Check out the public lap swim hours on their website before visiting. The main downside is that there's only 4 shared auxiliary swim lanes available in the evenings for Apex members. And the family (gender-shared) locker rooms are a little gross, especially the showers later in the day. Love that the pools are heated though, making it a great, accessible workout option in the Colorado winters.

Amazing public pool…read more We went most recently for the hot springs day and it was an incredible time. They had a ramen food truck (which was fine) and free coffee and hot cocoa. We have also been here as a family during the summer and the pool is lovely. You would want to come early and get a nice shady spot because they will be taken up fast. My kiddo had to do a swimming test to use the diving board in the summer and she failed both times so she had to stay in the larger shallower end of the pool. Also looking at prices on this yelp, they have gone up significantly. I see people complaining about $10 a few years ago. It was $25 per adult this time. That was crazy to me, but we had already made this plan and had driven 45 minutes for this, plus it's in the vacation budget. If I lived here I would not come back because of that price. Also if you don't have a towel, they cost $20. This place is beautiful and I loved my time here, it will be a great memory, but that price is crazy. If I come back to Denver I may look for another place that may be like this.

This is the brand-new Meyers Arvada Apex pool, and she is serving fresh concrete, sparkling water, giant windows, and enough shiny newness to make every old review spontaneously combust. The pool is in a convenient location next to Congress Park (which also has a new playground). There is on off street parking lot, but it does fill up when the pool is busy. My younger kid took swim lessons here and was on the swim team as well. The renovated pool has been expanded to include a larger kids pool and primary pool as well as grassy area for relaxing and additional shade. There are new changing areas and everything feels fresh and clean. My favorite part of the remodel is that they kept the same overall feel and didn't gut it just to add splash features and slides etc..

I enjoy a lap swimming, and there's nothing quite like lap swimming in a 50 m pool. Their hours are posted on their website, where you can get information on when lap swimming is available, when they have swim team, swim lessons and open or public swims. There's a strong group at swimmers that show up for lap swimming. No worries, there's room for all sorts of swimmers, from those experienced at going back-and-forth and those just getting started. There's also a nice baby or kids pool, picnic tables, new locker rooms, lockers (bring your own lock), family changing rooms, some outdoor showers and a group of young lifeguards to keep track of everybody in the pools.

Tied in with the City of Thornton Recreation Facilities, I discovered the Park Village Pool at the…read morebeginning of the summer after checking out the City website, wondering if there were any others pools in the area similar to the one located on 95th Avenue that I'd ridden by so many times, but never bothered checking out due to the fact that it always seemed overcrowded, in addition to it having a lot of waterslides and those giant dumping watering cans and mega buckets and what not for little kids. Turns out that Park Village Pool is within walking distance of my residence, so it's been a great place to trek to, as the heat's been insane this summer. An initial $5 fee will get you registered in the system and you're given small, medium and large ID cards that make you eligible for resident rates at any of the City's facilities if you're a Thornton resident, although it's pretty much open to anyone. Modest $2.75 per day resident rate, and I believe season passes are available for around $75. Nonresident/public rates run a bit higher. A big plus is that it's located right in front of the RTD Route 92 bus line. Lots of grassy, shaded and non-concrete areas, and there appears to be a separate wading pool for little kids. Very friendly staff members and lifeguards, and never a problem getting a chair. I think they've got some planned activities throughout the week, as I accidentally showed up an hour before the open swim period began one day earlier in the summer, walking smack dab into the middle of a senior citizens water aerobics/synchronized swimming class! lol Hot showers in the locker room, which appears to be very well maintained. Several diving platforms, and the lap lane ropes are cranked out quite frequently. Only downers are that there's almost always at least one little unruly, punk ass kid in the crowd spoiling everyone's ride, with parents that either stay silent or aren't around, but that's to be expected at a facility like this. I still think I was a lot better off here than at the 95th Avenue pool. Also, they'll close for the day if there's even a remote chance of rain in the forecast, as I got skunked on a couple of sessions, both being when the sun was out full bore - the place was locked up tight. It seems like a lot of business gets wasted that way. The telephone number is a voice recording/info line, so you can't really call ahead to verify if they're open or not. Definitely the nicest public pool I've been to for the most part, keep up the great work!

There are a zillion deck chaises provided, but only a few are adjustable. The vast majority only lay completely flat. Also? COLD!!! When we were there recently it was 90+ degrees outside but the water was freezing cold and my son's teeth were chattering within minutes. Even after several attempts to help him "get used to it", he was asking to go home after only an hour there. UNUSUAL for him - he normally wants to stay at the Ridge pool for hours. So.

The…read morepool itself is relatively nice and the chairs are comfy, but the locker room definitely needs some attention. It was dirty and there was wet toilet paper everywhere. While I was there I saw a lifeguard rescue a small kid (maybe 7) from the shallow end of the pool and no less than 30 minutes later the same kid was jumping off the diving board and going down the deep end slide. He was barely keeping his head above water but struggled to get to the side of the pool. The lifeguards should be more attentive to that child and probably shouldn't have let him go into the deep end. But - it's not my pool to run. Just a personal opinion.
