We were on vacation in Laguna Beach and my husband's glasses needed a repair. Unfortunately, he did not bring a spare pair. He called first thing Monday morning and Nancy said to come by. So we did and she said she could fix the broken wire holding the lense in place. We went for a coffee and came back 20" later and she was done! Asked what we owed and the answer was "nothing"! Covid caused some turnover at my regular optometrist who's close to my work in Irvine but I've been WFH for a few years so I decided to try somebody in Laguna closer to home. Good decision on my part! The office is really convenient in terms of location. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus Dr Cook reminds me of Peter Weller from Buckaroo Banzai, which is automatically a good thing. I had them re-check my most recent prescription and the glasses which weren't working for me. It turned out there were several issues. So I had Dr Cook and team provide a new prescription and glasses. They nailed it. Plus they billed VSP for me. Sometimes it's wise to do everything under one roof. This was definitely one of those times. Now I can get the older pair of glasses redone with confidence that this prescription is definitely right too. Highly recommended. read more

TL:DR went her for company safety glasses, they were slow and were not familiar with placing an industry prescription. I needed to order company provided safety glasses, this optometrist office was the closest recommended vendor. I printed out the appropriate documentation and previous prescription and headed over after confirming with the receptionist over the phone they were open and available to see me. I showed up gave my documentation to the receptionist who passed it along to the lady who fits you for glasses/ places the orders. I waited 20 minutes and the Lady came out to tell me she had never seen the documentation before and was unsure of how to proceeded. In the waiting room I looked over the documentation and called the support number. The person said the documentation was standard and any optometrist in network should know how to submit the forms. I hung up circled the support number so glasses fitting/ ordering person could call to answer her questions and handed back the forms to the receptionist to pass along. I waited 45 more minutes without being seen and unfortunately had to leave to go back to work. I will not go back, instead I will drive the extra 20 minutes to an optometrist in network in Costa Mesa. read more

I have been going to see Dr.'s Cler and Cook for almost 10 years now and I just wanted to let Yelp know how awesome these guys are. I saw Dr Cook this time today, he is very educational with a great sense of humor. We talked about our families as he examined me. What really pleases me is they understand my needs-- I don't need 800$ designer glasses, I break stuff, give me cheap black frames please! I can't walk and chew gum!!! Doctors Cook and Cler are both very thorough, professional, caring eye doctors. BUT don't buy the sunglasses sold there. I purchased Smith sunglasses about three years ago and have gone back a dozen times to have the lenses that keep popping out re-installed. I paid several hundred dollars and really wanted Maui Jim frames but was advised by the person at their office that Smith was superior. An absolute joke. Having no faith in the ability of the people working for Dr. Cook & Cler to know whey are doing I have had my regular eyeglass prescription filled at Costco, and I am eating the hundreds of dollars wasted on faulty Smith frames and purchasing my prescription sunglasses some place else that offers high quality sunglasses. So the message is: Doctors Cook & Clear rate 5 stars but their frame and fitting staff although wanting to be helpful are selling faulty but expensive frames. read more

I must acknowledge Dr Michael Cook for his expertise, accuracy & excellence, I saw him after doing quite a bit of research & getting a recommendation from an excellent eye surgeon, not the one that had operated on me. ( I had Lasik that did not turn out as I expected, my vision regressed within 1 1/2 years). I had not been able to wear contacts again w/o my eyes getting very red. Nightmare on Red Hill Avenue. I first contacted I2I Optometry because my previous eye doctor stopped accepting the vision insurance that my employer provides. Dr Michael Cook performed the exam and stated that I should have Progressive lenses. I told Dr Cook that I have had progressive lenses in the past and did not like them as they made my vision dizzy. Dr Cook was adamant that I chose them in spite of my hesitation. After my emphatic decision, Dr. Cook ordered regular lenses and had me sign an acknowledgement. I have 2 sets of frames and wanted to get a set of lenses for each. One of the frames that I own are made by a German company by the name of Mykita. The office manager Tabitha suggested that I leave the Mykita frames in their office and that they had the ability to mount the lenses in the office without delay. Three weeks passed and still no glasses. Each week I called only to get the run around. Finally, Tabitha came clean and confirmed that she accidentally broke off the right temple piece. She stated that she wanted to make things right by me and that I would receive a new pair of frames but they needed to be ordered. A week later, she changed the story to say that she discussed the issue with the doctor and that they would give me $100 and that I could take the frames or that they would send them out for repair in Berlin Germany and that it could take up to 2-3 months for repair. I located a Mykita store in downtown Los Angeles and contacted them. The store has the ability to repair onsite and provided a quote of $149.10 for repair. I presented the quote to I2I Optometry and demanded that they provide a letter stating that they are responsible for the repair and a check for $149.10. They provided a check but no letter was given to me. Every step of the way has been a nightmare. Beware and think twice. read more

