It is a truly a rare moment for this Queen to give 5 stars Birthday Dinner reservations were made in advance and I just happened to be a guest on a Saturday Evening. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted with a line.. There were guests waiting both standing and strayed for to be tended to. I made my way to the Host and advised that I was there for a Birthday Dinner Reservation. The Host advised that Party hadn't arrived yet and the table was being cleared off. I made my way to the bar to have a glass of champagne while I waited for the rest of the guests to arrive. The bar was jam packed on a Saturday evening but I managed to find a stool. I was greeted immediately by the bartender. She was very attentive and took my order right away. I ordered a glass of champagne and the Brussels as an appetizer being that I previously saw that they have gotten incredible reviews. The Brussels were just good/ok. I absolutely LOVE Brussels but these didn't have a particular WOW Factor to me. The flute of champagne was lovely but a single glass was $18.95. I am not sure what was the brand of Prosecco but just a little heads up for the Girlies that love Bubbly as much as I do. Perhaps it may be more cost effective to purchase a bottle if you plan on indulging in a few flutes. Ok.. here was the first hiccup! The entire Birthday Party was at the restaurant on time yet we still had to wait well over 35 minutes ti be seated... we were told that the table was being prepared. Mind you we ended up being seated at a table that was cleaned off from the moment I stepped in there which was now over 45 min pushing to an hour. Second Hiccup! In our Pre Reserved Birthday party we had one child.. after waiting for an extended period of time the Birthday Girl was advised that children are not allowed in the restaurant. After some continued conversation, we were all eventually seated. ( our minor is very well mannered and used to being in upscale dining settings to say the least) lol Now is when the magic begin!!! We were finally seated and our waiters name was Larry.... He was Very Attentive, Knowledgable and accommodating. He quickly took out drink orders, and the appetizers. In a blink of an eye we had all of our appetizers. I was a bit taken aback by how fast the food was coming out of this kitchen! Impressed even.. I ordered the Highly Recommended Oxtail Empanadas and a Passion Fruit Rum Punch 3 Gorgeously Golden Oxtail Empanadas come per serving. They have a super Flaky Crust, Flavorful Oxtail Filling and yummy dipping sauce. I will definitely be reordering these! My Passion Fruit Rum Punch was Amazing! Our waiter Larry brought out this beautiful cocktail and literally sets it on fire right Infront of you.. not only was it delight to see but delicious to sip on and great photo opp! ( Be mindful that there is a 2 Passion Fruit Punch Max per Guest... they say that these can sneak up on you ) Now the party is officially started and everyone places their order in for their Entree. A few people ordered the chicken and seafood Pasta, crab cake dinner with custom sides, a salmon dish, I believe a lamb and I ordered the Whole Fried Snapper with spicy seafood rice and curry sauce. All this food came out Hot and in Record time. Once again I was blow away how fast th food was coming out the kitchen and how on point service was as all the waiters came at once to drop off our meals. My dish was a sight to see. As it should be at around $75 for this dish. Presentation was beautiful. I do feel like my fish was a bit under seasoned and over cooked. The meat on the fish was a bit dry for my liking which made me think that perhaps the fish was fried too long. For what the fish cost I wish it would have been a bit more moist/ juicer. On the other hand the Golden Curry Sauce that was served on the side of this Beautiful Fried Snapper was absolutely DIVINE. I was a bit disappointed that a server didn't come to pour the sauce over my fish. I think that would've added to the wow factor of this dish and the lack of moisture of the Snapper. I love attention to detail and tiny gesture can elevated ones dining experience and make it even more memorable. I do wish there was more sauce for the fish. It was placed on the side in a small condiment cup. Not enough sauce to fish ratio but I didn't bother to ask for more because I was having such a good time . lol The service was spectacular! I loved how quickly the tables were cleaned and how the staff seamlessly worked together to make your experience feel like a more upscale dining experience Another hi light of this restaurant is that the person celebrating is brought out feathered wings to wear! These wings are traditionally worn as an accessory to Caribbean Carnival Costumes! The staff came out to sing Happy Birthday as my friend wore her wings and danced around the restaurant! We visited Ibis Cuisine in Virginia Beach, VA on April 15, 2026, and overall had a solid, but not standout, dining experience. The highlight of the night was without a doubt the service. Our server, Toni, was excellent--very attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. It's always refreshing when a server elevates the entire meal, and Toni definitely did that. The rest of the staff also seemed courteous and on top of things, which added to the positive atmosphere. