I was recommended to I&E Cabinets by from a friend of mine whom had her kitchen done with I and E Cabinets a few years back. I requested an estimate and was interviewed by the estimator for hours in order to make sure he understood all my needs correctly. He was very knowledgeable, polite, and professional. Since I did not have a designer and it was my first time doing a kitchen I was very confused with all the choices in front of me. I and E was able to narrow down my choices and guide me in the direction with respect to my budget. I have two small children which makes renovation very difficult. I wanted my kitchen to be special. These guys came out to measure, drew it up quickly and emailed me the drawings. I had a few changes too after that. They fabricated it beautifully in white oak, and it's all installed. Very reasonable prices too. We tore down and remodeled our entire kitchen from scratch. We also got a massive master bathroom double vanity, sleek modern design; and, boy, did I & E deliver! The lead designer was with us on every step of the way, from design concept, through material choice, to actual construction, and even finishing and cleaning up. Horrible company. Pricing seemed fine - but people they sent were NEVER on time. Expect to waste a lot of time on the phone leaving messages. A simple cabinet project took close to 2 months -- a local cabinet maker can do it in 10 days at 2/3 the cost. Draft guy mis measured the wall by 13 inches!! The company never gave any apology or discount. Finished job was okay, but not for the pain and price. Keep your sanity -- look for another company. read more

I used them in November of 2004 for a kitchen cabinet refacing project. The sales lady was very nice. The project started late as the installers had difficulty finding my home. Over the course of the 2+-day project, I phoned my project manager several times to try and get an answer to a single question and he refused to call me back. The installer even acknowledged that my call was received and was intentionally being ignored. I called sales but they did not call me back either. Basically, they had my money so they were no longer interested. 5 years later, the refacing is beginning to peel off in places. I have contacted them several times regarding this and they refuse to find time to come and repair. read more

Installation was time consuming, and there were quite a few mistakes. It took 10 phone calls to get them to come back and fix the errors. My cabinets are now only a few years old, and the surface is peeling off on parts of the drawers and doors. I called the company, and although there is a 10 year warranty on my contract, he will not honor it. read more

I was in the process of buying another income property. During my time in escrow, I was working with Kas at I&E Cabinets, I needed the kitchen, the half bath and master bedroom all new cabinets and countertops. Kas was able to deliver on-time designs and quotes that worked within my budget, which also led to do demo and installation times to be on-time as well. I have worked with other vendors in the past and had to be constantly hounding them for where they were at. I only needed to communicate with Kas to be notified of project deliverables. BeWARE of this company, they only train the sales team to collect your $$$ but when it comes to doing the work, they are by far one of the worst cabinet shops i have worked for. For new kitchens they will deliver just Boxes on the first day of install with no drawers and no doors, at this point they have collected 85% to 90% 0f payment of whole job. From there your job will take for ever to complete not mentioning that their drafting person makes mistake after mistake only prolonging you kitchen finish date. read more

I made the mistake of hiring one of this company's representatives without doing my research because he gave me the impression he was genuinely concerned about my needs as a new home owner. However, the experience was absolutely unnerving. The job was only supposed to take one week and it stretched into two months. I was forced to literally hound the guy to get my money's worth which fell far short given the disastrous outcome that included a damaged bath tub and shower, paint all over my doors and brand new towel racks and toilet paper holder, etc. As always, consumers get what they pay for and this company's representatives are charlatans at best. read more

Very pushy salesman. I felt like he was just saying what I wanted to hear so he could sign me up.

