The servers, bartenders and bridal attendants were very kind and courteous. Perfect for a fall wedding with beautiful views - especially for smaller events for people who love a victorian atmosphere. My 1 less star is due to our table collapsing. Nobody at my table was there (dancing), but one of the guests jacket got soaked. The staff made sure all was ok and that the rest of the night went perfectly, but ideally, that shouldn't happen. I can't add to anyone else's comments about air conditioning because it was a cold evening, but all the guests last night were quite comfortable. Great night. Would love to come back again.

Now it has upgraded its rooms, they say, and immensely jacked up their rates, according to their website. Here's one substantive change that I learned about while going to the website. It used to cater to Russian-American people and its cafeteria had pretty good stuffed cabbage and borscht. Real authentic food. Now it has typical yuppie fare. I have to emphasize that I have NOT been to this place in some years, and CANNOT vouch for it. Some of the reviews are discouraging. Be sure to read them before booking. I'm actually thinking seriously of deleting this review, as I don't want to mislead people. The three stars are based on the uniqueness of the location and the grounds (and nostalgia I guess). That is all. Caveat emptor.

Photos online showed updated rooms. The room was clearly updated with linens and the bathroom fixtures were new as well. I did find some minor things that I addressed with the owner. I know everyone wants things perfect for a night away, but I believe in constructive criticism. I can assure you I wouldn't stay in a gross room so with that being said we both slept great! Super quiet which we didn't expect with two big buses there. I would definitely stay again. Again the owner is a stand up man and proud of his hotel.

The pull out sofa was also a great feature for us. The room even had 2 wall mounted TV's. Great for me :) Many outlets and some USB ports on night stands. WIFI worked great too. The bathroom was nice and had a shampoo, cond. ,and body wash dispenser. Room had a microwave, mini frig. and a K-cup coffee maker. (also, 24 hr. coffee/tea in lobby). The beds were comfy as well and we all slept good. The heated pool was opened from 9am till 11. Kids loved that. Breakfast was great. Kids loved the Cinnabons and pancake maker. Paul made sure everything was fully stocked. Greatly appreciated that. Staff were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. . When I approached the staff, the operations manager was extremely RUDE and defensive and said they do not have to answer to anyone since they are independent. The room, listed by Global Luxury Suites via VRBO, was supposed to be a 247 sq ft luxury suite with private balcony separate living room, dining room, full Kitchenette, spa-like bathroom, access to fitness center and business lounge for a 5-night stay. Upon check-in yesterday at 4p, I discovered the actual room was nothing like the advertisement. The room is not a suite, but an extremely small 140 sq ft room. There is no dining area, living area, or full kitchenette (see attached photos). The private "balcony" is not private and access to the fitness center is not included. I immediately contacted Global Luxury Suites to request the suite I reserved and paid, but was told there are no other options. I requested a refund but was also denied. I requested to speak with management (supervisor) but instead, I was repeatedly placed on hold until the department closed at 5p. This suite was part of my partner's birthday celebration and our engagement weekend. I chose this location based on the features and amenities listed in the advertisement on VRBO. The merchant used false advertisement to scam me out of $1500 total. The product provided is NOT what is advertised. This was overall a sale with false pretenses made to me, resulting in fraudulent misrepresentation and I want my money refunded.

Because of this, my friend, who drove from Virginia to the northernmost tip of New Jersey, and myself, trekking over 3 hours from Philly, arrived at our hotel only to discover that our accommodations would be en plein air--seeing as how whole segments of the buildings facade were removed for construction. Not good. Now when we called to reserve our room, you'd think they might have mentioned that their building looked straight out of Bosnia and was covered in the chalky aftermath of the plastering and subsequent sanding of renovations. But. No. I'm giving them two stars because they allowed us to look at the room and it didn't look too bad. However, we still felt the noise and dust should have been disclosed and we tried to book another room somewhere else. But that's another bad thing about growing up in a mountain town--there's only one other hotel and it's probably booked.

A 5 star would be for the best this hotel could have been based on what they offer, not compared to a resort. We stayed here because we needed a place to crash while snowboarding that wasn't a bed-and-breakfast. I booked the room (King bed, $94.00 Saturday Night) via their website. I used the discounted rate for the rewards program because I thought that meant my AAA card because I saw it offered on 3rd party sites. When I showed up the lady said that's not the spot for AAA but was happy to leave the discounted rate for me. I'm not sure if AAA would've gotten me more money off. I showed up an hour before the 2:00pm check-in and asked to check in early. The older lady behind the desk seemed a little hesitant but said "Well it seems your room has been cleaned, so I can't say no..." The room was definitely clean and typical size for a hotel of this kind. The whole place has been renovated since it was Days Inn I was told. TV worked great with no annoying delay. We had a large mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Wi-fi seemed like it was working fine. BEST PART OF THE ROOM: the heat/ac. Worked amazing! Really powerful and in 10 minutes the whole room was 80. turned on the A/C and equally quickly was freezing. The parking spaces are ample and the parking lot/hotel is up on a ledge so no one can see your car from the road for the most part. It's also brightly lit at night. Free continental breakfast including a fresh self-made waffles, cold cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, muffins, coffee, tea, juices. I'd stay again for sure if I planned on snowboarding mountain creek 2 days in a row again... but that's another review...