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a good vibe--comfortable and inviting without feeling over the top. As for the food, it was...okay. Nothing was bad by any means, but nothing really stood out either. Everything we ordered was decent, but there wasn't a dish that made you stop and say "wow." I always try to give credit where it's due when food really impresses, and in this case, it just didn't quite get there. That said, because of the great service and overall pleasant experience, I would come back and give a few different menu items a try. i've been wanting to check this spot out for a while now, being that it's literally right across from where i stay, and i must say ... it was such a pleasant treat. me and a few friends had reservations for saturday night. walked in, and literally maybe had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. which is great bc they don't really have much of a waiting area. once seated, our server came over and took our drink and appetizer orders. i ordered a tequila drink (can't remember the name, but i think it was the only drink that contained tequila), and i will say... it was strong and im not complaining. we each ordered apps, and decided to share amongst the table. we ordered the collard dip, calamari, brussel sprouts, and oxtail empanadas. every single appetizer was a hit. for dinner, i ordered the cajun shrimp and chicken pasta, and i had no complaints there. and the for dessert, i went with the sweet potato cornbread. OMG. so good! my only complaint about this spot (which bought this down to a 4), is that our food all came out separately. when dining with a group, i feel it's important for the food to come out all together so you can all enjoy your meals at the same time. kind of the point. this is a place that i'd definitely revisit. read more

This continued for 55 min even though we ordered plenty of food and drinks. At 7pm another staff member came to tell us they had a 90 minute limit per table. The bartender was helpful with recommendations, but we went with the Hibiscus Fizz for him and the Passion Rum for me. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and perfectly balanced--if you like a cocktail that actually does what it's supposed to do, these are it. We couldn't decide between their two top-selling appetizers, so we ordered both--and thank God we did. Oxtail Empanadas: The crust was flaky and delicious, generously filled with oxtail and paired with a jerk sauce that was packed with flavor. Calamari: Light, crispy, and well-seasoned--not overly battered. Add a squeeze of lemon and dip it in that jerk sauce and it goes to another level. There has to be a little tamarind or sweetness in that sauce, because my Trini taste buds felt right at home. To go, we ordered the Lamb Rasta Pasta... and let's just say it did not make it out of the parking lot. I had a wonderful time at Ibis. Upon entry we were greeted with a smile and got seated immediately even through we didn't have reservations. We got there around 5:30pm and it wasn't very busy. However, after 30 mins it picked up and there were roughly only 5 tables left available so I highly recommend making reservations from Friday-Sunday. We ordered the oxtail empanadas (8/10), old bay wings (9/10), calamari (7/10), salmon bites (8/10) and with sauce (9/10) rib eye pasta (8/10). The brunch menu wasn't extensive but had plenty of great options. My friends & I each tried something different. I got the salmon & grits. My friends tried the chicken and waffles, oxtail hash & French toast with eggs and bacon. We shared the mimosa carafe with tropical fruit juice. The glasses were decorated nicely with fruit, the tropical juice didn't have much taste but was still good overall. I would first suggest making a reservation prior to the day you're planning to go. Secondly I would suggest the peach mimosa really good! The ambiance was amazing it was so beautiful they have this beautiful tree in the middle of the restaurant and it was outstanding if it was your birthday they did a little birthday thing for you and it was entertaining and got you too join in and got the whole restaurant to join in. And the food was delicious very delicious then macaroni and cheese was really like a 15 out of a 10 even though I did put it rated as an 11 out of 10 and I also had the salmon and grits which came with a turkey sausage it was delicious and I also had some scrambled eggs and cheese that was delicious also there's so many things on the menu that I want to try so I will be going back again. The pasta was greasy, and my friend requested another plate. The snapper was good, but the rice tasted mushy as if it had been cooked with too much liquid, yet it was still dry. The brunch drinks - were nice and strong. My partner grabbed the red snapper and grits. The snapper was good, but the grits were cold and clumpy. The sweet potato waffle was okay - I wouldn't get it again because I've had better elsewhere. The oxtail breakfast hash was delicious, except it arrived at my table missing the key components of onions, peppers, and cheese. We started with the Salmon Bites and the Oxtail Empanadas, both are a great way to start your meal. I had the Whole Red Snapper plate, which was amazing, from the fish which was moist and flaky, and fried just right, to the rice which was extremely flavorful. Drink menus are a bit different as well but server will let you know if your desired drink is possible and any possible additional fees. -brunch was lively and great music selection. We ordered most of the happy hour appetizers: Salmon bites, calamari and corn ribs. Fantastic! I really don't like mayo but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and expertise of the chef! My goodness! I am also first generation Caribbean American and the jerk sauce accompanying the calamari was legitimate folks! Never thought to pair that with calamari but yessir. The drinks were equally delicious. We had the strawberry peach whiskey sour and the Caribbean breeze. Perfectly made, period. As an entree we had salmon sliders, short rib sliders, crab cake sliders, and the seafood tower. Listen!! The crabcakes had no crumbs.. no breading.. all crab! That was the largest fried lobster tail I ever seen and the seasoning was perfect. I normally don't like coconut curry as a sauce... we didn't use coconut except for in rice & peas in my family.. so I was suspicious.. that coconut curry was THE BEST THING to add on that seafood tower!! But wait, there's more.. we had