Strongly advise against using them. They will put a kitchen in and get 90% done but the last 10% takes forever. Perfection is not in their rulebook. As are most contractors, getting the fine finishing elements done gets delayed and a 1 month kitchen install takes 3 months. Also, their warranty service is non-existent. I've been trying to get warranty service on my kitchen since 2011! I've sent photos and they've answered the phone stating that they would schedule an appointment and no one ever calls. Beware a guy named Stewart--he'll never call you back. I had a guy come out to take photos and STILL this never got to an appointment that they scheduled or delivered on. I love the bathroom vanity and kitchen cabinets that they did in my home. The installer was very helpful with answering my MANY questions and the project manager was very pleasant to speak to and kept me up to speed on the different stages of the installation and staining of my cabinets. I & E cabinets recently completed cabinets for my kitchen as part of a complete kitchen remodel. I had never done a remodel before so I was apprehensive based on some bad experiences that people I've known have had in the past. Bottom line......I give I & E cabinets an A+ on the cabinet work done. I visited their shop in Van Nuys a few times and was very impressed with their staff. Two visits stand out to me; 1- I met the shop/projects manager(Eddie)who really impressed me when he took me to the area when the cabinets are constructed and answered all my questions even though he was very busy and was not expecting to meet with me that morning. 2- The owner (Izzie) agreed to meet with my wife on a Saturday morning after finding out her work schedule would not allow for a mid week visit.He answered all her questions that day. We agreed to sign their contract that morning. Their price was very fair for the design we requested and the cabinets we wanted for the kitchen. Izzy's wife is the office manager and handled all the paper work in a professional manner. I need to give Eddie special kudos for his effort with me throughout the project. He made everything work from when I first met him to when the cabinets were delivered to the house. He is the ultimate professional in his field. The installer, Hugo, did a great job with the installation. Important for me to say that in a job like we had 'things' happen. What really impressed me was Eddie took care of any items that needed to be taken care of quickly and made sure we were very satisfied at the end of our job. This company does not stand behind their product, has terrible customer service, does not return phone calls or e-mail, makes empty promises and NEVER follows through. I purchase over $13,000 worth of cabinets which less than 5 years later are falling apart. They were never installed correctly, the door fronts are falling apart and the laminate (which was suppose to be hardwood) on the end caps is lifting, is cracked and a mess. The president and the vp of sales, do not return calls, nor does the office staff! The last repair guy out, on his first day of work took a cabinet door and it still has not been returned, that was over 6 months ago! If you are considering this company be warned, DO NOT! We got several quotes before calling I & E. They were the low bidder (It pays to negotiate.) and did really good work. I had even visited their shop before agreeing to have them do the work. We had a difficult project, but everything, including a customized stain color, was done to our satisfaction. We have a large kitchen, and the work took more than two weeks, but workers were here every day and put in long hours. I saw they went beyond simply getting the work done and getting out the door. Our installer was particularly competent. More than six months after the installation, I noticed a problem on one of the cabinet doors. I called the company, and they sent someone out within two weeks and replaced the door at no charge. They stand behind their work. Sometimes it took more than one phone call to get a response, but I believe I & E makes a good faith effort to satisfy the customer. read more

This is my second 5-star review. After doing an amazing refacing of my kitchen cabinets with stunning walnut, I was thrilled with the results and service I received. I especially liked the follow-up response to attend to every detail until I was 100% satisfied. Then, a week or so later, I realized I didn't get soft close doors. I thought I had discussed it with the salesperson and went back to my contract to see. It seemed to indicate that I was going to receive them, but I wasn't certain. I had economized and couldn't remember if I had nixed them at the last minute. I called the salesperson Karina and left her a message. She called me back immediately and said that regardless of what my contract said, I would get the soft-close doors and they would install them within a few days - and they did! Now my cabinets are perfect. I just had a party last night and my friends were blown away. They think I spent a fortune and in reality, I got an amazing deal from I&E. The refacing job looks like brand new cabinets. You would never know they used the original boxes, with new doors and drawer fronts and handles. Ignore the bad reviews from 2 years ago. The owner bent over backwards to help and deal with any little problem. All the workers were very professional. I liked my kitchen so much I had them do a custom walk in closet. It is perfection. The stain and varnish on the cabinets are already peeling and chipping away. Supposedly the cabinets are under warranty but I've called and emailed them for the past six months to no avail. This company did my cabinets back in 2007. Good job! However, beginning in about 2015 my wife and I started noticing some peeling away of the laminate in different areas. Finally, because we,want to sell the house, I called them. Very un-professional answering recording! I left a message, no call back. They found me in their system but for some reason wanted me to snap a photo of my contract which contained the warranty. I thought that was strange but I sent them a copy via messaging. They also wanted me to send photos of the the,areas of concern. I complied. Now they will not return my phone calls. According to my contract the 10 yrs. For workmanship ends in Oct. 2017. I plan to file a complaint with BBB. read more

The installer worked every day including Saturday and Sunday, he was very meticulous and clean and finished the project (that also included restroom cabinets!!) in 8 days to OUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION!!! Okay, to be fair, I used this company about five years ago. If they fired just about everyone who worked there and started from scratch with employees who know what they are doing, then maybe they are fine now. If not, seriously beware about using this company. The guy that came out to install our cabinets on the first day literally had no experience hanging cabinets. It was his first day on the job and he had had no training. He had no clue what to do, so he finally left. The second guy they sent out knew how to hang cabinets, but didn't know how to use his brain. I would tell him that he was putting the cabinets in the wrong place and he would tell me that "he knew how to to his job" and that basically, I didn't know what I was talking about (hello, it is my kitchen and I think that I know what should go where). I finally had to call his supervisor and have him come out and stop him from making a mess out of my kitchen! They finally sent a supervisor out to finish the job - it was not a fun experience to work with this company. read more

