They asked me all they needed to know, gave me a fast quote and i enjoyed speaking to them. Then all they did was ask my email so they could SEND me a link to fill out full details... thank you! This is how it should be done. I will be using them to ship my car. Other places ask you all your info before even telling you cost ugg.. then they sell your info and you get blown up by text. DO NOT entrust your car for shipping anywhere with Thrifty Auto Shipping. They should be shut down for fraud and non-existing customer service. Please, please do your homework before hand. I wish I did. This "transportation company" is a BIG scam! I have now opened up Better Business Bureau complaint against this company and they will have to go Court. I will litigate against them. I had my Lexus transported from Fort Worth, Texas to Virginia and used Thrifty Auto Shipping. The transporter (driver) damaged my car causing in excess of $2500+ in property damage. First, they were supposed to deliver my car within two to three days, they delivered my car in six days with $2500 in damage. The driver wanted to deliver the car at 11pm on the second evening and I would not accept that since I could not check the car properly in the dark. He said - if you do not pick it up now - then it will be whenever I am back in the area. He was very rude and hung up the phone on me. When I asked the driver what happened to my car, he said he doesn't not speak English and I should contact the broker. Thrifty Auto Shipping refuses to assume any liability and informed me that I should contact the driver and NOD transportation to discuss the liability issue. Dwight Harrill from Thrift Auto Shipping was the point of contact that helped me, and now he is not taking any responsibility or ownership for what happened to my vehicle (Lexus 2015). When I call NOD Transportation, they ignored my calls and or hung up on me when by chance I happen to get through to them. Thrift Auto Shipping (Dwight Harrill) basically lied to me from the very beginning of this whole ordeal. They are Brokers/Agents. (They are the middle man, but very smooth sales people, that will tell you anything you want to hear to make a commission.) They don't have any company trucks. They try to get your credit card and then they throw you to an unprofessional, rude driver who claim not to speak English, or even though he does. A friend called him from a different number, and he was pretty fluent talking to her about my concerns. Basically, he was caught "in fraganti" with his statement about not being able to speak English. He lied!!! Thrifty Auto Shipping should not be in business because they lack decency, honesty, basic business sense, and the need for taking ownership for their own mistakes with some else's property. No one should EVER do business with such "entity". EVER!!!!!!!

UPDATE AS OF 4/7: James did contact me on 3/29 and was very…read moresympathetic to my experience with Ad Fast Transport LLC, which he told me he would hold accountable to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He also offered to reimburse me for my Uber expenses, which I also appreciated. Overall, the experience still wasn't the best but I can appreciate the apology and actions that came afterwards from the Car Carriage. **Full transparency: I have updated my review from two stars to four following the update.** This was my first time using an auto transport company and I decided to use the Car Carriage based on a solid review from a family friend. During my initial consultation via online system and call, the company was very responsive. James was a great help to understand what the process would be like and get an accurate look at the total costs. I also appreciated that I did not have to pay anything upfront until the car was delivered. The Car Carriage is based in Texas and they use contractors around the country to pick up your car. The contractor I used, Ad Fast Transport LLC is based in Maryland and dealing with them was the worst experience. First off, leading up to my pick-up date, I heard nothing from Ad Fast. The Car Carriage provided their contact information so I reached out and a representative named Josy picked up. Josy seemed very unorganized and unprofessional during our call and had no idea when the driver would arrive to pick up my car. This was a problem because I had a flight back to Maryland in less than four days and needed my car picked up before I left. I had to consistently call Josy to get an idea of when the driver could pick up my car. It was originally scheduled for pick up on 3/15 but it wasn't picked up until 3/17. However, this wasn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue was when I recieved a text from Josy asking me if I could meet the driver 25 minutes west from the original pickup location in a very rural area. I was very skeptical of this unprofessionalism, however, like I said before, I needed my car gone before my flight. So I agreed and drove to the location. The driver was very sweet about it all but I learned he was planning to come to the original location but was told by Josy not to. Getting back to my original location was a pain as temperatures were in the single-digits and there was no ubers or lyfts available until an hour later so I had to wait in a local motel until I could find a driver to take me home. My car was safely delivered to the contacting company but I was out $52 from the Uber and had to wait an hour in an unfamiliar part of town. When I asked Josy, how I would get home once I gave my car, her only response was "I don't know." When I reached back out to James and the Car Carriage for a response, I have yet to receive an email as of 3/24. There is no accountability and the lack of communication from all involved parties has been disheartening and frustrating to say the least. Luckily, my car was delivered safely to the listed location in a timely fashion on 3/21. However, this experience has been so traumatizing and horrific that I would not recommend the Car Carriage or any of its contractors to anyone.

DOUBLE BROKER ALERT…read more Rate did not match what customer actually had a contract with them. We verified directly with the customer at the pickup. The Car Carriage LLC refused to fix the issue and instead threatened us with negative if we didn't pick up the car, or pay $300 to avoid it. Unprofessional, dishonest, and a waste of time. Carriers beware--high risk of scam and double brokerage.

I got assigned a coordinator to give me a quote from their home base in California. After I paid, I arranged a time frame for my household goods. The dispatcher was good at letting me know the time frame. They also got my car shipped and all that. One gripe, if that, is that they don't move your stuff themselves. They contract local companies to do the move for you. In other words, they are what you call a broker. I know this because I asked the movers themselves if they're with Trico and he said, "No, we are a sister company. They contact us and we do the rest." Another gripe is that they charged me a "long haul fee". I had a top floor, corner unit at my apartment complex. They charged me an extra $300 for extra footage for the move. So be wary of that part if you're an apartment dweller. My stuff got to California safely and everything was accounted for. As for my car, again, they contract other auto shippers. My car came back in one piece. I'd recommend Trico. Some may be hesitant if they're essentially a "middle man" of sorts. They were professional with the whole process.

We had worries that we would not be able to make the deadline of the move as we needed to be moved out by the Thursday of last week. The day we called them was pretty inconvenient to get started so Trico was able to compromise and schedule us to have somebody come in and approximate the price and length of the transportation process. They informed us that the actual packing and loading the furniture onto the trucks will take up at least two to three days and the rest of the transport will take up to another four days relative to how far we were moving. I told my dad that they were offering several package bundles and he opted to choose the one with an insurance policy with it, I strongly agreed. It was one of the best deals they had, including a full damage reimbursal insurance policy for moves over a few hundred miles. Thankfully our move was just about that length if not longer and we qualified for the package. These guys are the very best at what they do, we contacted them on short notice and they did not overcharge us or give us a hard time about things. If we had to do it all over again I think we would still choose these guys without a doubt. We had a wonderful experience and all of our stuff arrived safely at our new home without a single scratch.

Do not trust this company at all! One of the employees ( not sure if he was a mgr?) named John, constantly gave me the run around, promising he would rectify this ordeal and never did. Every single time I called they wouldn't pick up, but a text msg would arrive stating someone would call me back. Another lie! No one cared enough to help me. Plz don't use this company as I fear you too, will be screwed over like I was. I wouldn't even rate this company or "John" for that matter with one star, but it doesn't give me that option!
