This company is terrible. They run in and turn on the system, spend no time checking for leaks or to see if every head is working properly. You have to call them back every season to fix things that should have been checked in the first place for the astronomical fee they charge. Look around. There are other companies out there. read more

I too am "done" with Hydro-Tech Irrigation. I have had them out three times to fix various problems, including the timing system not coming at all and various sprinkler heads not working property. Each time, they said all was fixed, and each time, it wasn't true. The service has been simply abysmal, and responsiveness to phone calls - originally starting as inquiring what's going on, eventually becoming actual complaints on my part - non-existent. My search is on for a new company, as I will never use Hydro-Tech again. read more

WE have had their system for years. The system works well but the customer service there is HORRID. You can't get anyone on the phone, you can't schedule an appt. They want you to prepay for services and then they aren't available when you need them. The technicians themselves are knowledgeable but it doesn't do any good when they aren't accessible. They really need to work on their office staff. read more

Worked with Yoni Wiss on replacing the light bulbs over my restaurant awning. 4 stars only because it took about a week or so to get the job done and it was about a 30 minute job. Other than that the guys that came out were very nice and very helpful. read more

Hydro-Tech was happy to set up a complex irrigation system for my home which cost thousands of dollars. But since set up, its been a bad experience. The technicians don't really want to do more then the absolute minimum when doing winterization or spring set up. They don't make recommendations for what should be fixed, even after repeated requests. It takes months to get an appointment, and the staff at their office is rude. I have finally moved on. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Hydro tech technician Joe has done my season start up and shut down for several years now. Always makes you feel like you are the most important customer he has. Takes necessary time to adjust or readjust everything. Fixes leaks. read more

When a service person goes the extra mile, in the rain, and when he wasn't asked to, its worth yelping about. I just met with the nicest technician from Hydrotech. He was friendly, professional and seemed to really like his job which is soooo different from the many other service techs I've met who appear to just want to get in and out of your home quickly. Ryan, my husband and I thought you were a great representative of your company and wanted to let you know how much we appreciated you taking the time to explain what you were doing and how the next steps of the process would go. There were a few years there where we might have cancelled this service to save money, but with people like you working there we will be longtime customers for sure. Thanks again Ryan for the great customer service and getting all out sprinkler heads working properly! read more

Hydro-Tech has been great for the five years we've used them. My neighbors all use them, too, and everyone raves about them and recommends them. I had one problem this year with my system and the technicial stayed late on a holiday to get it fixed. When the problem got deeper and cost us more, the owner handled it immediately. We were refunded money and offered a free turn off in the winter. They went above and beyond- way above and beyond, and really proved to me that they value my business. I would give them more than five stars if I could. GREAT company, GREAT people. read more

I'm joining the growing chorus of dissatisfied customers with Hydro-Tech. They installed our system and probably out of laziness I have used them to winterize and then turn our system back on each year. Each year they have gotten progressively worse with their responsiveness and availability. This year, however, is the breaking point. I recently called to set up the winterization and was forced to be on hold for ten minutes only to then be sent to their voicemail. I called back later and went through the same process only to once again be sent to voicemail. Shockingly, when they did eventually call back the message instructed me to go back and call the same number that led me right back to their voicemail. I give up. I called Interstate irrigation ((703) 250-8830) and a very pleasant woman answered immediately and quickly set our winter service up for early October. What a wonderful difference from Hydro-Tech's customer service (or lack thereof). read more

Yoni and his team did a wonderful job on installing my water irrigation system. They did a great job of cleaning up and showing me how the system works read more

I had my system installed in 2015 and have received excellent service from office schedulers, installation team and techs that have made subsequent repairs and adjustments. Everyone of the appointments have been made and are within the window provided. The seasonal start up today with Nicholas went without a hitch and provided me some additional insight on programming my somewhat technical control panel. There was a defective head that was "missing a piece" and he replaced it without hesitation. I wish other service companies were as easy to work with. Considering that I used to be a licensed general contractor, I believe that I can be objective when judging customer service and performance, read more

Outstanding work! I had an irrigation system and landscape lighting installed last week. They were professional, very responsive and performed the entire installation in 1 day (7 zones on a half acre property). They use all copper on any water lines above ground with premium quality fixtures. The control systems use the latest technology and I can control everything from an app on my phone. They were not the lowest price quote I received but they were still reasonably priced. I thought it was a very good value based on the quality of the equipment and the professionalism of the installation. read more

Yoni Wiss and his team did an excellent job installing a new sprinkler system. He walked me through the process and gave an honest estimates for the work. On installation day he walked through exactly what was being done and showed us how to use the latest tech for sprinklers, all controlled from an app! Yoni also made it a point to follow-up after installation and made sure we were happy with the work. Yoni and his team are consummate professionals and I would highly recommend Hydro-Tech irrigation to my Stone Ridge neighbors. read more

I moved to a 10-year old house in Great Falls three years ago. After a very disappointing experience with another company, I hired Hydrotech to fix the irrigation system and the outside lights. I dealt with Yoni Wiss, who was always attentive and responsive. I wanted to restore some of the lights myself, and Hydrotech provided the parts at discount. We needed many additional lights, and Hydrotech's selection and placement were excellent. The irrigation system was entirely overhauled. In some areas, Hydrotech recommended replacing spray heads with drip lines, which we did. The system works fine. My neighbor and I are now undertaking an outside-lights project in a shared area, and I recommended Yoni and Hydrotech. read more

I inherited this service. I use them for turn-on and turn-off services and they have come out at lest once for a repair. I have never had an issue with them until recently. We had a little mis-understanding, but after a few e-mails we worked out the issue and everything ended fine. read more