Words can't describe how much I appreciate and admire i2iOptometry. After being shuffled around from optometrist through optometrist fearing my eye condition would continue to deteriorate being told "it's the best I can do" by former optometrists.....FINALLY we were referred to the perfect optometrist beyond knowledgeable on how to tackle my keratonic condition. I am just in awe to see such a team full of knowledgeable, caring, encouraging, loving and supportive team. Maria is such an amazing receptionist, Tabatha is extremely patient, knowledgeable and just takes her time educating me about how to best care for my eyes, hard contacts. Dr. Cook is simply amazing in all that he does. I'm simply amazed with their multitasking skills and just love their teamwork. At first Dr. Cook told me my eye condition is a rare and challenging one, but he wouldn't quit on me unless I decide to quit....appointments after appointments and sure enough the team has it given up on me. Granted there's been a moment I felt beyond frustrated and Tabatha reached out to me in such an uplifting way...here we are a year later and my condition has IMPROVED! While I wear my prescribed contacts I am able to clearly see so much beauty around me...I'm also able to drive with much comfort and ease, especially at night! Dr. Cook is one the most amazing physicians that I have had in my life. His level of care for his patients is above and beyond the normal practice. Dr. Cook is very much dedicated to his patients' wellbeing. Sometimes things don't workout the way you want them to. This is one of those times. After two eye examinations and a lengthy process (from July to October) and trying to find the appropriate frames, both the reading and distance glasses failed to give me clear vision. Distance Glasses: (Second pair) I tried to wear them, but they made me nauseous and gave me a dizzy feeling. I could not wear them driving. I felt a tightness or pulling sensation in my eyes. I question if the glasses were polarized as they did not cut the glare of direct sun when driving. When driving these glasses did not transition into sun glasses as they were supposed to. Reading Glasses: (Second pair) I initially came in to see Dr. Cook to obtain reading glasses that had a special protective Blue Light coating for long hours at the computer. I was dealing with Dry Eyes and all of the symptoms. I tried wearing the new prescription lenses in front of the computer. I could see clearly looking straight ahead at the computer screen, but when looking from side to side, or down on my desk for specific information, my vision was terribly blurred. My cheap readers (Foster Grant) off the shelf never gave me a problem. I saw clearly from all angles. Frames: My first attempt at selecting frames failed and I returned both to Tabatha. She promptly said not to worry, she would work with me to get it right. She brought in one of her vendors and we sat and went through all of the glasses. None of them really were right, in my opinion, but I felt I had no choice as we had exhausted every possible frame in the office. It was frustrating. I selected two frames that I felt were questionable, but I just wanted to end it. I thought I would go home and look at them and decide. The frames were not desirable. I have a small face and my ears are positioned in such a way that it was difficult to fit me properly. The readers were from a children's line of eye wear. The attempt was made to fit my small face, but they actually fit too tight and they still had the wrong angle when worn. They just couldn't get it right. Two attempts and I had it! I returned the glasses. After spending over $1,000.00, I walked out with nothing more than total frustration. I would not recommend i2i Optometry to anyone. Dina Gribben read more