the red velvet cake that was the FLUFFIEST and lightest version of that cake I have ever had. If this is the type of food you like, you will not be disappointed. We were there for a birthday party which had 22 guest, and it definitely was a hit. Our lead server was a young lady named Toni and she really did the THING! She quickly greeted everyone took our orders and next thing we knew the drinks and food began to pour in. I had the Oxtail Lo-mein and my wife had the Red Snapper. Both dishes were good and plentiful. The presentation was definitely spot on. Give them a shot if you want a superb atmosphere and great service. I see some complaints about price, but remember if you go to Ruth's Chris you don't complain because you know what it is.... I tried ibis over the thanksgiving holiday so my review is super late (sorry!) My boyfriend and I went here and tried three drinks from their special holiday menu. The barista was amazing and super knowledgeable on everything in the restaurant. The night we went there were two people celebrating a birthday and the restaurant provided them Mas Feathers (Caribbean costume) and played a special birthday song for them which was a cute gesture in my opinion. The layout is spacious and decorated very nice. They even have an area to snap a few pictures for great content. So with the elevated Caribbean dining I did expect to hear Caribbean music but they played instrumental of some well known mainstream songs on a loop...I personally would've preferred the Caribbean music. We had the oxtail empanadas and WOW highly recommend trying these and grabbing some to go! My boyfriend had the lamb chops and seemed to enjoy it. He definitely would try it again and the bite I snagged was good (lol I personally tried the Honey Garlic Mashed potatoes. It was a very basic and safe decision and the dish was not anything special but was delicious. The barista let us know that they do brunch on the weekend and I have heard about that from multiple people so I will be stopping by for that as well. I waited an hour and a half to be seated for a party of 3 and several parties that came in after me were seated before me with little to no wait.. They took my name and number to contact me once my table was ready but when I went in to check on the wait time the same person said they didn't remember speaking to me. I was seated shortly after discovering the mix up. After my long wait, the food actually came out surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the portions were small. I paid $26 for the oxtail, eggs, and potatoes, and honestly, I could've gotten more (and better) for my money elsewhere. That said, the blueberry lemon pancakes were amazing. $12 for two decently sized pancakes felt reasonable, especially since they were the highlight of the meal. The drink that I got was good, pretty, and got me where i needed it to. No complaints there. Overall, this seems like a great spot for drinks and a nice ambiance, but I wouldn't come back for the food. Happy Hour!!!! This past Friday my daughter and I went to Ibis to check them out for Happy Hour! Upon entering we were so impressed by the modern decor! Perfect place to snap a selfie or to go live on TikTok or IG. Shanita greeted up warmly and showed us to a Hi-top table near the bar. She showed us how to access their full menu including their happy hour specials by using the qr code on the table. So delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness. Topped with a peach slice and strawberry and a sugar rim. We then tried the fried calamari with jerk glaze , the fried salmon bites AND ox tail empanadas. The calamari was fried to perfection, seasoned well and the jerk glaze took it to another level. 10/10! The ox tail empanadas were good. My bestie treated us to brunch at Ibis and we were all blown away with the ambience right away. It was decorated so beautifully and the service was top tier. Add to that the food was amazing and the staff went out of their way to make sure they took all necessary precautions for food allergies in the group. We visited Ibis Cuisine for an early Father's Day dinner. Everything was a 10/10. The food, the drinks, the ambience, and the service were all amazing. We ordered the oxtail empanadas, the blackened salmon, the braised short ribs, and the lamp chops. The Gouda Mac and cheese is a must try! I also got a lemon drop. The food and drinks exceeded all expectations The service was quick. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and knew the menu very well. Our food and drinks came quickly and the food was amazing. I enjoyed the Passionfruit Rum Cocktail, a balanced drink with a delightful punch. For the main course, the honey garlic chicken on whipped mashed potatoes, with sides of Mac n cheese and Rasta pasta, was outstanding. The server's energy was on point! She had recommendations and her recommendations did not disappoint. The food came out fast. Mocktails for pregnant crew. Delish and felt like I wasn't missing out. Beautiful scenery with plenty of seating space. Did I mention the food was delicious. I think the only critique for me, which had nothing to do with the food, was the bathroom. The bathroom was set up very nicely, but it smelled like a bathroom if that makes sense. Strong air freshener and/or toilet fresheners, and u good! Best brunch in the tidewater area that I've had hands down since returning to visit back home. The quality of the food, drinks, and the service is top tier. We truly need more quality restaurants such as these to show up and represent more. Everything was really good. I must suggest that the temperature be a little hotter on the salmon, shrimp, and grits and a touch more of season or even hit it with a little finishing salt. The decor within the restaurant is very tasteful with a touch of artistic style. Since originally taken these images, I've been back twice already. Love this spot! read more