Hydro-Tech knows their business. They installed our sprinklers and I did not follow their guidance on where to put the sprinkler heads. They were right and I was wrong. They came back and moved the sprinklers to the right locations without charging me. Joe has always treated us with the utmost respect. I am shocked to see some of these ratings. read more

After having my system installed and using it for several weeks I'm wondering why all the negative reviews here since my experience has been nothing but positive. Yoni is an excellent representative of the company and has been very responsive in every way. Wish I would have had a system installed long before now since my lawn looks beautiful! read more

I have been a customer for 5 plus years. You fail to provide the extra step of customer relations which we enjoy from our other service companies. We can understand a commitment to (for example) to have a service reservation for a morning of 7am to noon. So instead of having your customers stand around for 5 hours why not give a better estimate on the day of scheduled service. Takes a 20 sec phone call or a quick email. Other companies provide this care--why not you? Russ Ray read more

I posted a good review for this company I have used for sometime and you didn't post it so while I am new to yelp I'll do it again. I have used Hydro-Tech for a number of years and really like the way they have treated me. I have no connection to this company other than as a happy customer so lets try it again read more

I have been a customer for many years, service is getting worst every year. For second year in the row they have scheduled an appointment and did not show up. They seem to have too many accounts and not enough staff, they are not even apologetic about it. Time has come to move on with a new company, good luck! read more

My experiences are not as bad as others have had. Good installation in 2012; and they corrected -- at their own expense -- an installation misunderstanding regarding areas to be irrigated. Service has been fine each subsequent year. Had my spring turn-on last month and the person said he'd checked everything and it's all working (or something like that). Last weekend during a continuous moderate rain, the irrigation continued to operate (which it's not supposed to do, of course), so I called today and asked about that. I was told that the rain sensor is not part of the system check-out at spring turn-on; but that they would come out and look at it at the next available appointment May 21 (24 days from today). That wait seems excessive for what I believe should have been checked at turn-on time. read more

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! First, they rope you in with a discount if you pay for your winterization and spring start-up at the same time. Then, you call to schedule your spring start-up. If you've "pre-paid" you have to wait months since they've already collected your money. The technician who came to start-up our system spoke very little English, but told us our box was broken and needed to be replaced for $300. I told him I needed to talk to my husband first. I then get a call saying they'll be out the following Saturday for the $300 repair (after it took months to get someone out to start-up our system). My husband fixed the problem with a $2 fuse (saving $298). Hydrotech then sent someone back out who told us we had a broken solenoid which was shorting our box. He told us he would get it off of another truck, and that he was leaving the box on so that he could fix it that day or the next without us needing to be there. He also told us it would cost no more than $30 for the piece and the labor was included. Several days go by and we haven't heard back from the company. We call to inquire about the status, and are informed that our technician said we were "all-set" and the case was closed. We explained the situation and asked to get in touch with the technician directly, which was refused. They then set out a third technician. He came out, brought a fuse and fixed the solonoid, and told us there was "no charge." We then get a $25 fee for a trip visit. The invoice stated that the homeowner repaired the issue (remember, Hydrotech came out, but then said they didn't have the part so would come back). We called to dispute the $25 trip visit to find out we owed an additional $127 for the solenoiid fix ($32 part and $95 labor). We finally spoke to the servivce manager Mike who was extremely rude and accusatory. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY. If they don't credit our account, we are going to the Better Business Bureau. They have been dishonest, rude, give false information, and are a HORRIBLY run business. Steer clear! read more

You could maybe get a better price (don't know, didn't check) but doubt you could get better quality or service (at least so far; our system has just recently been installed in our yard in Arlington, VA. When the initial installation seemed not quite up to the task in one corner of the yard, the crew came back the next day and put in additional stuff to make it right. The manager came the next week to test the system and go over it with us. He tested it thoroughly in consultation with my wife and me and then made multiple adjustments and replacements for sprinkler heads until we were all satisfied with the system's ability to water our yard and shrubbery. I asked about extending a system to a point beyond where we had initially requested. He had the extension put in at no extra charge. He showed us how to adjust the system, which seems simple to do even though it has multiple zones and adjustable times for watering. He and everyone on Hydo-Tech's team were always pleasant and always showed up when they said they would. read more

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THE PERSON IN HERNDON ABOUT THIS COMPANY and especially the customer service manager. I was home when they came to do my spring turn on but never heard the doorbell. There was no phone call as I had requested. I didn't realize I had missed them until I found a hanger on the door. When I called the office, there was a very long hold and finally someone said it would be another 6 weeks before they could reschedule me. The only way a wouldn't have to pay the "no show" fee was if I rescheduled even though I had been home the entire time. When I asked to speak with the customer service manager, he yelled and hung up on me. I should have known this would be his reaction since he was the same person who impulsively and violently ripped an electrical cover plate off the wall when we were doing the installation stating it was just a $1 part and he couldn't hold up his work crew for that. Even if I had tried to stop him I couldn't have, he moved so quickly. Repeated requests to have the part fixed were unanswered and we had to do that ourselves. Our phone calls to the company owner went unanswered. I have since hired another contractor and will never use Hydro-Tech again!!! read more

I have used Hydrotech for more than 7 years so I didn't have a need to check Yelp for reviews. I recently happened to see some of the other reviews and was shocked at the low rating that others have given and I wanted to make sure I expressed my opinion on the service I have received. The technicians are always VERY timely within the window of time that I am given......almost always arriving on the front end of the window (something I greatly appreciate). I do sign up for the annual service, and I receive a postcard prior to the spring turn-on and fall turn-off season to remind me to call the office for appointments.......and yes, I make a point to call as soon as I get the postcard because I know that their calendars fill up. Think of it this way: if you have a favorite hair stylist and you know they book up, you know you need to call sooner to get the appointment time that you want. It's the same principal! read more
