I love the vibe and service over there!! The bread is very cheap and really affordable! Everything is vegan or vegetarian I believe so it's really vegan vegetarian Come and enjoy Cheers

Located in the Dynasty Plaza, I Bun Bakery specializes in vegan and vegetarian baked goods and food. They had fresh baked goods in the middle table, dried and packaged goods along the walls, and cooked food on the shelves. This place is also pretty popular for their Asian cakes and had samples at the front counter to view. Prices are decent and there were quite a few options to choose from.

BBQ pork bun - the sesame seeds on top were a nice touch.

We stopped by here today on a whim; after eating at a place nearby, we took a short walk inside the old Dynasty Plaza mall, since my husband has childhood memories of the dojo that used to be there. IBUN is in the small part of the mall space that still has stores, and it's small but inviting - a chalk sign outside says everything is Vegetarian or Vegan. We only picked up a baked vegan pork bun this time - to split, since my husband's watching his carb intake - but not only was the quality great, it was an absolute steal at just $1.50. The bread is incredibly soft and light, and vegetarian "pork" filling is extremely convincing in both taste and texture - it's tender and not too chewy, and just a little oily, like real pork would be. And they don't skimp on it, either - the filling goes all the way to the edge. Next time we're in the area we'll definitely come back and try more things, but if first impressions are important, IBUN left an excellent one. We'll be sure to keep this in mind, especially if our family members with allergies to eggs and milk are in town.

This is my favorite bakery ever! Every time I'm in Bellaire, I make sure to go here. When you arrive to the mall, you'll have to go nearby the escalators on the first floor to reach IBUN. There's some seating if you'd like to eat there. The differences between vegetarian and vegan dishes are the V. Everything here is vegetarian, and everything marked with V is vegan. I always get my birthday parties catered by IBUN because their savory and sweet food is wonderful! It's loved by my vegetarian, vegan, and non-veggie family and friends alike. Be sure to take a look at the bakery stand, shelves on the left, the two refrigerators adjacent to the register, and the freezer on the right past the seating! They have a drink menu too. Their prices are so wonderful, and I've been a customer here for years. It's such a wonderful family owned bakery. The customer service is always kind!

I went on a hunt for vegan desserts near me and iBun popped up. I noticed all the 5 star reviews and decided to give it a chance. Generally, I am a fan of Asian bakeries (red bean anything); however, I was concerned that I would not be able to decipher any of the offerings there because it is located in China Town and I noticed in the pictures much of the wording is in Chinese/Mandarin. Good news though, most of the items have been translated into English. If not, the wonderful staff will take their time to explain to you what it is. I was informed that everything with a "V" on it is actually vegan, woo-hoo! I bought the taro mochi, blueberry jam pastry, and vegan strawberry cake. All of which are marked as vegan. Taro mochi - this was made on the spot for me. It was pretty good. I preferred the filling the most. However, I do not think the mochi had enough time to rest and chill since it was made to order. B Vegan strawberry cake - it was frozen when I bought it. The staff recommended I let it thaw for an hour, but that some guests like it frozen because it tastes like ice cream. I tried to consume it frozen but it was inedible. The strawberries were just too hard. After thawing an hour, it was still unpleasant to eat. After several hours, it was now edible. I enjoyed the cream filling, but wished the strawberries were cut smaller. They were just halved. The cake itself is like a shortbread. It really needed more filling or some type of sauce. C+ Blueberry jam pastry - I was informed that the blueberry jam is made in-house and this is a popular item. I understand why this item is popular. By far the best item I had that day. It was fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. I would definitely buy this again. A The sweet staff also explained to me their lunch boxes and that it is best to call in and order in advance because they are made to order and take about 20 minutes to prepare. The parking lot gets full, so plan accordingly but a great place to get vegan desserts and savory bites as well.

The food here is really good and everything that's vegan is labelled with a "v" on the tag. Every item I've tried has been delicious! I really enjoyed the turtle mochi with the red bean filling and the bbq "pork" buns. So good! It's a blessing and a curse it's far from me because I'd eat there everyday whivh would probably be too much.

