Highly recommend!!! First off, the staff is super friendly and served us graciously & in good time. It's casual, comfortable & really clean. The menu is beautiful and easy to understand. Both times I've been there the chef has come out to visit with people. For appetizers we shared gyoza, seriously best ever! And Bao Bun, a yummy fluffy steamed bun folded over a Japanese-style fried chicken with some sort of sweet/savory sauce For dinner I ordered the teriyaki chicken Ramen. Typically I'll eat half of my restaurant dinner and save the rest for the next day. I could not stop eating this delicious bowl of goodness. My husband had a seafood bowl and was equally happy. The two Ramens we ordered, the Char Siu and Niku Soba, were very good. Both had nice flavor. Noodles were tasty. Pork belly was soft and juicy. The kara-age was also crispy and tender and seasoned nicely. The sauce that came with it was very good. Not many places (maybe none) where you can enjoy ramen in Salem. Well Hooray! for finally getting a good Japanese ramen place in Salem! I have had lots of ok ramen, and some really great ramen, and a couple of sublime ramen experiences :) I would put this in the great category. I had the char su ramen. My partner likes miso broth but it was only listed with the teriyaki ramen. But the server was happy to have her order the char su with miso. Most places I've been you get to choose your broth; shoyu, miso, shio. But this place has many different types of ramen, and even though it isn't stated on the menu, maybe switching up the broths is ok. The egg was perfect for me! I like the yolk half cooked so they nailed it. The broth was very flavorful and tasty as were all the other veggie bits in the soup. But of course it is all about, ok mostly about, the noodles. Lovely and firm! but I have to say, even though the texture was spot on they weren't the best noodles I've ever had, but I can't put my finger on it. The 2 improvements I would suggest are more broth in the bowl and serve it hotter. It was hot, but I feel like ramen should be HOT when it gets to your table. You can order extra broth, but for $12 and a bit smaller portion than most places, I think putting in ample broth should not be a hard fix. I'm super glad they are here and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu items! read more

I'm not a ramen connoisseur, but I had the soba ramen and it was delicious! I did order and appetizer, but the ramen came out first. The waitress came and checked in on us and asked if I had received the appetizer, I replied that I hadn't and to just remove it from my order and she took care of it without any fuss. And yes, at the same time i was prepared to be disappointed because after all... we are still in Solame and it could have been just an expensive version of Ramen Ichiban. Went here early Sunday evening. Place was quite busy, not crazy but constant stream of customers. I am not a ramen aficionado, so this review is from a taste and cost perspective. We ordered an appetizer of Gyoza 5 pieces very nicely done. Enjoyed. Next the ramen. I had Char siu ramen and my daughter the spicy beef ramen. Both dishes tasted good and had a healthy amount of ramen, but the amount of meat was miniscule for the price paid. I had maybe 4 very thin and small slices of char siu. Again the taste was good and the ingredients seemed of good quality. But very little meat. Service was very good, fast and attentive. Place was clean and tastefully decorated. Very average ramen place, but I guess being the only one in Salem has its advantage. Decor/staff: The decor of the place are pretty minimal, and plain. The middle section of the table were extremely tight, I mean I am only 120lb and even I felt squished in between the chair. So we changed to another table against the wall. Staffs are very friendly and attentive, we got our drinks(they even have cocktail drinks)and got to order pretty quickly. Food: they actually have a good variety in their menu. Lots of appetizer choice and different ramen and stir fried noodle options. My husband and I tried the cha siu pork bun, and short ribs appetizer. Cha siu pork bun has way too much sauce and tiny piece of meat in it. Short ribs were very oily and has no flavor and very chewy. I won't recommend the both of them. For the main course, of course we got to try the ramen. My husband tried the Chasiu Ramen, and I tried the shredded spicy pork ramen. Flavors of soup was ok, but the noodle it's a bit too hard. Mine ramen tho, was SUPER oily. I know ramen can have a bit oily soup base but I mean mine was excessive. I couldn't even finish my bowl (and it's not even that big of a bowl) because I felt like I was eating oil. ‍ Overall, food is very very average, I probably will give it another try next time for different items, since they just open and hopefully has room to improve. read more

And the only veggies are a little bit of shredded cabbage and some corn. I typically go next-door to get the pho and I get the vegetable one because it has tons of vegetables. I've been here more times than I can count. I love it very much. The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because the buns/meat portions in general are very skimpy. Usually I get the pork bun and it only comes with one small piece that hardly fills the bun but I tried the chicken and I honestly couldn't even see chicken when I bit into it. It was a paper thin piece of chicken (questionable) and all I could taste was crunchy breading. That being said, their ramen is awesome. I wish they had a "create your own" because it gets pricey substituting everything but considering it's the only ramen spot in town- I'll take it. read more

Their Char Su pork buns are delicious. However, the last two times I've ordered the cook was skimpy on the pork and sauce. I ordered dinner for our weekend guests to enjoy too. I had really talked the buns up and so this order was disappointing. The pork ribs as well as the calamari was over cooked. The pork ribs looked like jerky. Food was cold. Just another over priced ramen joint.. trying to find the one is a struggle, but let's get it to it. The bun has improved a little, fried chicken piece is a little more vs the sliver I got last time, agadashi tofu usually is a big cube of fried tofu, but they serve it thinly sliced? The dipping sauce was great just wanted more from my tofu. The ramen.. is so dissapointing. I got the niku soba with extra chasu and egg. I paid 1.25 for a sliver of fat. Are you kidding me? I also paid extra for just half an egg. I would think paying extra for the price they are charging would be more? My broth was pretty much soaked into the noodles so little to no broth, way too much sesame seeds and just not enjoyable. We also did the kimchi ramen, and shredded char sui ramen and its just not good... and being so pricey didn't justify the flavors or the portions.
