Corner "double room with view" - #22
    Chris C.

Chose this hotel for our first night in Paris mainly for the convenient location - we were arriving after a very long flight so wanted a place easy to get to - preferably a straight shot on the airport train from CDG with no transfer and close to the station. This hotel totally met these requirements. It's right across the street from the nearest exit (there are quite a few exits for this stop, St Michel Notre Dame - be sure to follow signs for Norte Dame). The hotel is right on the corner, checkin/lobby on second - so will have to lug any baggage up a flight of narrow stairs from the street entrance. From the lobby there is a shoebox sized elevator - just enough for 2 people or 2 suitcases but not all together. Room we booked was "double with view of river or Notre Dame" and actually got both - as ours was on the corner (worth paying a bit more as the view was great). Room is very small, as expected (the photos on the booking sites are quite realistic so no surprises there), quaintly decorated with colorful wall mural, furry throw pillows/bed covers and comfortable bed. Bathroom will fit one person at a time but updated with good shower and nice individual bath products. In terms of location not just convenient to the station but to everything, this being the Latin Quarter, with shops and restaurants galore, including many large and small grocery stores all with in walking distance. Hotel offers a continental breakfast for an additional 10 euros in the lobby but we didn't try it as I preferred a hot breakfast. There is no coffee maker in the room - an inconvenience (no space for it really) however you could ask the desk staff to heat things up for you in their microwave which I did and it worked well. Another thing to note is that while the windows are well insulated you don't hear too much street noise but they can't shut out the sound of police car or ambulance sirens which are frequent and loud - less at night but during the day there will be no peace and quiet.

I stayed at this hotel during my first visit to Paris for three nights. It was designed by Christian LaCroix! It's quite cool, and very psychedelic in a way. The wallpaper, fabrics, etc, are all mismatched and quirky, like this designs. It's located in a great area, especially for tourists - it is catty-corner from Notre Dame and on the border of St. Germain and the Latin Quarter. It's also right across the street from the RER line, so you can get here easily with 45 minutes from CDG and 20 minutes from the train station. There is a small staircase you have to go up to bring your luggage, and a very small elevator to use to get to your room. You are able to store your luggage if you can't check in, or need to leave your luggage if you check out and plan on coming back to pick up your luggage later, for free. We were able to check in early, and stayed in room 32. I posted a picture here. It overlooks Notre Dame and the Seine. There are also views of a courtyard, which we didn't see. Some might find it loud - I live in a busy area in the Bay Area so I'm used to noise, and it didn't bother me, but, if you're looking for a quiet experience, stay at the courtyard rooms. Anyway, the staff was friendly and efficient. You leave your key with them when you leave, so don't forget! They do serve breakfast, but, we slept in generally so we missed it. There are lots of restaurants around the area, and it's easy to walk around. And honestly - it never gets old waking up and seeing Notre Dame out the window! The bed was very comfortable, each room has it's own temperature control (sometimes not the case in Europe), and yes, the rooms are small (no problem for me, as I am a tiny person). I also requested a shower, and it was quite nice and very contemporary. My only complaint is that the complimentary bathroom items appeared to have been used previous, which I just threw in the trash and the cleaning staff left new bottles. I enjoyed my stay. I probably will stay in a different area next time (closer into St. Germain perhaps), but, I did enjoy it. A wonderful introduction to Paris.

This is a nice hotel. The location is fantastic. I think we were unlucky though. We booked a room with a view over the Notre Dame, and got the one that has to be the least nice one of their rooms. We got room number 62 wich had a stunning view, but the windows we're really small (it's a room in the attic) and we had to stand up right in front of the windows to be able to see anything. The roof is angled, since we are in the attic, and the area were you can move around is v e r y limited. The bathroom was a joke, we had to sit down in the bathtub to take a shower since the roof didnt allow any of us to stand up, and my partner who is tall, had to crouch his back and lean towards the bath tub to be able to sit down on the wc. Not nice. The view is great though. But avoid the rooms in the attic, not worth the money. Breakfast is 10 euro. Since we're used to norwegian prices we found that reasonable. The service at breakfast was excellent, and we got plenty of bread and pastry. Why bother walking around in the quartier latin looking for an alternative at 7,90 then?

    Right outside the building view!

I had a great trip. A sweet place in a great location. Fun nightlife right behind the building. Easy access to the tour bus, metro and right on the river. Really nice people working there and couldn't do more for us. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 wonderful days in Paris. The hotel personnel couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The room was just what I was anticipating- not the big, sprawling American style but quaint and endearing. The view of the Seine and Notre Dame was spectacular and the location lent itself to walking the city which, truly, is the only way to really get to know Paris. We hated to leave. If you truly want the Parisian experience, stay here.

