The intention of this public Google review is to show how unkind, un-humane this hotel (Hôtel Duminy Vendôme) is. Please read on as we are enraged by this behavior and the decision made by this hotel staffing and management : Sarah Beuriot (the Director), Celia and Mailys from the front desk as well (whom might just be following direction from the hotel management). But this way of treating clients who always come to PARIS many times - this is beyond rude, cruel and unkind. It is an awful disappointment and truly disgusting way of treating your guests. Myself + my husband travel to PARIS all the time every year for many years. We usually always stay at Hotel Royal Saint Honore (right next door to Hôtel Duminy Vendôme) for years now. But they closed down for renovation and suggest for us to stay at Hôtel Duminy Vendôme. So I did stay at Hôtel Duminy Vendôme once earlier this year and I had a great experience (I am a very fair and honest person) I really liked the hotel, so I booked again this time to stay at Hôtel Duminy Vendôme for December 2025 for the holidays with my husband. We are going to Paris and Megeve this month and we booked all of our travel (all flights and hotels - all are non-refundable) since we know we are going to spend holidays with our family there, of course, super excited to go to Paris! Unfortunately, my husband had an urgent medical surgery a few days ago (see attached photo OFFICIAL LETTER from Doctor and Hospital). He has a retina detachment from his eye (a very serious condition), he cannot see, he cannot travel or move. He is REQUIRED to keep his head down for this month. We MUST stay in USA for entire December per medical Doctor's order. Because of this urgent situation, we are truly sadden but must cancel all of our plans. We were able to successfully cancel everything (even if it's Non-refundable) - all Airlines, all trains, Megeve hotel, all canceled and honored us a FULL REFUND without any questions at all. EXCEPT THIS HOTEL Hôtel Duminy Vendôme. I emailed them a few times asking for an exception due to this situation beyond our control, my husband cannot travel on a flight due to urgent surgery. I called them already a few times these few days. BUT the staff (while they were professional) refused to let me speak to Sarah their director. They told me Sarah and management is VERY strict with their policy and must follow their rules. They are sorry for our situation but will still CHARGE us FULLY for the stay even when I presented an OFFICIAL Doctor and hospital letter. I have also share here their email response here. I understand the non-refundable policy. I travel all the time around the world for so many years. I understand there are policy in place to avoid people canceling all the time/avoiding refund. BUT our situation is NOT A NORMAL canceling. We are REQUIRED BY MEDICAL DOCTOR to NOT TRAVEL. We simply cannot be there. This is a situation where I truly believe a GOOD HOTEL and GOOD MANAGEMENT would review and understand to honor an exception for a CANCEL and FULL REFUND for us. From this situation, we see clearly that this hotel - Hôtel Duminy Vendôme - its management/staffing do not understand anything about exceptional client service. They failed to understand what long term relationship means. They failed to understand their clients and their needs. In this case, we have a situation required by medical to not travel. Being human to human, they should honor a full refund and review it case by case. Hôtel Duminy Vendôme - while their rooms and location are amazing. But their people when it comes to client services - it is a lack of class, lack of human understanding and lack of empathy. They value money (bookings) over clients' experience in this case. By doing this, they now lost any future stays we will book there. Also anyone reading this should STOP booking anything from them. The Duminy was our last hotel after traveling around Europe for a month. What a delightful end to our trip! Perfectly located for visiting all the famous landmarks and many wonderful restaurants were nearby. The coup d'etat was the cleanliness-impeccable. Many boutique hotels have ambiance, but cut corners with cleanliness. The sheets were crisp and bright, carpets clean and the bathroom, although small, looked brand new. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we were in a hurry to get out and about every morning. We would be thrilled to stay again and highly recommend this great hotel. Tip: The neighborhood is very upscale, yet had a local feel and everyone said it was very safe. A bit of a walk to metro. read more

I really liked staying here. The room and bathroom were so clean and the location was just amazing and I felt safe there. The staff was really kind and friendly, but they could be a bit better about knowing where to go for certain restaurants/food. I had a foot issue and I called for ice and they brought it up immediately. I was on the top floor and at night it sounded like someone was dropping heavy things on the floor above even though there wasn't a floor above me. This wasn't constant, just a couple times but odd. The biggest con for me was the lack of hot water no matter which time I showered. The water was just lukewarm and not nice considering how cold it was outside. The cons are so minor I would definitely stay here again, especially since the rooms were just so clean. read more

This was an unplanned stay due to a flight delay. The location is superb, but the rooms are beyond tiny. Not even enough room to swing a cat. Everything is brand new and clean which was its saving grace. The lobby is beautiful and check in agent was very friendly. It was pouring and the front desk kindly loaned me an umbrella. You can walk to many places including Tuileries Garden which is practically a stone throws away and iconic eats including the original Angelina. read more

