Sweets Shop by the water in Edgartown [Martha's Vineyard MA] This is a cute little shop both inside and outside. It actually looks like a house with horizontal wooden siding (they call them clapboard houses). The backside has benches where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream with views of the waterfront. This is your one stop shop for your sweet tooth. Their 2023 season opened on May 5th. How fortunate that we were able to support! Their candy shelves are well stocked. They have candies of all sorts, truffles and chocolates, and, of course, ice cream! Coffee ice cream for the hubby and chocolate chip for me. So creamy and delicious with lots of chocolate chip flakes. Nom-nom-nom! Of course, when available, I always get milk chocolate peanut clusters. One of my favorite chocolate to munch on. It's odd that such an institution on MV only has 13 reviews! One of us has been coming here since she was a kid and this spot really is a family favorite. it's not as famous as Mad Martha's (which has gone DOWNHILL, esp. the Oak Bluffs location), but it is so sweet and charming in its own way. No frills, no fuss--just a lil ice cream institution by the water. We came here after dinner a few nights ago with some family and everyone enjoyed their sweet treat. Our daughter got cotton candy which looked too disgusting even to taste, but we loved the black raspberry oreo and the peanut butter caramel swirl we each got on cones. The ice cream was a *bit* too melty but the flavor is definitely there. They've also got old school candies and junky kind of stuff for the kids (like stick-on earrings that we got suckered into buying). Yes, it's a bit pricey, but at least the quality is there and the staff is friendly. Four happy stars and we'll be back again next year, like always. read more

my family loved this ice cream shop! they've got ice cream, candy, chocolate and plenty of souvenirs. we got the mint ice cream - it was delicious. there's a huge variety of flavors and toppings. portions are generous. only one con: cash only. service was efficient and servers were friendly. the shop is very small so it can sometime be hard to find where the line begins and ends. there's outdoor seating behind the shop with great views of chappaquiddick and the water. overall rating: 8/10 read more

We came here for ice cream but was able to browse some of the candy offered. What a nostalgic adventure. Some of the candy are ones I haven't seen since my youth! Of course, the price was crazy high but hey, you're probably on vacation and can splurge a bit if you are on the Vineyard. As for the ice cream, I got a Waffle Cone with Moose tracks scoop and a Heath bar crunch frozen yogurt scoop. Absolutely delicious and super creamy ice cream. I'm usually not a fan of getting ice cream from a parlor since it is often priced up and you don't get too much bang for your buck. I will say, the price of 2 scoops was similar to other places where you'd otherwise get one scoop. The flavors I tried were excellent and the staff were friendly. It is so interesting how easily missed this shop can be because it just blends in so well with the rest of the buildings. Definitely a must try if you are feeling something sweet! read more

We were recommended to check out this ice cream shop by one of our waiters at dinner. He said that the ice cream is just as delightful, and that you get to eat it without the hour long wait that Mad Martha's had. This being my first night on the vineyard, I decided to take some local advice, and choose the road less taken. The Ice Cream & Candy Bazaar is super small inside, but a precious little building. It makes me wonder what this building used to be back in the day...because it's located right on the docks. There are shelves of candy in jars, where your sugar loving friends can make mixed bags out of their favorite novelties. On the other side of the store are the ice cream servers. The store has about 20 different ice creams, and they are more than happy to let you taste them. I tried the peppermint stick, as well as the chocolate peanut butter. Both were delightful, but the first choice won. The serving size was average, which my waistline will appreciate, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. $4.50 for a small ice cream, about $5.00 for a large. The building is small, a bit crowded, and doesn't really have a system of who orders, but everyone is pleasant because they are getting their sweetie :) Enjoy, avoid the lines, eat drink and be merry! read more

Loved their death by chocolate flavor! It was any chocolate lovers dreams. Brownie bits, chocolate chunks and chocolate drizzle (oh my!). And a plus, at least for me, was that they actually did kiddie sized scoops. Every place we went to would serve huge scoops for a small. So it was nice to have a smaller portion that was easier to finish. read more

I love ice cream, and no flavor more than rum raisin. So when the shop owner suggested to me the frozen pudding, which sounded like some bizarre New England amalgamation of rum raisin and tutti-frutti, I was hesitant. I shouldn't have been--it was absolutely delicious. My fiancée had a black raspberry with chunks of brownie swirled into it that was just as good. I was a frequent customer until yesterday. I came to town from Katama specifically to pick up some ice cream and candy for my nephews that are visiting the island. I walked in to the shop and it was empty of customers and there were three youngish ladies behind the counter. I waited for them to notice me, two of the girls looked at me and kept talking. So I said excuse me, they kept talking. At this point I asked, "Is the store open or are you not serving anyone?" Still nothing. So I walked out. As I was walking out a lady was walking in. I said in passing, "They aren't serving anyone, or maybe it's just me" and what do you know, she walks out before I meet up with my friend with her purchase in hand. Fantastic customer service on an island where customer service is rarely top notch. We go there all the time. The crew is always patient and polite as our too young children make their selections. We take all of our friends to this overflowing shop. Everyone in the group will find something they love: fudge, ice cream, freshly made cookies, handmade waffle cones, and candy, candy, candy! For those opposed to sweets, the back corner is part toy store. You'll find Usborne Activity books, stuffies, and trinkets. read more
