This was the most miserable hotel stay EVER! We booked a trip to Paris for my 50th Birthday & after the hotel with an Eiffel Tower view I originally booked was cancelled due to overbooking, I got stuck at Hotel Dress code by the booking service I used because it was the only thing available last minute supposedly meeting my requirements of 4+ stars, 9+ rating, spa, pool, gym, restaurant, room service, within a mile of Eiffel Tower & quiet. This hotel claimed to have all that. It does NOT have ANY of it. It's even advertised as a Hotel AND Spa. There is NO SPA, NO MASSAGES, NO RESTAURANT, NO ROOM SERVICE, NO GYM (unless you pay $15 per day to use the public one next door). It's 3+ miles from the Eiffel Tower & you have to PAY to use the pool. NO bar or snack bar/deli either.
As an Expedia VIP it was advertised that I would get FREE breakfast, discounted spa services, room upgrade, early check in and late check out. I got NONE of that. They charge $20 for the breakfast "buffet" which was scrambled eggs and hotdogs (see pic). Pathetic!
The "Spa, pool & hot tub" advertised is a tiny room with a tiny pool that's 65 degrees, no hot tub & steam room that is so musty & moldy it smells like cat urine & the ceiling has major black mold (see pics). You have to walk through a tight hallway lined with bags of linens & laundry to get to it. It's not 4 star or spa like at all. I couldn't even stay 2 minutes the smell was so bad.
Even after I arrived in tears because the airline lost my luggage I was refused early check in, any vip promises, etc. They wouldn't even give me a toothbrush or anything. I had to wear the same clothes for 3 days and had no toiletries. The hotel didn't even try to help.
The hotel advertises sound proof rooms. On the front of the building we got kept up by traffic then woke up at 6am every morning by trash trucks, delivery trucks, etc so we moved to the back side of the hotel & got kept up every night by loud thumping music until 4am from a night club. I did not sleep much the entire 6 days I was here which ruined my 50th Birthday trip because I was too tired to do anything. You can literally hear every single thing people in other rooms do all around you. The walls are paper thin. Also when they changed our room it was to a lesser equipped room with smaller closet, worse bed, no full length mirror, no balcony, etc but no apology or concession offered to make up for it. The room was 2 twin beds pushed together with a big dip/crack in middle so husband & I couldn't sleep near each other.
Slept 16 hours total in 5 days. Vacation is supposed to be relaxing and for you to catch up on rest. I need a vacation to recover from the vacation this horrible hotel robbed me of.
The rooms are so small there's no drawers, a tiny rack to hang 5 clothes items & nowhere you can store luggage.
When we went to get in bed at night we pulled back the comforter & there were no sheets on our bed, only a mattress cover & bedspread. There was no one at the front desk any night after 11 so we had to sleep on top of the comforter. I asked 3 times for sheets & never received them. The staff is very unhelpful.
The lights flicker then shut off in our room about every 15 minutes then come back on sporadically. When you flush the toilet, it gurgles up into the sink, the sink drips constantly which is an annoying noise, the exhaust fan doesn't work in the bathroom so the mirror fogs up even when washing hands in sink, etc. This hotel is in bad need of repairs & upgrades. The beds are hard, the pillows thin, the room safe is so small it fit our passports & that's all.
The staff is rude & unapologetic. They blame everything on "since Covid blah blah blah". Even the screen playing fashion shows in the lobby advertises massages, full service spa, room service, etc but they have none of that. I was told to call Uber eats & find a spa on Google.
This place is an absolute joke of a totally unequipped hotel that should be ashamed at what they charge. You could have better service & amenities at Motel 6. Stay anywhere but here! read more