Although I had a rear side room, so no view of the street, I was very happy with it. The windows were able to open to the other building however you could have coffee by the window and the room was incredibly private. The blackout curtains were a game changer too! I slept peacefully each night and although the rooms aren't large, they use every inch of the space and was very well planned out. The breakfast was actually one of my favorite parts about being here. You are able to have breakfast in your room or downstairs in the breakfast room. The breakfast rooms decor was lovely and I looked forward to my breakfast every morning! Highly recommend, the staff is lovely and the hotel is clean and my favorite small hotel I have stayed at thus far in Paris. The location is awesome, there are many places to eat and shop (must go vintage shopping while in the area as well).

We had a double room with a small balcony that faced the street. It was perfect in every way. The employees were so kind and helpful and spoke beautiful English to our sad French (but we tried!). We did 4 days in Paris and 4 days in the Loire Valley, returning to Paris for our last night. After staying here during the first part of our trip, I cancelled our 2nd Paris hotel and rebooked this one for our last night. It was that perfect. We can't wait to return and without question we will stay here again. Many thanks to the staff at Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais for making our stay so lovely.

After a lot of researching and back and forth I selected Hotel Diana for my 4 night stay in Paris…read more I booked directly through their website which was super easy. I selected the queen size bed room - my close friend selected the full size bed room. We arrived in the early evening and check in was quick. Fortunately the lift /elevator was working as we had a lot of luggage it all fit as well as myself . The room was small and basic, which I expected being in downtown Paris. The bathroom was simple with a bathtub shower combo. The bed was comfortable and there was a working a/c however it didn't really get the room super cold but kept it comfortable for summer. Fortunately the heat wave was over by the time we arrived. Tne bathroom did get very warm if you were styling your hair or doing your makeup. I would suggest bringing a small portable fan with you if coming in tne summer . The location is the selling point of this hotel. Walking distance to so many cute restaurants and cafes. 5 minute walk to Notre Dame and the Sienne River. Felt perfectly safe walking around day or night even solo. Usually there were young men working the front desk. They were always polite however I wish they were able to provide a little more suggestions where to go or how to get around for a first time visitor. Great budget hotel in the 5th.

The room that we had was relatively spacious, with a double bed and some room to move around. The mattress was very comfortable and linens were perfectly clean (no gross bed covering that you typically find in hotels). There was also a relatively spacious bathroom with a nice bath tub (a good find in Paris). The room had quiet, perfectly-working AC and the Wifi was free. There was also a safe in the room. We were basically on a roll. The room also had double windows, which eliminated the noise from the adjacent street (this was amazing). The location is also quite nice. It's in the Latin quarter, walking distance from Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Sorbonne. Metro access is easy as well, in fact it is on a direct RER B line from CDG airport (station St.Michele) Plus, I haven't even gotten to the best part, which was the breakfast. It was 8 euros, and there was a plentiful selection of breads, jams, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, and cereals. All was super tasty. Plus the coffee and hot chocolate were delicious, brought out in small cute pitchers so you could have a nice servicing. We went all around France during our trip and I still remember the drinks there. Yummy. Overall, the price was right, the location was good, and the rooms were great. I would recommend it to anyone.

Heated mirror in the restroom and the HVAC was good. Comfortable bed. Service was friendly - excellent welcome by Floridita (I may have her name wrong) but she gave us a tour of the important areas of the hotel when we arrived and consistently greeted us every day when she saw us. Maid service and turn down services were also friendly as were the bellmen. Only negatives: our room faced the direction of the Louvre and on Friday night there were street performers singing until close to 1am. Wasn't a problem on the other nights. Also, Brasserie du Louvre, the fancy restaurant in the hotel, was a disappointment. Overall though we would stay there again next trip.

Our bedroom was spacious, the bed nice and perfectly made, the bathroom was also beautifully decorated, and comfortable with good products. We stayed a week, the room rates are steep, but for the lovely rooms, amenities and location it receives 3 full marks, the 4th star was the service team at L'officine that single-handedly made me reconsider and ultimately saved them from a lower " grade ". We had an unfortunate incident with the concierge service, whose staff member was not interested in giving us specific instructions. They were dismissive of my husband (who doesn't speak French) when he asked for directions to the bank for foreign exchange. I had to return to the hotel and speak to her directly in French to get results. We were, for the most part, impressed by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff at their bar, as I mentioned above they were the reason I found all their front of the house redeeming qualities I'm not sure if I will stay here or try a different hotel- jury is out. For certain, I'll go back to their lovely bar.
