I've been going to the ice cream station forever and always loved their ice cream. Earlier this week I stopped by for a quick come when I was driving by. There was a customer in front of me with adorable kids that were getting ice cream. When the woman behind the counter, who was not wearing gloves, finished with the customer in front of me took the customer's cash and made change - with bare hands. She then turned to me and asked what I wanted. I asked her if she could put gloves on she told me they do not have them. She said she washed her hands after making change - that was a lie. I have passed by this place many times. Finally, I decided to give it a try. I got the frozen yogurt with no sugar added. It didn't taste like frozen yogurt at all but more like a sugar-reduced frozen custard. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the worker seemed to be too busy to try to help me with my order. I have ordered 3 cakes from them and have been very satisfied and impressed by the range of artistry. First time was last August for my engagement/birthday party. We ordered two cakes, one ice cream with my face - I can't imagine how long it takes to draw with icing! And a regular vanilla cake for the engagement (see pictures below). If you know me at all, you know cold weather will not keep me away from ice cream. I had a random craving for a treat on a snowy evening and my SO recommended I try Ice Cream Station. I'm always happy to visit a different place for ice cream and this location did not disappoint me. We were able to get street parking close to the building, there were also plenty of spots around after 7pm. My SO was excited to get their Reese's Blizzard dupe, but the person at the counter informed us their machines "just broke." As luck would have it, this happened right before our arrival, but we expect nothing less because it's so us. The machines were being taken apart to be repaired, but we wanted to order and get going. I chose a small cup of peanut butter twirl, which was delicious. The texture and flavor of my ice cream knocked it out of the park, while my SO enjoyed a milkshake. The portion sizes were also very fair for the prices, so I was happy with that. I will return at some point, hopefully while the machines are fully functioning. read more

As I'm next in line after waiting a while and only have one more person in front of my ordering, one of the girls comes from inside and escorts a Caucasian lady behind me inside and they take her ice cream order and she's done and gone by the time I'm up to order. I hear my two kids crying and my mom and sister inside while my husband and I are in line outside and patiently wait. The owner once I get to the window rudely asks me " if that group is with me and if I'm ordering" and I said yes that he said we could eat inside but I had to order outside. He was annoyed and left. Once I was done ordering I tried to asked multiple times if I could go inside and wait for my ice cream. They ignored me, then they make me pay and said I had to come inside to get the ice cream. It was frustrating and they were very rude and almost like they didn't want my business. I was polite and didn't get snappy with them even when I saw they gave special treatment to the lady behind me who didn't even wait more than 2 min while I wait almost 15min in line. A friend of mine recently moved to the area and we were in the mood for some ice cream. She knew the exact place to take me. We took about a five minute walk over to this adorable location. They have a wide variety of flavors and also offer Italian ice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for some of our dietary restrictions. They have Gifford's hard serve which is very good. The soft serve is to watery and lacks the custardy texture of nearby curleys. The setting is the real issue here as they have a great outside area on the corner, but the inside was really dirty the 2 times I have been inside. Plus, they sell deli stuff in a case right next to where you order ice cream. Kind of gross to look at pasta salad and tuna salad as you are planning to order some great Gifford's PB Chocolate. read more

For the most part this is your typical mom and pop ice cream shop though oddly enough it's also a deli. In addition to the soft and hard ice cream (hard ice cream is Gifford's brand) they also have home made ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes, and even frozen chocoloate covered bananas and cheesecake. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly. I loved that their large soft serve on a cone was legitimately large. The small building and town really add to the place's charm.
