Debi and the crew showed up, got a quick briefing from me, and were loaded in under an hour. Unloading at my new place was just as quick. Before I knew it, we were settling up. I told them it was narrow, they didn't listen. The crew was stoned, reeked of marijuana, and were vaping more the entire time. Most of my quality furniture ended up with nicks and scratches which they denied doing and when I pointed out before and after pictures simply said "We don't care, you didn't pay for the premium insurance so its $.60/pound." Then they insisted I pay them using a card reader instead of getting a final invoice and when I protested, said they were going to call the police and refused to leave my house. There was no office to call, no owner to talk to, I was at their mercy. I tried calling the office the next business day but never heard back from them. It was obvious they could care less. Stay away from these people.

Packing I was unable to pack everything myself so they stepped in to help. They brought boxes and wrapping materials and carefully packed everything. I was concerned about my TV since it was a long ride to SF but they seemed very experienced and was able to get it safely to the destination. Unloading I appreciate that they ask me which room they want certain things in instead of just dumping everything in one room for me to have to move it again afterwards. They put my office things in the office and kitchen boxes in the kitchen etc... They also helped me install my TV on the wall to make my life easier! Couldnt recommend them enough!

The move was completed in a little under 4 hours from SF to Oakland. I paid the hourly rate + gas fee and decided to pay them the rounded up hourly rate as the tip. They kept pushing against that in person and also called me 5 minutes later to say I hadn't tipped enough and there was a minimum. This was not stated before hand and is also not listed anywhere on their yelp page or website. I have never experienced this before and considering their rates are high I was very frustrated with this customer service. My home was also left messy. Pieces of plastic and bits of debris were left on the floor and the plastic wrap used to protect items was not removed at my new home. Adding to hours of extra work. The tip harassment really pushed me over the edge. I wouldn't hire them again, which is unfortunate because their thoroughness in other areas was appreciated. I've recommended many friends to my old movers but they don't service this area. Customer service like this means no repeat business and no recommendation which is much more financial loss over time compared to a slightly higher tip. Maybe think about the outcome before you call your customers asking for more?

He sent over Jorge and his crew of 3 other men over and they were fast. No judgment at the amount of stuff and trash we had. Packed things and even uninstalled shelves for us and I was not expecting them to go that far. Everything was wrapped with care even a tiny plastic item was wrapped by itself!! They had a lot to do and it was hot out and they did it so quickly. Were communicative throughout the whole time. Also offers flexibility to leave boxes/crates and then come back and pick up collapsed boxes, packing material so that I don't have to disposition them, and they can also reuse them. Instead of making the move easier, they left us doing a lot of the work ourselves, and we even had to undo and redo much of what they had done. I initially chose this company because it is a Muslim-owned company and I really wanted to support them, but I was extremely disappointed with the service we received. One of the worst issues was that ant-killing chemical powder was put inside/around our boxes, which ended up ruining some of them. We are now left trying to figure out how to safely remove the powder and deal with the damage. Despite all these problems, we still had to pay the full price. Based on our experience, I would not hire this company again and unfortunately cannot recommend them to others. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the professionalism and care provided by their moving crews. Our move was on June 27th,2026. Reliability: They arrived at the agreed-upon time and did not provide me with a 3-hour timeframe or tell me that they would arrive some-time in the afternoon; they arrived exactly when they said they would and immediately commenced with their tasks without any standing around or slowing down. Communication: I was also impressed with how they communicated with me. Prior to the beginning of any moving activity, they provided me with a detailed explanation of what they would do with each item and how long it would take to complete, as well as what I could expect. There was no technical jargon or talking quickly while walking past me. Trustworthiness: There were no surprises; the final cost was exactly what they initially quoted me, and all of the furniture that was moved from the storage unit was delivered to my house without incurring any damage. All of the furniture was delivered without any scratches or marks of any kind.

Unfortunately, this move was a completely different experience. Through dealing with everything that happened afterward, I learned that the crew I worked with last year is no longer there and that there have been changes in ownership/management. There was a serious lack of communication, organization, and attention to detail throughout the move. Belongings were left behind at the original residence, and the crew even left behind their own moving equipment. At the new home, belongings were piled on beds and placed randomly in drawers, cabinets, closets, and other areas without anyone asking where they belonged. I ultimately had to conduct my own walkthrough, take photos, and point out problems one by one to the crew lead. What was even more concerning was the condition of some of the packed belongings. Boxes and containers appeared to have been gone through, with belongings rummaged through and left in disarray. The cash was NOT simply left lying out or in plain sight. It had been kept inside a closed, lidded container, underneath other contents, and packed among other belongings. The following morning, $3,000 in cash was reported missing from that container, which appeared to have been accessed. I immediately reported the situation to Dependable Movers, and a police report was filed. Management was notified and provided with extensive photographic documentation of the condition in which belongings were left. I have requested both a full refund and a thorough investigation into the missing property. This is incredibly disappointing because I returned to Dependable Movers specifically because of how great my previous experience had been. When you hire movers, you are trusting them inside your home and with access to extremely personal belongings. Professionalism, communication, accountability, and trust are essential, and those expectations were absolutely not met during this move. After this experience, I will never use Dependable Movers again, nor would I recommend this company to anyone.
