Came in needing help with my motherboard and he was very helpful and didn't even charge to get the screws up that were in too tight. They also had thermal paste which can be hard to find in a pinch. Will definitely be coming back here for an emergency computer needs! read more

I honestly never write reviews... I don't think I ever have before this but my experience was that good. I am a spin instructor and lost ALL of my music. In a complete panic a friend recommended me to this place. From the moment I called, the staff took care of me and made me feel assured that they would do whatever it took to save my hard drive. They are dedicated to finding a solution and work endlessly for their clientele-- you can tell when you step foot into their store. Extremely easy to work with and keep you updated by the hour. Special shoutout to Darren (the owner) he worked until 11pm to finish my computer and got it back in my hands within 24 hours at a VERY affordable price. I-5 Computers were recommended to me. I had a printer problem, and took it down to them. They told me they don't normally do hardware repair for printers, however, while I was there, he took a look at it, and made it work. Really nice guy. I appreciate him taking the time even though it wasn't part of their normal service. Look forward to using them when I need something more in line with their business. read more

A great local business! These guys are great. Friendly, fair, and enjoyable to work with. They fixed my laptop quickly when it wouldn't turn on. When I got my laptop back a few days later, it was not only working, but clean as the day I bought it. They had cleaned the screen, cover, and even the keyboard as part of their service. One word of advice, call before you come in if it's late in the day. These guys are a small (2 person) business and they occasionally have to run out to do emergency on-site repairs. It's worth putting up with that minor inconvenience to support a local small business. read more

We brought our laptop in with the lights flickering briefly but not powering on. The gentleman spent about an hour trying to figure out what was wrong and didn't charge us when he determined he wouldn't be able to fix it without expensive parts. While we were waiting an elderly man came in with a printer question and he helped him without charge as well. He insisted we didn't need to pay and was very nice and helpful! I purchased a video card on OfferUp, the guy selling it is the owner of the shop. I thought it was strange that he was selling the card on OfferUp, since he had a shop & strange that he didn't want to meet at the shop. But I brought a 1080ti @ $700, took it home, turned it on & it fires up. I shut it down & turned it on the next day, it works, I got to update the driver & it crashes, with black screen. I try to get ahold of him on the app, he won't answer. He ignored me for 10 days, then finally answers & tells me to bring it by his shop. The he said he can't get it to show a picture, I told he that this was the problem. He offered me to fix it. I was like, how is that fair, so he offers to fix it for me, for free, 3-5weeks & gave me a receipt It's now been 8-9weeks, while I called every week or so, far an update. Was told it was done on the 5th week, but no pickup date available, kept calling. Today he answered, said he lost my number, lost his copy of the receipt. Even thought he has my contact info from OfferUp, text, calls & receipt. But no contact, now the card is defective, he is accusing me of tampering with it, & refuses any compensation for the fraudulent product. I still have my copy of receipt. He was quick to point blame at me & even quicker to deny responsibility for it. He gets $700 for a brick he sold me. If you look through the bad reviews of the company, the owner replies with Grammer & responses of a high school drama queen. Very childish for a grown man. This is the worst experience, the only thing the can fix is basic repairs, as they had me wait for hours to be seen, & I watch the "repair" service they offer. I wish I could give 0 stars. !!!DO NOT COME TO THE RIP OFF ARTIST/SCALPER!!! read more

So fancy that there was no plug and play, so I called and Darren came out the same night and set us up. He also transferred data from old computer, and took it away for us after wiping the hard drive (it was from 2005!) Darren is incredibly efficient and his hourly rate is rock bottom for expert work. I needed a circuit board repaired, and it was something for my low fuel light on my car. I called a couple of places after I googled looking for repair when I called I five computers the first voice I heard was a very inviting intelligent helpful courteous voice. I explain to them what I needed which was a bit odd for them but they said come on down and they'll take a look. So I went right over and as soon as I walked in I met the receptionist and I could tell instantly she was the one I talk to on the phone extremely helpful. They took a very good look at it and noticed that there were some cracks in the Sauter so they said they could fix it while I waited but I said I needed to go and I would pick it up later because I was late they called while I was on my way to an appointment and I picked it up that night at no charge because they couldn't guarantee that it would work. I would like to highly recommend I-5 Computer repair shop in Vancouver, WA. Both Darren and Jeff are very helpful and have repaired all my computer ills quickly and cheaply. In fact, on two occasions, I was not charged anything, even after they spent quite a bit of time with my equipment! Sometimes they fixed the problem while I waited and even took time to talk--very friendly. The shop is also convenient as it is right downtown with plenty of parking. I recently moved to Portland but will still take my computer problems across the river to I-5 Computers. They are that friendly and good. read more