Recommend? Yes!!! This place had the Vietnamese pastry I've been missing a lot. It's a bun that has a hint of sweetness, "pork" floss on top, and the creamy green onion oil (?) It truly was a treat as a vegan. I also got the sweet cream pastry. I found the cream was very sweet and the pastry a bit on the dry side for this particular one.

My o my! Phenomenal Taiwanese baked goods, tons of delicious vegan options! I am beyond grateful that my wife found this joint! This is definitely one to put in the books for routine visits! We took home frozen vegan wontons, put them in pho, along with steamed & pan-fried! The baked goods were fresh, and the prices are excellent! Can't wait to go back! COVID Notes -Social distance & masks required. -Customer service was delightful, safe, and helpful -Ordering was effortless & smooth -No issues at all. Thank you, IBun Bakery, for all of the Vegan Options!

    IBUN is inside the mall!

Oh my goodness. Vegetarians and vegans REJOICE! We have IBUN and all will be well again. I have been wanting to check IBUN bakery out for a while after reading other Yelpers' reviews. I finally got myself to brave the traffic and crazy parking lots and it was so worth it. IBUN is located inside the mall, so if you're using Google Maps...map to Ding Tea and walk inside the mall once you park. Holy moly, let's talk about their LUNCH SPECIALS. Hello?! Who gets $6 lunch boxes anymore? No one. Except those of us who have discovered the beauty that is IBUN. I got some breads and was excited to try their oyster pancake. However, the kind cashier man said that it'd take around 15 minutes. I didn't have the time to wait, so I went with their faux minced pork over rice dish. It was SO GOOD. It tasted honestly just like rou zhao fan. I was shook. It really was authentic Taiwanese bento food. I can't wait to come back and try their other vegetarian dishes like smoked duck and BBQ pork. I love that everything was so affordable, and you can get everything that might remind you of Taiwan...from their milk teas to little mooncakes and breads to lunch items. Score! Pro Tip: There were two popo cars parked in the lot. It's nice to know that there are patrol cars in the parking lot, just in case you decide to go in for a meal or if you're shopping for a while.

$1.00 for sponge cake. Not overly sweet and very fluffy!

Since discovering IBUN Bakery, I've already been back 5+ times (lost count). I have my favorites and not-so favorites. Here's a review of the items tried: FAVORITES: Sponge cupcake: Soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet, this is a MUST MUST MUST. I find myself dreaming about this sponge cupcake and this is the reason I keep going back. Taro Pineapple bun: Taro filling is moist and not overly sweet which goes perfectly well with the sweet, soft pineapple bun. Another MUST. The only problem is that it isn't always available Red bean pineapple bun: Another delicious bun. I would have liked it better if the red bean paste was a bit less sweet, but still very good and would definitely get it again. My not-so favorites: Peanut bun: SUPER DRY. I needed water to wash it down otherwise could barely swallow it. Other reviews have raved about this one, but that was not my experience. I want to say that I got an old batch from their unsold stock from previous day(s). Curry bun: Bleh. I've had my share of faux meat, but there is nothing faux about the "meat" in this one, it tastes exactly like soy. Not a fan. The curry flavor was just ok. Ended up tossing. Matcha swiss roll with red bean + cream filling: Matcha flavor tasted artificial. Nothing spectacular. Didn't finish. While IBUN does has some delicious items, I've had my share of failures here too. My advice is to get the sponge cake and stick to the pineapple bun series, other items are try-at-your-own-risk. But good thing items are all around $1-$3, so not a huge gamble to try new items, as you may find your next favorite bun!

This place is seriously a hidden gem! I personally love Asian bakeries. And visit Chinatown all of the time. And now that I'm vegan I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy their baked goods. Then I find out about this place in Dynasty Plaza. Right next to H Mart. Like seriously, H Mart is just over the road which I found shocking because I'm always in H Mart! Anyway the prices are very reasonable and match non vegan bakeries in the area. A nice small place with a lot of options. I bought the curry and custard bun. And oh my gosh. I left the vicinity, ate the curry bun and had to go back! Like it was the best bun I've ever had! It made me question is this really vegan the entire time. Because I was in utter disbelief. I wanted to go back right after finishing it to buy another. I didn't go. But I will be back next week for sure. For the curry bun and something new.

