A store motivated by resale of expensive costume jewelry and novelty things should have far better customer service. In my experience I walked in and greeted the employee and she did not return my greeting or respond at all. While I was browsing she proceeds to follow me around, apparently for the reason of making sure I didn't steal anything because not once did she ask if I needed anything. If you're so worried about people stealing you should hire a security guard like they do at Louis Vuitton:) You know what they say bad news spreads faster than good. My daughter said "No I did not" My Niece who has Cerebral palsy and it is very hard to walk around your store. The only Response the employee said was "oh I'm sorry in rude tone . Now While my daughter was talking to the Employee she watched her niece as she stood by a table and was admiring a stuffed snail and my daughter was close enough to hear very clearly what another Employee was saying to her DISABLED niece. This Employee (NOT WEARING A MASK.) mind you binds down to eye level with my 7 yr old DISABLED GRAND DAUGHTER AND LITERALLY IN HER FACE SAY - BECAUSE OF COVID WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO BUY IT . .. NOW DONT GET ME WRONG BUT I DONT CARE IF A "CHILD IS WEARING A MASK OR NOT" BUT - 1ST- Get in a 7 yr Olds face who.is clearly disabled by looking at her leg braces . 2nd - not giving a crap if place.is handicap friendly . Staff customer service was trash, didn't greet me even though I was at the front door. Kept giving side looks for some reason , when I went up to pay for the items, the girl with the glasses didn't try assisting me in the transaction even though she was at the front fixing little trinkets. I didn't take it personal , but cmon you have customers willing to buy your selections. Be professional. PS the store is too damn crowded, it's great they have a lot of stuff but if you're being followed around like the other people who put their reviews , be ready to do some acrobatics and parkour so you won't knock anything over on your way to the register and put to the door. read more

Save your hard earned money, and shop elsewhere. I was in this store 20 minutes ago, and for the first time in my life (been living in this area for 20+ years) I was actually racially profiled by the employee who wore black glasses and had an orange dress on. The entire interaction from start to finish was TERRIBLE. I am a women of color (brown), and I came in wearing shorts and a Bob Marley shirt. We ask if we can bring in the drinks we got from Starbucks and she replies "yea... I guess it's okay. just don't touch anything." Lol, a simple no would have been fine. Soon as we get in the store, she heads back to the dressing room and she signals at the girl at the register to watch us. We browsed around some, and I decided on a bar of soap and a candle since we are new to Oakdale and we wanted to shop local. The entire time they followed us, it was bullshit. The store had people in the store and we got followed? Okay... lol. So we go up to the check stand to buy our things, she had the nerve to throw my stuff to the next register and tell the other girl to deal with it while she went off with a WHITE customer and gave her the customer service that should be given out EQUALLY . It was evident that my fiancé and I were not welcome in that store. She pointed out that my "card" would be run again because of "technical issues". I was so excited about all the things in the store, and I was looking forward to spending my paycheck on their beautiful candles and body soaps, but because of this interaction I chose to spend $30 dollars and left. I will never be returning here again, and i hope I can find another mom & pop shop in Oakdale that treats everyone equally and respectfully! Not pick and choose who you want to give good customer service to. From beginning to end, this place made me feel unwelcome and unsafe. Zero stars. My parents were in the store this week and were followed around by an older woman with black hair who was working. She was very rude to my father and followed my mother around as if she was going to steal something if she wasn't watched with an eagle eye. It's very unfortunate, because this has been one of my favorite stores and my parents would have probably given the store business if it weren't for this woman. My parents had driven 45 minutes to Oakdale to shop and left the store with nothing. I will certainly think twice before shopping there again. Such a disappointment; especially around the holidays. I'm not one to complain but I had a strange experience at this store while doing some Christmas shopping. I was looking for a gift for my Mother and right when I stepped foot in the door the lady with the glasses and short black hair wouldn't let me shop. She was trying to help me but really was preventing me from shopping myself. I went there last Saturday in the early morning so I can have some me time. But instead was followed by the worker there. Not sure if she was the owner but I'm writing this to let her know to STOP doing this to people. It's Rude. I did spend a few hundred dollars there because their items are really eclectic and unique! But she ruined my morning honestly, I'm not sure if she thought she was helping me but it was annoying. Just to give you a glimpse, she asked me if my Mother would like trinket boxes I told her no and she tried showing me four after I told her no. Such a weird experience honestly. Then again, I was looking around and walked into their kid section and she said weren't you looking for your Mother, I laughed. I couldn't help myself, I said "yes, but I also have kids". I've shopped at I Love Paris for years. I have always found a sweet little gift for a friend when needed. The staff isn't in your face, warm and fuzzy friendly though.... The last couple of times I've gone in it has been very uncomfortable. I am too old and spend too much money to be followed around like a "common criminal". I've had others tell me that they are followed around the store and it confused me. Today.... It was VERY obvious. They "pretend" like they are cleaning or straightening the shop as they walk along with you. It would be one thing if I hadn't shopped there before, but these ladies remember me. I'm afraid my feelings and those of others are that they need to remember they are in Oakdale Ca and not Beverley Hills on Rodeo Dr. It's okay to be NICE & FRIENDLY to the people writing your paycheck. If they have a problem with theft, maybe they need to hire someone specifically for the front door or an undercover gal but this, this isn't working for me. Sad really read more

This store makes my heart race! I LOVE soooooo many things for sale inside! My favorite is the jewelry, which I have bought as gifts on several occasions, for family members and for ME! I bought all the jewelry I wore at one of my daugher's wedding here, and feel so elegant every time I wear it still. It was incredible that they allowed me to put it on layaway and I was excited to pay it off quickly and take it home. My husband bought me a bracelet I put on hold for another daughter's wedding since then. They gift wrap beautifully, and treat me like they like my business, even though most of the time I arrive very sloppily dressed. If their prices were lower, I'd shop there a lot oftener, for not only jewelry, but home decor, glass wear, baby gifts, and some of the beautiful clothing items. What a beautiful boutique! I was told to come here for a gift for my aunt and had never even heard of it. I'm so glad I found this place and will recommend to everyone! I wish I wasn't in a hurry because I could have stayed hours in there! So many great gift ideas and things to see. Great music, beautiful ambiance, friendly staff. It was hard to narrow it down what to buy. I got her a beautiful candle, vintage perfume bottle from France and a nice candied popcorn bag. I get it, they have a lot of trinkets and small items, but after several times of being watched closely and followed around I decided it is not worth the unpleasant experience and mostly inflated prices. TERRIBLE customer service. Will never shop there again. DO NOT recommend this shop. Go elsewhere if possible. They said they could have my earrings repaired so I brought them in. They sent them out and I wrote my number down for them to call me. I called them a week later since I had not heard anything. They said they had not received the earrings back from the repair shop. Another week goes by, same thing. Yet another week goes by and I call again, same thing. A month later I call and the lady I spoke with said she had been trying to call me for weeks but my number was incorrect and they were unable to fix my earrings and was extremely rude about it. She was not happy that she could not dial my out of area number correctly. They can't even figure out you need to put a 1 in front of a different area code. I wrote down my own number down for them, clearly legible because the woman that helped me read it back to me to confirm. I ended up finding the earrings for 30 bucks less elsewhere. read more