If you need anything done to your computer, or need a refurbished computer/laptop, this is the place!!! This guy stayed until almost midnight fixing our computer... He saved all of our family photos!!! We thought we were going to lose them all. Nope! I can't thank this establishment and owner enough for his help. For the price, there's no way anyone else would have done even half of what he did for us that night. He fixed a boot up issue, saved our files, fixed a memory issue, fixed a key, and removed tons of viruses. This past November we discovered that our HP Split X 2-in-1 (laptop computer that can be separated from the keyboard to function as a tablet) had cracked screen. Our daughter used it nearly exclusively for her school work as well as leisure viewing and play. As she has Autism, the touch screen and familiarity of the device were the driving factors behind us seeking repair of the cracked screen as opposed to replacing it entirely (the computer is about 2 years old with an original price tag around $800.00). We spoke to two local computer repair shops who recommended I-5 Computers for the repair. When we dropped off the computer it was in perfect working order with the exception of having a cracked screen. The crack made our daughter apprehensive about using the tablet (she thought it would "cut" her). The owner assured us he could repair the screen and gave us two price options, one to order the part locally which was more expensive but quicker or to order the part from Asia which was less expensive but took longer. The importance of the device to our child made us choose the more expensive option. The price was to be $230.00 and was estimated to take 2 weeks for repair. Nearly 3 weeks into the process, having not heard a word from the shop, my husband called to check on progress and was told it would be ready the next day. Upon picking up the computer, my husband noticed that some of the icons were "swapped" - you would touch "share" on the touch screen and the internet would pop up, etc. Things were clearly not functioning properly. He took the computer and left because of time constraints. He paid for the repair at that point and was told that if there was anything wrong they would "make it right". When he got home and was able to further inspect the system and it was clear that the problem was deeper than he realized, the touch screen was not even responding to touch consistently. He called I 5 and was assured again that they would fix the problem. The next day, he returned to the shop and explained the touch screen glitches. The owner picked up his cell phone and placed a call presumably to the person who actually did the work. After a few minutes he exclaimed "crap" to the person he was talking to, hung up the phone and immediately refunded our money saying he couldn't fix it. Apparently there was a part that regulates the touchscreen that was either missing or damaged. He even went as far as to suggest that we just sell it on Craigslist! To be clear, we were perfectly happy to pay for the new digitizer that was installed. However, we need the device to function as it did when it was taken to the shop. If they can't fix a problem that they created, they should replace the device - end of story! We have repeatedly tried to make contact with the ownership of this business and have been left with unreturned calls (which I have logged) and employees directly telling my husband to "take his business elsewhere" and that they "were done" with us. I understand that accidents happen -- clearly this was not an intentional destruction of our property. However, as a repair business, don't you have a responsibility to your customers to return things better than or at least equal to how they were brought to you? Isn't that the nature of repair? I use the analogy that if I took my car that was a couple of years old but mechanically sound to a shop to have the window repaired and upon picking it up discover that the window is fixed but the car doesn't start, that would be unacceptable to me as a customer. It would also be unprofessional and I believe not legally sound to not take responsibility for the repair that now is needed due to poor practices. Our next step is the Better Business Bureau followed by filing with small claims court as they seem uninterested in making this right. It is SO disappointing to support a local business and be treated this way. We are not asking for anything unreasonable, I just wish they would participate in a dialogue regarding this. I am posting here in hopes that it will make the management/ownership of this company respond. I will wait for a response for one week until I proceed as stated above. In the meantime DO NOT take your computer to I 5 Computers for repair. They are unscrupulous, unprofessional and cannot be trusted to properly repair your merchandise. read more