You order online hosted by hot plate and pick up at your scheduled time/date at their house. I ordered it but someone else picked up around 2 hours later. You get an automated text when it's ready and you text when you're there. For special requests, you can call/text the number as well; he was pretty helpful and responsive and mentioned to my brother in law that he personally made sure everything had no alliums at pick up. As a note: my family consists of allium-free vegetarians (with one vegan) so we asked ahead of time what our options were before we went for it. He (I really should have gotten his name) gave us a list of rolls that could be made allium free and we chose from them so you could say they do have an allium free menu upon request. We pretty much got almost everything on his list. For 5 adults, we ordered a total of 10 rolls: LOW-KEY LOKI (2) CLASSIC SPICY TUNAH (2) NIKCO ROCK N ROLL SPICY MAMI, HOT TAMALE SPICY DRAGON FIRECRACKER (2) When we opened the boxes, it turns out that he included an extra roll of SPICY MAMI, HOT TAMALE as well as a small container of seaweed salad which I thought was really nice of him! Or maybe we spent too much or there's some buy 10 rolls get 1 free promotion I was unaware of, haha. It was an unexpected surprise. I also have 2 kids but one has multiple food allergies and the other one is picky. She wanted a sweet potato roll, but it's not on the menu so we rolled up some seaweed rice rolls for them ahead of time so they weren't left out. I didn't bring up my kids because we wanted to ease in with the allium free request and go from there. Plus, one of the food allergens is avocado and that was found in almost every roll. On that note, there's an option to make it gluten-free on each item's page, which is pretty awesome. There's also an option to use soy paper instead of seaweed and to add extra ingredients at additional cost. My family shared everything so my plate was a mix and I honestly lost track of what I was eating at the time for personal notes. But honestly? Everything was delicious. Sushi was the last thing I gave up before becoming vegetarian and I'm picky with the sushi I eat now. These are very good and I must say if I lived in Houston, I'd order again. I do wish there was a place to sit or picnic nearby, but this worked as well. (We all congregated at a house.) There was one roll that definitely had a kick to it. Oddly enough, SPICY MAMI was not it. My nose tends to run with spicy food and I didn't get to that point but it was close after that one spicy piece. Overall, a great experience. Our rolls were $8 to $17 each, 8 pieces per roll. It was around $27.20 per person before tips and tax/fees from hot plate ($7.35). They were nicely packed complete with edible orchid flowers, and personal cups of ginger and wasabi as well as chopsticks and soy sauce packets. We finished everything. This certainly wasn't cheap but when is sushi affordable enough to be a daily thing? I do wish there weren't service fees added on top, but I guess the platform needs support too. Delicious and something to try whether or not you're vegan. I hope to order again our next time in town. Many thanks to the chef for the excellent experience and his help!

The problem was there was an upcharge for oyster mushrooms but wasn't filled up with the mushrooms. I shouldn't bite into a taco and end up with just tortilla. And the limes were dry. However, the flavor of the tacos were A1. Chicken Chikn Alfredo sub Oyster Mushrooms- 7.5/10 because NO EXPLOSION OF FLAVOR. It was INSIPID. However, the noodles were cooked well, sauce was saucin' and they didn't skimp on the mushrooms in this dish. BUT they could've gave more pasta as a whole, it really wasn't much in there. Philly Steak Sub sub Oyster Mushrooms with KORNY SAUCE- 7/10. It lacked flavor AND there was barely enough mushrooms for how big the sandwich bread was. There was plenty onions and peppers which were cooked well but that's not what we were looking forward to. In addition, we couldn't even tell whether there was KORNY sauce added to it or not. Cookies and Cream Milkshake- 7/10. It was pretty good. Nothing special. Had a good consistency and flavor. German Chocolate Cake- 5.5/10. The cake itself was cooked well and really good. The icing which was coconut and something else wasn't very appetizing or appealing nor was it sweet. It was cold but we prefer our cakes room temperature. Overall, we would go back for the shroom tacos and probably try something else. They did have a very extensive menu. So I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others to try for themselves.