My experience at this particular optometrist has been absolutely outstanding, for so many different reasons. The receptionist Maria is very sweet and helpful over the phone, she called me to remind me of my appointment which was very helpful. I went in recently to pick up my very first pair of contacts. TABATHA was super helpful when showing me how to put them in and clean them! It is not that easy for first timers. TABATHA was very patient with me and extremely helpful! That office is lucky to have her. And of course Dr Cook is awesome as well! He was super informative when it came to my particular medical condition. Hes a true professional. I had a very odd experience the last time I was in this office. Dr Cook asked me to come back for a follow up exam because he wanted to check out my eye that was very irritated at my previous exam. When I came back into the office, he asked me "why I was there." I reminded him that he had asked me to come back So that he could take a look at my eye when it was not irritated. I found that rather odd, considering he had asked me to come in. He was very disconnected from the appointment and looking at his computer the entire time. He then asked me "what I hope to accomplish today." At this point I am a little confused, I told him that my goal was to fine tune my contact lens prescription so that I can see. He then took a lens out of his desk drawer put it in front of my eye and asked me if I could read the chart. I told him I could, and that was essentially the end of the visit. FYI He never even looked at my eye that was having all the problems and the reason I was there in the first place!! What a strange experience. Very odd and strange behavior. read more

The optometrists and the optician are great, but the 'receptionist' is awful awful awful. My eyeglasses were breaking and I was wanted to know if someone could take a look at them. She was very curt and not welcoming at all. She left me standing at the front desk for nearly 5 minutes without telling the optician that someone was waiting. I liked the doctors here but won't be back, there's too many good shops out there to tolerate treatment like this. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. Everyone here is VERY helpful. I didn't even know I had an eye condition until they told me. I thought I couldn't wear contact lenses anymore or at all due to my eyesight being very bad but they made it happen! I've never heard of schleral lenses until I came here. Tabatha is just so awesome. There's so much good things I can say about her. She's VERY knowledgable and makes sure I understand everything from medical terms she and Dr. Cook uses to how to put on and care for the schleral lenses that I was prescribed to wear. Let me tell you, these lenses take a little getting use to when it comes to putting them on and Tabatha made sure I was ok. Dr. Cook is absolutely amazing at what he does too. He's VERY informative. I have a lot of good things to say about him too. Maria the receptionist is also very nice and always calls a day or two before my appointments to confirm. I've gone to so many different eye doctors and this one is the best. They are VERY caring and they make sure you are very well taken care of. I wish I would've found them YEARS ago instead of wasting money and not knowing of the eye condition I have. Just purchased a pair of glasses for my husband about a month ago, he just received them last week. Now when we were in the process of purchasing his glasses we specifically asked if we can purchase warranty for them because my husband works for a courier company and is constantly jumping in and out of a truck, and well you know, things can happen when your running around all day like that! So sure enough just yesterday he cracked his lenses. So when he called today they tell him that they had offered us warranty and since we did not purchase it we have to pay 50+ dollars to have them replaced!! Obviously they did NOT offer us warranty because we had ASKED before we even received the glasses if there was even a warranty to purchase! So NO we were NOT offered warranty! My husband and I are those people who ALWAYS buy warranty so if we had been offered a warranty we would have bought it! Needless to say we will be taking our business else where. read more

Dr. Cook takes a lot of time with me and provides a very personal experience. He always makes me feel like he is sincerely interested in what's happening in my life and never makes me feel rushed. I feel like their exams are extremely thorough and during my last appointment, Dr. Cook told me that my eyesight had improved so much that he didn't even recommend I continue wearing contacts. Found Dr. Cler (and Dr. Cook) as providers in my company's vision plan (National Vision Administrators. Dr. Cler was fantastic! He provided a very thorough eye exam, prescription, great choice of frames, and just an overall top notch experience. He also took the time to explain what issues were affecting my vision as well as various eye procedures that might make a difference but probably wouldn't be worth the investment, for now. That was much appreciated versus being "sold" on expensive surgical procedures that would only have limited results. read more
