This store is great. The selection is honestly mind blowing. I believe with a location closer facing to McHenry, this would be the most successful secondhand clothing store in Modesto. Brittany, her partner, and their team are doing a fantastic job bringing amazing stuff to people. I was not disappointed by pricing at all. I came in to look and Dude talk about over priced you'd be better off buying second hand online instead. You can get half of the stuff they sell online second hand for way cheaper and way better quality they wanted $150 for shoes that have been chewed off by a dog. I mean if you want to pay over priced things you can come here and spend your hard earned cash. Half of the clothes is stained and bleached and they want almost 70 dollars !??? I saw some shoes with animal feces on the bottom of the soles for the price they ask atleast have the decency to clean your products. read more

I've enjoyed browsing and purchasing items the vendors inside the shop have provided. Unfortunately, the attitude of a female employee and lack of common sense to tell the difference between a family that comes in with a baby and a diaper bag, and someone sketchy with a Jansport has turned me away from stepping foot in there per the girl employees comment of "then you can't shop here" if we didn't put our baby's diaper bag at the counter. She yelled it across the shop; unprofessional. Saying it was "policy" yet nothing was posted about it on the outside upon entry. Would the store be responsible if something happened to our property under her watch? Who knows. Would have given a lower rating, but I can't let one bad apple ruin the bunch since I've had great experiences before and employee John, I believe is his name, has been a pleasure and very helpful to interact with before. read more

Chasing Nostalgia is one of those thrift stores that I love to see because of its variety of product! It's one of my favorite places to find old multimedia & to restore the feeling of my childhood (hence their name being chasing nostalgia). The biggest issues that I have with this store is their prices are ridiculously high when it doesn't need to be. I understand turning profits and the trend of resellers (ruining the love of thrift), but I can't justify spending $60+ on one item. Also, when shopping their clothing, while I know plus size is not easy to find, they have no plus size section. I say this because many thrift stores in Modesto do have a plus size section. Overall, it's a nice store and has so much to choose from. Also, the staff are really nice, but hospitality can't justify the high prices. Especially in this economy. read more

I am updating my review as I have been here quite a few times since my first review 10 months ago. The shop has grown quite a lot. With the growth, new vendors have entered the shop and a lot of items are over priced. They do sale days where you can find some good stuff and it does provide an opportunity for people who normally cant afford the clothes the vendors sale to buy something/support the shop. I have also visited their parking lot pop-ups and you can expect to find some deals there. I know that there is only so much the owners can do but personally, I have cut back on going because I stuggle to find good prices on styles I like. However, the service has remained the same and the owners/employees are very helpful. The colors and overall vibe of the shop is very welcoming! I also appreciate their attempt to bring the community together with their movie nights, game nights and other gatherings. read more

Overpriced and loud. Walked around the store and they were playing very, very loud music. It was giving me a headache. You would think they would price things cheap considering the condition of the majority of the items, but most items were overpriced and dirty. A used Strawberry Shortcake bowl should not be $15; more like $5. Cute store, but probably would never go back. read more

Great place with great products, activities and more! Everything you can think from your childhood pops up here from time to time! Great vintage game and vhs selection along with vintage consoles and vintage clothing! I've gotten a ton a vhs tapes from these guys and have never had an issue with them! Plus every time I come back there's more in there selection! They even have a tattoo artist and bands that come from time to time! And they hose a badass pop events with tons of local vendors! Definitely recommend coming here the next time you're out thrifting! And give their page a follow to keep up with their event schedules!! read more

whoever David d is.. sorry but that's lame ass review. staff and owner and his girl are super chill so maybe you were feeling guilty or somethin; has nothing to do with profiling.. literally anyone can steal or be nuisance in retail/ vintage item holding stores such as this one that is pretty incredible. prices the sectioning and organizational layout is pretty on point to me considering there is a ridiculous amount of amazing clothing collectibles and modern pieces as well; not everything is vintage or pre 2000's. anyways, in conclusion.. do not consider the review "David D" left because this store is setup and owned by cooool cats how bout that review lmao. shop there sell your items there attend the nonstop events and swap meets fallow on IG and learn about everything David clearly hadnt read more