Salesman is great at talking a big game, but when it came time to perform I&E was extremely disappointing. Their communication is POOR as it resulted in a late start date, incorrect designs by designer, incorrect measurements by draftsman, paint that had to be redone over and over, and the project took three times as long to complete as quoted. Dealing with I&E was the biggest headache of my life. The subs complained to me that I&E wasn't paying them. This is always a bad sign. I do not recommend using this company. read more

Where should I start? Their "designer" is in fact only a cabinet specifier. Since they are building "custom cabinets," their designer should spec cabinets to fit your contents. In the end, only one cabinet will accommodate dinner plates. And God forbid that they construct a bookcase for cook books! And utility closet shelves are too shallow for supplies. After quizzing the "designer" about closet build-outs, which are hardly a stretch and probably more profitable than their kitchen offerings, he said absolutely not. However, once my job was completed, here comes a flyer in the mail with a closet offering. Their "designer," frankly, provides no design services, so that's fraudulent. Designer also took responsibility for glass front cabinet, yet to this day, no glass has been provided. More fraud. And tile/countertop referral from the "designer" was another greasy one. Client contact kid was a bully and clearly out to push the customer around -- make money for the principals at the expense of client relations, that's the ticket! CAD guy was competent and accommodating. Had way too much brouhaha on cabinet hinges, and I had to do all the research for them. Installers and custom finish guys did a good job. Identical to other reviewers, I&E was big on getting their checks, but ho-hum on client service. See the lawsuits coming their way! read more

I am very disappointed to find out that this company does not stand behind its product. I had my kitchen cabinets resurfaced by them about 8 years ago. Now the hinges are all breaking one by one so I called the company to give me an estimate for what it would cost to repair or replace the hinges. I spoke with someone named Mike several times but he would never set up an appointment to have someone come out. He said the owner lived near me and would have him call me to come take a look over the weekend. This never happened. I called back and finally got the owner to call me and he said he would come over the next weekend but I never heard from him again. This went on for several weeks so I've given up and will find someone else to fix the hinges before all the cabinet doors fall off! read more

Even though my cabinets were done 8 days after expected, here are the reasons I'm giving them 4 stars: 1. Despite the problems, I really believe they bent over backwards to get my cabinets done correctly, and as timely as possible. I felt like they took care of me. I understand how frustrating it can be when your phone calls aren't being answered, but the best way to communicate, especially if you have a complaint, is via email or text. Always get everything documented. 2. The installer even came out on 2 Saturdays because he wanted to finish my cabinets. 3. The installer is fast, so definitely look over his work. A few things I caught was a very uneven board installed on top of my island (not flat enough for the granite to be installed on). One corner needed to be adjusted as it wasn't at a perfect right angle, he also didn't caulk between my cabinets and ceiling. Every one of these complaints were fixed immediately after sending an email to Izzie, the owner, who stepped in when he saw my kitchen was not completed as planned. 4. The one thing they can improve on is the communication with the painter they used. I live about 40 minutes from their office in Van Nuys. I was more than willing to bring the color samples to them. But instead they said the painter would come out, mix the paint at my house and would adjust it until I was satisfied. Well this didn't happen. In fact the painter brought me one color sample which I rejected. He took my color samples, took all my doors off and brought them to his shop to be primed. He came back in a couple days with my doors primed, a color sample that I approved and started painting the boxes at my house. This took the entire day, so he went home, painted my doors at his shop and brought them back in a couple days. 5. The number one reason I am recommending them, is that my cabinets turned out so beautiful. I can't believe I paid the same price that I would've at Home Depot, but got these gorgeous custom made cabinets. Maybe this company isn't for everyone. If you are impatient, need to have things done right the first time, and not good with emailing, maybe this company isn't for you. But if you want beautiful cabinets at a very competitive price and willing to watch over the production like a hawk, you will be very happy with your end product. read more

These guys are a joke. My small kitchen that they estimated would take 2 weeks ended up taking 7 months to complete. At first they were very apologetic, but after the months dragged on and it was clearly their lack of competence in organizing the project, not the subcontractors who they tried to blame, they became less concilliatory. David the cabinet guy was the only one who came on time and finished on schedule. The never lined up installers for the different parts of the project until it was actually time to get it done, then ended up changing some subcontractors after they started so the new person would need to come out, take measurements and basically start from scratch. So a month and a half for countertops to get done, two weeks to install the sink 2.5 mo th's (over the holidays) to find a tile guy, thrown in my 2 week vacation, a miscut door, unevev staining that needed to be redone, etc etc etc and next thing you know the two week project is going past 6 months! Never again would I use these incompetent fools. read more
