe Culture" in Birmingham. They have obviously put in a lot of work and hard graft to get it started, but it's just not there... yet. The little venue is based at the top of Corporation Street (passed the Law courts). It looks reasonably appealing from the outside (although the neon words listing it's wares does seem to cheapen the exterior), but I don't think it would drag you in unless you knew what was being offered. The first thing that caught me was the selection of Gelato. So many different flavors are on offer here, from Bubble Gum to Cheesecake your more traditional Chocolate flavored treat. The cakes also looked amazing! Beautiful, delicate and definitely sinful! As I am trying to eat healthy at the moment, I managed to avoid these temptations and just ordered a Red Berry tea (I tried for Peppermint, but they were out). I asked if I could sit around for a bit and do some work and was told I could sit downstairs (there are small tables designed for two) or upstairs where there is more room. I plumped for upstairs. The cafe has a lovely print of venice as wallpaper on the upstairs (obviously, again to put you in mind of the cafe culture). When I went up there, there were three other groups of people. Two of them were studying and one group was just... hanging out and having a chat. It all seemed quite nice... until someone decided that everyone needed to listen to rap... quite loudly. Now, I am not a fan of rap music at the best of times, but listening to a man shout at me whilst I'm trying to enjoy a nice cup of tea and get on with some work is not ideal. It was eventually turned down a touch, but the music seemed at odds with the relaxed, classy vibe the cafe was trying to create. That all being considered, I would pop back and give it another go. The cake and gelato are too much of a draw not to try this venue again. I only paid around £1.75/£1.85 for my cup of tea, so the prices seem about right. I didn't ask the prices of the desserts, but I will update next time...

I decided to remedy that after drinking a Faculty coffee here, using the cafe as overflow seating during a particularly busy time. I was entranced by the variety and looks of the food, and have eaten lunch there three times this week to ensure that their awesomeness is consistent. I'm happy to report that Sixteen Kitchen & Bakery is one of the most delicious and affordable sandwich shops in the city centre. Sixteen is the brainchild of the owners of Faculty, and supplies the coffee shop with their delectable desserts. The shop is joined with Faculty by an open wall, so you can easily order something from one or both and sit in either location. Whereas Faculty uses a bar and two seater table arrangement, Sixteen's seating is entirely on two long tables. This is perfect for large groups or office team lunches (I've seen a lot of work being done here) but can get cramped otherwise. In addition to making desserts for Faculty, the kitchen & bakery serves breakfast and lunch until the late afternoon. I haven't made it to Piccadilly Arcade early enough for breakfast (stops at 11AM), but lunch is good enough to make it a regular mid-day stop. I've ordered the kimchi and cheddar toastie, as well as the basil, pesto, tomato, and mozzarella ciabatta, and most recently the vegemite and avocado sandwich. The kimchi is homemade of course and has a nice balance between heat and actually enjoying the flavours of it. Good luck finding kimchi that tastes this good elsewhere in Birmingham! The ciabatta was done up right and while not blowing away my tastebuds, hit all the right notes. The vegemite and avocado with tomato and mature cheddar was pretty much what you would expect. Like marmite, you either love it or hate it! All of the sandwiches are made fresh daily and packaged on the counter for hygiene. Upon selection, they are placed in a press for finishing. The menu is not set, changing every few days depending on bread (from Peel & Stone) and produce (from the Bullring Open Market). Sandwiches hover around the £4 mark and are a great value especially for the larger ones. For an extra £1 you can add salad to your meal as a side. My only complaint at this point is the lack of beverages. Sixteen makes fresh pressed juices for £3.50 and that's it. If you want anything else, you'll have to head next door to Faculty (although tap water is free). They could do with adding some flavoured/sparkling waters or other canned/bottled drinks. Overall Sixteen is a wonderful addition to the independent businesses of Piccadilly Arcade and contender for best sandwich shop in Brum.

The store does have limited seating due to its small confines. The menus changes every day and are put up on the wall behind the counter using a sharpie and ripped up sheets of paper. They generally specialise in sandwiches and soups but also sell cakes or pastry to compliment. If you wanted a coffee to match their is a door leading through to faculty from the store side. On this occasion is purchased a toasted sandwich which was halloumi, pesto and basil on sour dough. It tasted absolutely great, the sandwich was toasted perfectly. The correct portioning meant flavours were great and not overpowering. It cost £4 which I think is very reasonable considering quality. If your waiting for a train or just need a quick lunch sandwich I would recommend sixteen kitchen!
