I purchased my first Prius from them a few years ago and I loved it!! Never gave me any issues and worked amazingly. Last time I took my car with them to get my old car shocks replaced they recommended me to get the catalytic cover since they have been getting stolen. I was so confident that it wouldn't happened to me but unfortunately it did. I contacted my insurance and this shop to have my car fix as soon as possible because I can't be without a car. The shop was amazing they handled everything with my insurance and kept me informed of everything that was happening with the process. Unfortunately the insurance deemed my car a total loss. But despite that this amazing shop didn't let me down. They helped me find a new Toyota Prius newer year with GPS and back up camera. And although I loved my 2004 Prius I am IN LOVE with my new 2013 Prius. This shop is my to go to whenever I need an oil change and the rare times that my car has needed some fixing or upgrades. Our well used and loved 2012 Prius C with 187,000 miles finally lost its battery system after many years and miles of use. We considered selling it to a recycler but I did some online research and found that the battery could be replaced. After talking to a couple of service companies, I decided to use Hybrid Auto Tech and we are glad we did. Juan, was professional and easy to deal with and he explained our options. For a couple of thousand dollars we could get a new battery pack or for $900 we could get a rebuilt system with a one year, 16,000 mile warranty. Due to the already high mileage on the car, we decided on the rebuilt battery. The car also was long overdue for a service so we had a complete tune up and oil change along with the battery service all for $1485. Juan recommended a water pump as well, but advised since we only are using the car for around town and short trips we could hold off on that. I appreciated the good communication, reasonable pricing and overall very good service. Let's hope our little car can go another year at least and maybe even more. They will charge you $900 for a so called refurbished battery. How well the battery is done is questionable to say the least. I've had to come back multiple times within a year because the battery cells went out. Kept my vehicle for days without saying anything about what was going on. Terrible communication as far as what's actually going on with the battery. I seriously doubt they actually did any work my last visit. Just a call a few days later "I guess your car is ready". Give me a break! 4 months left on warranty and they literally didn't do anything. I'm out time and money and I've been coming here for a couple years. Last time. I bought my 2005 Prius at a Police Auction it had over 170,000 miles body and interior was in good condition. When driving the car home the dash lite up like a Christmas tree and the car started to drive really slow like something was wrong with the trasmission. When I got home I immediately started to do some research as to what could be the problem, everything came back HV battery. I found a couple places on Yelp and the closest one to me was Hybrid Auto Tech. I called and talked to Juan and Danny, they were very professional with answering my questions over the phone they assured me it sounded like a HV battery problem quoted me a price that included diagnosis and installation and 1 yr warranty. I decided to drive the car to them so they could check it out to find out that the battery wasn't the only thing wrong. Danny took the time to explain to me what other problems they found and it sounded worse than what they quoted me to fix. My car came up with the Triangle of death .. the check hybrid system came up and I was afraid of the repair being my first Prius ... NOPE called these guys up the next day one of their techs came by and checked my car out at my house and let me know that the battery was shot. This place is so shady. My brother had the battery rebuilt by them for $900 and it was under warranty for two years. A few months before the two year mark, I took my car back to have it repaired, since the IMA light came back on. I also had them put on an O2 sensor. I bought the O2 sensor and they charged me to put it on. The guy who "fixed it" told me I could borrow another car to go to the Starbucks yo the street for about an hour while he worked on it. When I came back, he turned my car on, and the IMA light was no longer on. He told me that some fuses in the hybrid battery were blown or something like that, and that he fixed it. I went on my my way, and when I needed my car to pass smog, some codes were coming up and it wouldn't passq. I took my car to another mechanic, since I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't pass smog. Another mechanic scanned the car for me, and told me that the IMA light had been tampered with and that it should be on. Also they told me I needed an O2 sensor and they replaced it there. My brother took apart my dash board and found a piece of electrical tape over the IMA light was left there by the guy at Hybrid Auto tech, so that he wouldn't have to actually fix my battery that was under warranty. Now, my car won't pass smog and I have to probably pay for another new battery just so I can keep my car. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! THEY ARE CRIMINALS! read more

These shady a** mechanics fixed my hybrid battery for $900 before I sold the car to my sister. The IMA light came on shortly after, while the repair job was still under warranty. I told my sister where to take it to get it repaired under warranty, but instead of fixing anything they took apart the dashboard and put electrical tape over the IMA light and engine light. We didn't find this out until later, when she tried to get it smogged. She also paid these guys to change an O2 sensor, which she brought in, and I have no doubt they never put that on either. read more

I bought a refurbished battery a few months ago the red triangle light came on again but the battery was working fine so I took it back and they told me I the battery was bad and the man who sold it to me told me it had a 5 month warranty and now they switched it to 3 and they still charged me 60 for the diagnos. Place is great! I have a 2014 Prius C and last night my car wouldn't start. Called triple A. They tried to jump it but didn't have equipment to test it. Another guy came this morning and was able to jump it. I found Hybrid Auto Tech on Yelp called them this morning said my battery died and car stunk like rotten eggs. They said I needed a new battery and could replace it. Took it in. They replaced and serviced a few things and I was back up and running. They sound like they really know Hybrids. have been trying to post a review for the longest time but I've been too busy with work and don't have the time. These guys are legit when it comes to hybrid cars. They do my oil change, help me fix my A/C, tells me what my cars needs and told me about my mini turbofan that I had to clean it cool down my battery. Dude, I didn't know I had a fan next to the battery, my Toyota dealer never told me about it. They even showed me how it will look if I didn't clean it. For all of my adult life I'd been looking for a mechanic I can trust...one that won't try to upsell me on every little thing or guess at a problem and then not resolve it. I was at Battery Doctors one year ago. Recently, the check engine light went on, so I came back again. Dino is running the show now. He was very through, spent a lot of time going over the engine diagnostic codes on his dedicated computer, while explaining to me what's going on. Hybrid technology is a specialized field. He was very knowledgeable. I feel he is an honest mechanic, would answer what he knows, without trying to up-sell. Many taxi drivers take their hybrid cars (Prius, Camry, Ford) to this shop. Chatting with the cab drivers, they also give thumbs up to Dino and this shop. It's a consensus the service and work is very good, and the price is quite fair, even if some batteries can be temperamental. Dino honors the battery warranty that I purchased from his shop, so I didn't have to pay this time. That speaks a lot for integrity.
