For example a pajama top similar to the ones worn in the early or mid 1900s, had been ripped and was partially missing its' lace on the side which is still being sold for ten dollars, other pieces such as shirts would also be marked more than or around 20 dollars as if it wasn't already preowned :,) I would understand the pricing if it was from "high end" clothing companies but most of the pieces you could say were from ordinary shops. This thrift store has reasonable prices the prices all thrift store should have. The only downside is that they don't have a lot of men stuff on sale. It seems to hold a lot of women and kids stuff but great finds all around. I was able to talk to the owner. She seemed a bit uninterested but she kept our conversation going. I will say that some of the children's clothes are nice. The adult clothes are mostly awful. Framed Pictures are placed on shelves so high you can't reach them without using a ladder. I have been a regular donor to this Goodwill location for several years, contributing clothing,…read morefurniture, miscellaneous glassware, and other like-new items because I believed in the goodness and integrity of the Goodwill name. But something that recently happened to me there has me very upset. Shortly before closing I went into the store to quickly look for an item and right away I heard the announcement that the store would be closing in five minutes. I looked around and saw no other shoppers so I took my purse from the cart and left. Unfortunately my wallet accidentally slipped out of my purse and stayed in the cart. A few minutes after I left I realized my wallet was missing and immediately went back. The doors were already locked, but after my knocking, two employees, 1 male, 1 female, came to the door. I told them through the door that a few minutes ago I accidentally left my wallet in the cart I had been using and asked if they could please check it. They glanced briefly on the floor but did not check the cart, even though I said that I had just been there. The female employee told me through the locked doors that I had to come back the next day. I explained I'm from out of town, I was just leaving and wouldn't be in town the next day but she still wouldn't look for my wallet which I knew was in the last cart on the cart stand and she was standing right next to it. With no other choice I went back the next morning and the same employee (later identified as "Katie") that was talking to me through the door the night before, was unlocking the doors and opening up. She told me she found my wallet which had been put in the back safe. A manager with red hair then returned it to me. When I got to my car and looked inside I discovered that $160+ in cash was missing. I went back in the store and spoke to "Katie", who said she had opened my wallet "to see if it was something for sale." She showed no concern about the missing cash. The manager "Jennifer" was right there and did not address the issue. This situation is very upsetting, especially because I had returned within minutes the night before and that my wallet had been in employee possession. As the last customer in the store before closing, I believe my wallet was handled solely by store staff. To the employee who said she found my wallet: That money was for my six-year-old granddaughter's birthday gift that I promised her. The next day on her birthday she was in tears, she had her heart set on it. After years of supporting and donating to this store, I never thought something like this would happen. Because this situation involves missing cash while my property was in the possession of store employees, I expect to be contacted regarding the reimbursement of the missing cash, exactly $162. Also for documentation purposes I have filed a police information report regarding the missing cash. Some prices went down, which is great, some went up, but it's also great to see books back, and the every day affordable DVD's. You can glance and see the mountains of things that the workers have to go through and I can only sympathize with them, as you can tell, everyone is working hard. Although I tried to stay away from the store as I have been offended by a staff telling my kids not to sit on the couch, I so believe now that no one mean any harm, and I am happy to be back, just need some self control and not spend hours in this store. .

I am super irritated that this is the second time the Hope Chest has been picky about what they…read morechose to accept as donations. I am not donating poor quality items. The items are in great to excellent shape. My first experience with them as far as donations was when I needed a couch to be picked up. I heard they would pick up items. When I called they gave me the third degree and acted like it had to be brand new for them to pick it up. My couch was perfectly fine to donate and the family who received it was more than happy. Because in the end, I told Hope Chest to just forget it! They obviously didn't want my donation. Well, today I called ahead of time and the person I talked to said, "Make sure you don't have a truck load of donations right before closing!" She didn't say anything about them not accepting toys of any kind. I would not have wasted a trip. I also agree with some of the other posts, their prices are pretty high for a thrift store. Yes, sometimes the manager will work with you. But I don't like to haggle. I would rather just see a good/fair price, pick it up and take it home. I also wish they would have student/teacher discount day like some of the other thrift stores have. It would be nice. :)
