Heavy, gross smell coming from the sofa

do not stay here. the photos don't represent the property. in my opinion, the room was dangerously dirty. black gunk around the shower. body odor and urine on furniture and red marks on walls (it looked like blood, i cannot be sure.) and no room service- they tell you to "throw your wet towels in the hallway." can you imagine how dirty that is to then use on your body.

Absolutely horrible. I've emailed twice no response I reserved a king bedroom when I arrived they said they don't have any of the room I reserved and gave me 2 full beds. No complimentary breakfast even after the inconvenience and they barely plowed their parking lot compared to every other parking lot around us.

STRONGEST WATER PRESSURE EVER. The best shower ever. This hotel is super clean and the staff is amazing. The manager Jason was a delight, he helped us unlock our bathroom door... we managed to get it locked from the outside. He was patient and funny. Breakfast was great! We loved the food and everything was very clean. We would definitely recommend this location! It was so comfortable.

Lovely place and very comfortable decor. From the lounge area, work stations, breakfast area, bar, lounging navy blue chairs it was all very well laid out. The young lady bakes chocolate cookies to welcome her guest. She's also the bartender and the cook. She's definitely a gem!! Her patience is incredible and does everything with kindness. She was able to keep my frozen goods in their freezer. I appreciate her. My room was cleaned and warm just how I liked it. I look forward to staying here on my next food show.

Not a great location (tucked behind a self storage facility) but decent enough place to spend the night. Clean room and nice service checking in. Complimentary breakfast was on par with a typical free hotel breakfast.

A very relaxing stay for my birthday getaway before going to Toronto. Breakfast was filling and delish. Thank you Samantha for being so helpful as we have to update our CC. Also the FD upon check in was very helpful too

We stayed one night here and I thought it was very nice. If you're driving to the hotel and…read moreparking, go past the lobby up the ramp to the parking garage. Just take a ticket to get in but once you check in, your key card will get you in and out for free. Check in was quick and easy and the front desk team was very nice. We had a room at the end of the hall on the 9th floor and it was super quiet, even thought they had four weddings going on. When the front desk guy told me that, I thought it was going to be a loud, long evening but our room was quiet all night. We were on a corner so had corner windows which were lovely but the shades were great and kept out the light. Everything was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently updated. The bed was a little soft for my taste but overall, the room was great. I've only been to Poughkeepsie once before but I know I walked to several beer bars not too far from this hotel. The convention center is right next door and there's a big theater just down the street, so I'd say this location is pretty convenient. We had a great stay here!

Once after giving all of the credit card information, received a call after 11:00 pm with someone carrying on about paying the bill the same night as opposed to at check-out! So cooperating, here comes some limping gimp of a throwback at my door demanding payment! Within that they pulled the ole what I'll call room packing all booked right next to each other over nothing but pure laziness from the desk, to "house keeping" that doesn't even change anything they "think" doesn't need it on their level sheets and all! On another occasion I was flat out denied a room at the desk with a frowned up, furrowed browed..., desk clerk that clearly was in full on, obvious, discrimination mode! They can't help but make money around here, but never mine again! You're very welcome!

I have stayed at this Courtyard twice. Once in 2022 and recently (July 2026)…read more The hotel underwent a major renovation right after the COVID outbreak. The lobby is beautiful, well lit with both natural and artificial light and spacious. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. We did not have to pay for parking, although I did read a review by a Yelp reviewer that they paid for parking. My wife and I were in the area to visit my parent's grave sites and one of my sisters in nearby Millbrook, N.Y. The hotel has two levels with an elevator. The room we stayed in was spacious with a separate room with two beds, large dresser and a TV with a sliding glass door leading out to a large courtyard. The main living area had a chair, small sofa, desk, a TV and a dresser with a small refrigerator also with a sliding glass door leading out to the courtyard The courtyard was large with tables and lounge chairs to relax outside The room was clean with lots of natural daylight with newer carpeting and did not smell musty like some hotel rooms can. The room and bathroom were both well maintained. In the lobby is a restaurant called The Bistro. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer. The restaurant serves both breakfast (a la carte) featuring Starbucks coffee and dinner. Meals are not included with stays. There are numerous tables available to eat at. There is also a nice lounging area in the front lobby with a TV and simulated fireplace. For added convenience, there is a small desk with a computer and printer if needed. The hotel has a very nice exercise room with several treadmills and weight lifting machines. This location is located on busy Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with many nearby restaurants and stores as well as the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a very short drive from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. It is known for teaching some of the world's best chefs. The Institute offers tours and an opportunity to eat at their restaurant. If you're interested in history, you can visit both the FDR and Vanderbilt museums which is about a thirty drive from the hotel. My one peev with the hotel is that there is only one ice making machine on each level. Which means that you would have to walk across the entire hotel if the room is on the opposite end. I easily recommend staying at ths hotel.

I wish I got her name, but the woman who checked me in Monday around 6:30pm was so delightful. I wish every check-in process was like this! She was so friendly, helpful and sweet. I had trouble getting into my door (turns out I just wasn't turning the knob correctly, LoL!) and she came with me to the door to help me in. I asked about morning coffee and said our film crew (myself included) needs to check out and leave for work at 5:30am, and she put in a request to have the coffee ready for us earlier than normal hours. And sure enough it was there the next morning! Yay! I wish every hotel experience was this nice. Give that woman a raise! Thank you The woman working at The Bistro that night was awesome as well !!

Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.

I felt like a had just checked into the Bates Motel when I was given my room. I was greeted by a…read moredeep stench of cigarettes and poo that permeated through everything in the room emanating from the carpet . The manager tried to cleanse the odor with a can of deodorizing spray, but the monster of a smell was persistent. The bathroom was tiny and dirty. The light casing housed a plethora of dead and alive bugs inside. I was afraid to touch the shower fearing foot fungus was the best thing I could have gotten from the mildewed, cracked walls. The window in the bathroom was broken, not able to properly lock. So I had to reinforce it so that no one could open it from the outside. The carpet in the room was disgusting forcing me to put on sandals before setting foot on the ground. I think the most interesting part about staying at this motel was not the spiders I had to kill in the bathroom or the exposed, disgusting, poor-excuse-for-a ventilation system that blew out gross air, but it was the drug bust at 11pm in the room next door which turned into a chase on foot for the strung out girlfriend. (In case you were wondering, they found 10 unused syringes of heroine, some used needles, and a bit of pot.) Needless to say I was disgusted. The one star rating stems from a very nice manager and good weekly rates. A great place if you can deal with all that!
