Two lines one to order on the left and pick up and drinks on the right side. I sent my husband to the order line as I stayed in the pick up line, thank goodness I stayed. when he came with the ticket the cashier handed him his receipt and said ok go wait back at the end of the line to pick up your food that would have been another 45 min. In line again. So stupid how hard is it to have a sign that says order first inside then wait in line to pick up. The only reason we would go back is taco tasted good. Just trying to save people some frustration.

Out of all the food trucks parked, they were the only Mexican food truck I saw. Since I wanted a burrito, I decided to check this truck out and give them a try. After looking at the food options, I decided to go with the special. (Breakfast burrito). They guy at the window was on his phone, and when I asked what came on the breakfast burrito he rolled his eyes, as if I should know what came on the burrito. Irritated by me interrupting his text message, he continued typing while saying fries, cheese and pico. I thought to myself, what kind of breakfast burrito is that. So I said, that's it? Another guy popped out the window next to him and said the breakfast burrito has egg, chorizo, fries, cheese, and pico. I appreciated him helping me out since clearly the other guy didn't care. So ordered the breakfast burrito without pico. Couple minutes later he handed me my burrito on a plate with hard greasy, salty chips. Yuck! I thought I'd have better luck with the burrito. Wrong, it was the worst burrito I've tried. And I've had many burritos. First of all, the burrito did not have any fries or any form of potato. Second there was maybe one spoonful of chorizo, hardly anything. Most of the burrito was watery with grease/oil, soggy eggs and cheese. Just out right gross. Couldn't stomach but a few bites, and tossed it all away. Says a lot, because I was hungry. Never again!

I had basically given up on finding a bomb fish taco spot until a friend recommended this place, and now I'm hooked. You definitely gotta try it! The portions are a good size, and honestly, you can't go wrong. Also, the camaron tostadas are straight fire. You can chill and eat at the tables or take it to go. Service is always fast and friendly, making it an easy favorite.

El Prieto (Main St, San Diego) Rating: 2.5 / 5 Stars…read more I really wanted to enjoy my visit to El Prieto, but unfortunately, the experience was a series of "almosts" that didn't quite land. Here is the breakdown of my recent meal: The Food The kitchen missed the mark on a few basics. My bistec ranchero was underwhelming; the sauce was overly "tomatoey," lacking the deep, savory complexity or spice you expect from a solid ranchero. To make matters worse, the rice served on the side was noticeably cold, which is always a disappointment. The Drinks The beverage situation was equally frustrating. I was surprised to find that the bar offers no wine options at all. I decided to pivot to an Arnold Palmer, which ended up being the worst version of the drink I've ever had--the proportions were completely off. Service & Atmosphere The service felt lacking throughout the night, with very little attention paid to the table. Most off-putting, however, is the policy stated on the menu: a 45-minute window to eat. It's hard to relax and enjoy a meal when you feel like you're being timed by the staff. Verdict Between the cold sides, a limited bar, and the rushed atmosphere created by the time limit, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to return. There are too many great spots in San Diego to settle for a 45-minute countdown.

Not really a food truck. More like a truck with a trailer behind it…read more Whatever--this is OUTSTANDING Mexican seafood. The prices are high. Much higher than you would expect from a trailer/truck that looks like this. But the food is very, very good. We tried the lobster quesadilla, a shrimp burrito, and 3 street chicken street tacos. The tacos were 3 for $9 but were packed with delicious, fresh chicken. The shrimp burrito (about $15, yikes) was not small but not enormous but it was PACKED with incredibly fresh shrimp. Both the quesadilla and the burrito had an amazing smoky flavor to them. You can get enormous crappy burritos from any old taco shop for about $8 or $9. The shrimp burrito was pricey but terrific. You make the call. I would return.

That being said, I ordered the "wild" grilled mahi mahi fish burrito for $7.00. The burrito came with freshly prepared pico de gallo with mango, shredded cabbage, a house chipotle sauce, and of course the griddled mahi mahi fish all wrapped in a soft warm tortilla. The burrito was quite tasty and the pico with the chopped and cubed mango pieces was great, but as whole, the burrito did need more mahi mahi because the burrito was just not generously filled as it should of been. The mahi mahi was well seasoned and prepared, perhaps a little over, but still was moist and tender. Regardless of the what I felt was a lack of fish, it still was a very good burrito. I tried all three of their salsa that came in the plastic squeeze bottles and they were all terrific and packed some very good heat. The gents who own El Shrimp Bucket are from Mazathlan and still have family back home that run and own a fishery that specializes in shrimp. They receive only the best Mexican White Shrimp from the fishery, so next time, I for see a pile of unshelled and cooked shrimp sitting in front of me.