I loved this hotel. We arrived prior to check in so the front desk lady allowed us to leave our luggage there so we could walk around the city. It's close to EVERYTHING Metro train. Buses. There's a grocery store within 5 minute walking distance The rooms are super clean. Only thing is upon checkout the front desk man said he had reserved a shuttle for us to go to the airport. We woke up extra early then he said drivers were on strike, even though we saw several groups leave minutes before us in taxis and shuttles. He told us he could give my friends a ride for 75 euros. no thank u. We took the train which was 10.50 euros per person (and he lied the train wasn't on strike either) read more

Tiny room, the shower was barely enough space for one person No washcloths Breakfast is available for €17, too expensive Air conditioning is available but they turn the heat on in October and the room was toasty, luckily we were able to open the window Since we had to open the window, the room became extremely noisy For example: Halloween night I was woken up to Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) at 2:36AM, there appeared to be a party going on across the street, and the other mornings we were woken up to construction If you are looking for a place to stay in a great location in Paris, I recommend this hotel! read more

The front desk was super helpful and kind. The room is a little outdated HOWEVER, you have everything you could possibly need. They even upgraded us to a better room without us asking. Nice hotel located in the heart of Paris. The room is a little small, but who goes to Paris and stays in their room all day? The louvre is a five minute walk away and the metro is right around the corner. They have free wifi, (you have to ask for the code) and a good breakfast buffet. If you don't wake up in time for the buffet, you have the option of having breakfast delivered to your room. The items aren't as extensive as what you would get at the buffet, but beggars can't be choosers! Another cool thing about this hotel is that they have umbrellas for you to borrow if needed. I would stay here again if I ever have the chance to go back to Paris! read more

Really liked this small hotel as a change from place I usually stay due to its superior location, wonderful staff, lovely breakfast. The Hotel Duminy reservations/booking was so easy to work with for our stay. Their correspondence was always very prompt and courteous. Hotel Duminy Vendome is in a perfect location! It's a 2 minute walk to the Louvre, 10 minute walk to Garnier Opera House. The hotel is clean, staff is very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast is plentiful! I realize that hotel rooms are smaller in Europe than the USA. However, I travel a great deal and the room was extremely small and only had double beds (not 2 singles). Overall, I love it here and plan to stay again! read more

Hotel was beautiful. We wanted a hotel that would give us a true taste of old Paris without the cookie cutter feel of chain hotel brands and Hotel Duminy Vendome exceeded our expectations. Room and amentities were perfect. Location is walking distance from The Louve and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. Getting our room with the breakfast included was well worth the cost! The breakfast offered was exceptional, food was fresh, baked goods, cheeses, meats and beverages well above the standard. I discovered the hotel through friends who are regular guests. The location is prime for sight seeing and luxury shopping. Location - Location - Location! I've stayed here twice and each time loved being able to head out and jog the Tuileries Gardens or see the Louvre and Eiffel Tower looming in front of me or take in all the shopping to be had at the Colette store around the corner! Not to mention a metro station is not even 5 minutes waking distance from the hotel. I was also impressed with the level of customer service - everyone goes above and beyond here to make your stay enjoyable and effortless. The rooms are small but I think that is pretty typical for hotels in Europe so no surprise there and you are only there to sleep, right? The amenities are nice and the rooms are clean and modernly design so that helps negate size. The breakfast buffet is pretty good, too. Fresh squeezed OJ, croissants, scrambled and boiled eggs, baked beans, cheeses and meats allow you to star your day off right. There is also a pub/bar next door that stays open pretty late if you need late night fuel. read more

Definitely not a 4 stars hotel. Pros: Good breakfast buffet -not cheap though!-. Camille smile at the breakfast buffet. Friendly front desk staff -except for the morning supervisor-. Cons: Very tiny rooms with tiny shower -no bathtub-. Terrible wi-fi. Room not vacuumed prior to check-in. Only two can fit in the small elevator and you have to wait forever. I had a single room # 209. The bed is against the room and the door. You have to fit in the 18 inches space between the desk and the bed to move around. Shower is tiny too and I had water up to my ankles each time I showered. On day two, I had to ask for someone to empty the trash and vacuum the room, which wasn't done when they made the room. It can take 20 minutes to half an hour to connect to the internet. Beware, if you need to make a local phone call, a local call will cost you 12.50 euros per minute: Ridiculous, it's a rip off. There should be a note next to the phone informing the guests of the price of making a local call. I had asked the front desk attendant for a transportation reservation to CDG airport. The reservation was made to...ORLY airport. After wasting almost one hour waiting for transportation, I no longer had time to take care of my tax refund at the airport and I lost 300 euros. NOT happy at all! This is only a 3 stars hotel. read more