The AC worked well, and it was comfortable inside. The concrete floors might come across as "unfinished" or even dirty at first glance, but it felt more like part of the place's hip, industrial vibe. It's an older building with plenty of character. The person who took our order was very friendly and offered great recommendations. How is this place not ranked in the top 3 vegan restaurants in Houston?…read more For the seriously soulful vegan, this is where you have to go and try these delicious delectables, I have a few names below. First look at the menu, was like I will have one of these one of those and one of those as well. The list could go on, even though this was my first time trying this restaurant. I will say that vibe here is some what informal however the team is super friendly and nice! So my order was comprised of the following Collard greens : cooked and seasoned well Mac & Cheese : creamy and flavorful Barbecue Wings : battered fried and tossed Boudin rice balls : yummy Fried Catfish : texture and flavor was great Battered Shrimp: how can these not be real Yum Sauce: this can be married to anything Pineapple Lemonade: didn't quite hit the spot, so this was my least flavored item Nevertheless, I refuse to go into the detailed goodness of the each and every dish, because each of these I would eat again and this review would be ridiculously long and because after it's gone, all that I am left with are the unbelievable memories of taste. I have no negative comments on the food whatsoever. The facility is a little dated, however the quality and quantity of what arrives from that kitchen brings you back home. I will definitely be making this a home of mine in my search of Vegan cooking in the area. Please forgive me for almost leaving out the sauce that compliments pretty much anything they cook. Until the next time, Bye-Bye!

Think vegan McGriddles, a vegan Big Mac, and even vegan honey butter "chicken" biscuits the creativity alone is impressive, and the execution takes it to another level. Every item we tried delivered. It's rare to find a menu this ambitious where nothing misses, but here, everything genuinely felt like a five-star experience. The flavors are bold, satisfying, and remarkably true to their traditional counterparts, without feeling like a compromise. The clear standout is the vegan McGriddle it's an absolute game-changer. Sweet, savory, perfectly balanced, and somehow incredibly close to the original, yet elevated in its own right. However they pulled it off, it works beautifully. Don't just take my word for it this is one of those places you have to experience for yourself. Your taste buds will thank you.

It's tucked away in Midtown and makes for a perfect quick stop, especially if you're about to hop on 59 or 288 south from the Webster Street ramp. I recently swung by on my way to work and grabbed an iced oatmilk flat white. It was smooth, well-balanced, and exactly what I needed to start the day. They've got plenty of other tempting options--both sweet and savory--so whether you're in the mood for a quick pastry or a full-on indulgence, they've got you covered. I've had the banana bread cinnamon roll and some of the "pop tarts" always a solid choice. Never have tried the meatless kolaches but I've heard good things in the past. Friendly staff, chill vibe, and everything is vegan. Definitely a spot that deserves more of my morning routine.

Crumbville is such a unique bakery and record shop with a beautiful atmosphere and positive vibe…read more It has an old school Third Ward feel, but also reflects a contemporary mindset. I read somewhere that the bakery is set to close soon and wanted to share a few thoughts regarding how important this bakery is, not only to my original childhood neighborhood, but the city itself. What I love: how the building looks on the outside and inside; the owner is very kind, friendly and eager to converse with visitors; and the idea that you can purchase an album by The Jungle Brothers, David Axelrod, Andre 3000, De La Soul or D'Angelo along with sweet treats from the bakery is just so cool. As a cratedigger who loves buying records, this is just so impressive to me. The great artwork hanging on the walls is another plus. A family member bought a delicious strawberry cake for my birthday a few years back, and that was my first introduction to Crumbville. The owner's decision to offer vegan and gluten free desserts was a smart decision, but she also offers regular baked goods. During my first visit recently, I purchased a strawberry cupcake, which had a lime-flavored cookie base. It was sublime and reminded me so much of the birthday cake from years ago. Service was great here. Overall, I just love this place. It makes me smile, and I will be very sad to see it go.

Yesterday, I had a hankering for a cupcake, and it was rainy so I had zero interest in going anywhere. I found that Crumbville is on the Favor app, so I figured, why not? I ordered the Blueberries & Cream Cheesecake cupcake. Wow, it was liking having a blueberry muffin, with loads of blueberries, and icing on top. It was so good!! I also ordered the Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake, Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Snicker Crunch. All of the cupcakes are just so fresh and tasty. They are literally the best I have ever had. I fully plan on stopping in sometime to check out the location. I hear the service is amazing, and I cannot wait to find out!
