In just five consecutive days, my kids made more progress than they've made in years! My son went from plugging his nose just to go underwater to gliding confidently and even jumping off the diving board -- no floaties and no nose plugging! My daughter Olivia mastered gliding and incorporated arms for the freestyle. It was amazing to watch. Ms. Carol is incredibly encouraging and skilled. She teaches out of her own heated pool, and her approach is direct and effective. She's the best swim teacher around. They are gentle, but pushed my kids just enough to massively improve their swimming over the couple of years we went here. At first I thought the small basement pool was bad, but I soon realized that it's an excellent teaching aid, keeping the kids close to the teacher at all times so they can make their strokes perfect. It's also got a deep end so the kids can learn to dive, something our kids hadn't been able to do in some other Lakewood pools. When we had to reschedule or cancel lessons, Jaime the manager was always very friendly and flexible, offering convenient make up lessons, etc.

Less than a month at Clownfish once a week and she is braver, trying new things and actually learning to SWIM!!! Matt is INCREDIBLE. My daughter adores him. I'm a big supporter of family owned businesses and the more intimate environment and ease of scheduling and shifting time slots when necessary speaks very highly of how well run Clownfish is and how the owners take pride in what they do. All of the staff we've met have been extremely friendly and accommodating but Matt is our favorite :) Keep up the great work. I would HIGHLY recommend Clownfish to anyone and everyone who is serious about their child learning how to swim as well as survival techniques.

My husband and I have always been interested in scuba diving, but we didn't take the plunge (see…read morewhat I did there) until early 2025. We're so grateful we got connected with Denver Divers through their adaptive diving program. Even though I've had an interest in scuba diving, I was really nervous to actually try it. I was able to attend a Try Scuba event at Denver Divers, and was immediately hooked (see what I did again). I was paired with an instructor who explained the basics of diving, had time to try out the diving in the pool, and was able to ask questions afterwards. Once we decided to proceed, we were paired with an instructor, Vince, who put as totally at ease about diving. We were given an online training program, in person classes, and two training sessions. I felt comfortable asking questions and learning from my mistakes. I felt super prepared by the time I was getting certified. We ended up taking a group trip and got open water certified in Honduras. I ended up doing 23 dives and built some new core memories. It was wild to see all the different marine life (including a friendly little shark), to see coral up close, and to explore a shipwreck. On top of all of this, we also have started to build our community of divers. All of the instructors are so passionate about diving and really enjoy teaching others how to safely dive. We are looking forward to staying connected and to more future group dive trips.

A special thank you to Cheryl, the director, who runs such a thoughtful and well-structured program. You can tell a lot of care goes into how the school is organized and how families are supported. Our swim coach, Megan, has been fantastic. She is patient, encouraging, and wonderful with kids. We especially appreciate how patient she is with our son on days when he's not as excited about swimming or wants to test boundaries. Megan stays calm, consistent, and keeps realistic expectations while gently following through with directions and the skills they're working on. Her steady and encouraging approach has made such a difference. We're so grateful for the positive environment they've created and highly recommend Denver Divers to families looking for quality swim instruction. ‍

My 7-year old has been going to SafeSplash for about 18 months…read more Ups and downs for sure, but we are currently riding a wave of progress and enthusiasm with a new instructor. Good: Plenty of time slots available and makeups are easy if you miss. Instructors show great patience with kids of various ages/skill sets in one class at times (not always the case). They asked for feedback recently and appear to have made appropriate changes based on it. Staff are friendly and helpful, esp the manager. She rocks. Not as good: Kids are not pushed to get better faster. Treading water like that is good for business, but for families, not so much. They have rolled out an initiative to be accountable for this now. Goals for progress are clear, for example. I believe in it. While fit matters, we have had five instructors now (turnover, scheduling) and only the first one (who moved away) and newest one seemed truly focused on helping our child improve at an appropriate pace. They all seem competent and friendly, though. If you need to speak with Park Hill Safesplash, your only option reaches an off-site call center. While they can handle many issues, they lack location-specific insight. If you really need to speak to Park Hill, they will call for you and have Park Hill call you. I'd expect a call center from insurance or cable companies, not a swim school. Prices went up this year. We haven't priced other schools, but it's getting more expensive here (like everything in 2025). Overall, we have been happy with SafeSplash Park Hill. 3.5 stars worth of happy for now.

Do not bring your special needs children here, especially if they are on a waiver, it has been a…read moreliteral nightmare. My son is 5 and has level 3 autism. He's on a government waiver that pays for his swim safety classes, which British Swim School knew about and claimed to have experience with. I PERSONALLY paid registration to Eliza, who enrolled us, to get him in and the government took over from there. Mind you, I'm supposed to be reimbursed for the registration fee and any additional funds from a $1000 check from the government. When I mentioned it to Eliza she stopped communicating with me. So my son missed swim class twice, once because of croup and the next weekend his dad tested positive for Covid. I followed all procedures and emailed and texted BSS. I actually called the hotel as well because it was short notice and I wanted everyone to know. The owner Nikki eventually called me and accuse my son of missing his first class too, so 3 in total, which was wrong and I corrected her on. The school literally took his picture on his first day. Then she has the audacity to say the same thing to my sons waiver case manager, who then expressed to me how rude Nikki was to him. This was my email to BSS after speaking with the case manager. "Hello, I just spoke with Elan, and he mentioned that Nikki complained about Lincoln missing two session. Lincoln had croup one week (could have been Covid we didn't test him) and the following week his dad tested positive for Covid. I would never bring a sick child into swim lessons and expose other children, so he missed those two sessions only. And I emailed and texted both times and I called the hotel to make sure everyone was informed about the Covid situation. Nikki then called me under the impression that Lincoln had missed his first session as well, which was incorrect, and I feel like because of that presumption and the funds issue, I have not been treated well by her. I understand there was an issue with the payment, which has been rectified, and I had zero control over; however, I do not understand the continued complaint about my sick child missing swim lessons. Please tell me what I should do differently if Lincoln is sick or exposed to Covid? This is not at all what I expected when I talked with Eliza about enrolling my special needs child at British Swim School. Amber Houghton" I posted a review here just like this one and Nikki called me extremely apologetic and wanting to make up the classes he my son had missed FINALLY. Then she did it again tonight. We were discussing additional classes and the payments and the registration fee. She told me she hasn't been paid as of yet by the government (again, they told me they've worked with these programs before) and that she can refund the registration fee when she received it from the government. I corrected her and let her know I paid out of pocket for the registration and my card should be on file. She responded with, "No card on file." I then responded with a screenshot of my confirmation email with my debit card number attached and on file. The amount of discrimination and disrespect is staggering. And I have all the emails and texts to prove it. I wanted to continue to see the swim instructor Sophia because she's amazing and I would gladly pay out of pocket, but instead I'll be canceling every session we have. Thank you Sophia, you were incredible. Nikki, you should be ashamed of yourself. And from what I can see from other reviews I'm not the only special needs parent having these issues.
