After weeks of persistent pain and countless visits with all sorts of doctors from spine surgeon to chiropractor, no one could diagnose if i had a pinched nerve, actual vertebrae injury, or carpal tunnel. I had bouts of numbness in my shoulders, arms, and hands along with EXTREMELY tight shoulders, and neck pain. No amount of muscle relaxers, or pain meds were helping me and i felt hopeless. After the 4th or 5th person/doctor told me to try acupuncture, (and after a full blown exhaustion-induced meltdown) I finally gave in. I am a needle phobic and have had to have sedatives in the past for blood work or tests to be done, so i truly had to reach the point of desperation to even consider it. Dr. Kim was recommended as the best in the area so I made an appointment. We discussed my symptoms and pain and he said my pain would be gone in 6 visits. I thought that sounded too good to be true but reluctantly decided to schedule 6 visits, even knowing my insurance wouldn't cover the treatment at $70 for each appointment. I just finished my 6th treatment yesterday, and while my symptoms and pain are not 100% gone, i cannot even believe the amount of improvement and relief from severe pain i have gotten from acupuncture. It is a very strange feeling and i really had to put myself into a meditative mindset during each visit to handle the fact that there were tiny needles all over my body for over 30 minutes at a time, but i made it through and am so thankful i faced my fear and trusted him. I strongly believe that the acupuncture helped me and think that it would be more effective if i had an actual diagnosis (it's a little harder to treat unknown problems i think). I would highly recommend Dr. Kim to anyone with chronic pain or other issues that other doctor's can't seem to figure out. We are so grateful to Dr. Kim for his exemplary treatment of our son. My wife and I have treated our son traditionally since infancy for asthma, chronic bronchitis, severe allergies, low energy and sleeplessness. The amount of doctor visits, antibiotic prescriptions and nebulizer treatments was frustrating and beyond worrisome. We found Dr. Kim while seeking other treatment for him, and he started on a 90-day herbal medicine and acupuncture regimen. I should mention that my son has been tested and poked so many times by needles that he has a fear of them. He was excited to report that the needles are nothing like a normal injection. We started a 3x per week acupuncture regimen that lasted 30-minutes each. Two weeks later we dropped to 2x per week, and 2 more weeks after that we hit 1x per week. We're now at 1x every other week, and will soon be relegating it to 'as needed' basis. During this period he took a proprietary herbal blend as a tea 2x per day, one morning and one at night. He no longer suffers from the primary disorders and has even been able to be around dogs (his main and most severe allergy). I first met Dr Kim 13 years ago. Our daughter, then 16, was suffering terribly with acne. We tried every solution, over the counter washes and lotions, the dermatologist, products advertised on tv and even the contraceptive pill. Amazing results I'd be the first to admit that I have no idea how or why acupuncture works, but it undeniably does work and Dr. Kim is as good as it gets. I have had three occasions to try acupuncture each time pretty much as a last ditch recourse to manage pain after injury or surgery and each time it has worked. The last two times has been with Dr. Kim, who is a charming soft spoken consummate professional who provides acupuncture and Chinese herbal medications. If you haven't tried acupuncture before don't worry...it, perhaps surprisingly, doesn't really hurt. Typically all you feel is a tap as the hair thin needle goes in. It's a bit odd but not weird or painful. Then just lay there for half an hour or so and listen to your iPod. He doesn't take insurance (not mine anyway) and acupuncture isn't included on many programs so you will likely be paying about $60 per session yourself. In my case that was a small price to reduce or eliminate persistent nagging pain which was resistant to all but the strongest pain meds....and who wants to live on pain meds? I have found the results dramatic and pretty much immediate, if you are living with pain or some other condition which might be addressed by acupuncture and are looking for a specialist to make it work for you, you should certainly try Dr. Kim. read more

I was suffering with moderate lower back pain while I was vacationing in California My level of pain was about 3 in a scale of 10 where 10 is most severe. I found Dr. Kim through internet. He put small needles on my foot and hand all together four or five. It was so gentle, I felt nothing. After first session, I was not sure, if it really helped. However, after second visit, I felt definite improvement. I stayed in town one more week and I was treated 3 more sessions to make sure I will be OK in travelling. If my pain was more acute, I believe the result would be more evident after the first session. A week later after the treatment, I came home. Dr. Kim has been a true miracle for me. I have suffered with migraines for more than 35 years and have been a complete guinea pig for western medicine trying to find something to ease the suffering. I begin having acupuncture treatment from Dr. Kim about 6 weeks ago. The reason I visited his office because I was extremely fatigue and insomnia. I lost all appetite. Last year I got the same problem (last about 1 week but less severe). My family doctor told me that I got menopause. She prescribed anti depression drug for me but I did not take it. I'm so grateful to find Dr Kim!!! My pain level was at 9 of 10 for extreme Sciatica pain level in my Right leg. For me, that meant I was unable to sit, lay down or drive. I got a shingles 7weeks ago and now almost recovered. My symptoms came with strong headache. I didn't even know early symptoms of shingles include headache. After Googling, I went to see Dr. Kim to be treated for my sudden strong headache. Anyway after getting treatment my strong headache had gone in one day and after few days I found out that what I got is shingles. My experience with Dr. Kim has been wonderful. I originally went to see him for a sprained ankle and after the first session I was able to walk without pain. After discussing other issues I was having I decided to keep going for a bit. So, now after 6 visits, my hot flashes (due to menopause) has been drastically reduced in intensity and frequency. I am able to sleep through the night now, as well as had the constant ringing in my ears (tinnitus) completely stopped. Hi, I came down with Sciatica. The med. Dr. said that the procedure for healing is to live with the pain for about 6 weeks. I could not work the pain was so great.
