We were seated quickly, and our orders, though not on the conveyor belt, were placed and plated fairly quickly thereafter. Drawing a blank on the exact roll I had, all I know is that it was super TASTY. I had one of their shrimp tempura rolls, and I paired it with a matcha mochi. Now, the matcha mochi was not as great as I've had from other establishments, but I ate it all anyway. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. All in all, it was a good lunch. Price points are REALLY A STEAL here. So, if you are looking for a budget-friendly lunch, then this is the spot for you - especially if you enjoy sushi. They have ready-made, grab-and-go rolls, alongside other items and desserts. They also have a larger menu that you can request various items that may not be on the conveyor belt. Again, service is quick, so if you don't see something that you can immediately grab and eat, then you won't have to wait too long if you have to place an order. My boyfriend and I love O'Sushi, so we were excited to see that they had a location in Salem. We were disappointed though with our experience. We ordered 8 different plates from our waitress, and the first one was brought to us within the minute. After taking a bite, it was clear that this roll had been sitting out on the belt for a minute as it tasted old. The rest of the food ordered was fine, but nothing as good compared to the other location we typically go too. I'm convinced kura is the only decent conveyor belt sushi in Oregon... the choices on the belt was mostly rolls drowned in sauce or fruit, the cheesecake slices cut even more to make more profit is wild and the fish on top of the sushi is a joke? In general, there was too much rice compared to the amount of filling, and the sushi just didn't taste fresh. I am a sucker for conveyer belt sushi and there is none where I live, so I was very excited to find one during dinner break nearby the theater where I was working. I sat with a new friend from the show and we got to share our favorites as we sipped hot sake. The restaurant is a basic storefront, inside it is long and bright with the conveyor as the central feature. Each plate is $3 (as of 8/24) and when we got the sake the server put down 2 plates to indicate the price, which I thought was clever. The choices were simple, there were fruit plates, seaweed salad wrapped in tofu wrappers, and lots of sushi choices that used Krab. There were a couple of salmon sashimi and yellowtail plates, but they went quickly and weren't refilled as often as the other types. I'll admit to scarfing 9 plates (plus two for the sake), but the quality was medium. The fish was fresh, and the rice was good. Nothing to complain about, but no stand-out surprises. I have no complaints about any of that. However, I will not be going back because it wasn't really sushi they served. Sushi rolls are supposed to be raw fish and veggies, cream cheese or something like it, wrapped in seaweed and sticky rice. They had about 30 kinds of California roll (fake crab stuffed in seaweed and sticky rice) I tried to order a fresh salmon roll that should have had actual fish IN it, but they again served a California roll, but with a very tiny piece of the salmon I was expecting, on top. I am not from Salem, I do not frequent Salem, and I have no intention to do so. Finding myself nearby and craving sushi, I tried out O'Sushi, which was not a great life choice. The conveyer belt ran the plates around and around, with no one else in sight. I worry for the condition of the seafood. Upon ordering plates off the menu, the "sushi rolls" that I received were about 90% rice, bland and should not be able to be served at a sushi restaurant. I am sorry, I really am. I enjoyed it. This is sushi fast food so I was not expecting momiji or Benihana. The belt moved plates that grouped in similar style foods but you can order what you want. But that was a problem because there were no pads of order sheets and it was impossible to get the waitress attention. She was busy cleaning the counters and empty plates.
