The front desk people are very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was healthy and plentiful and delicious (which is hard to come by nowadays, unless you pay a bunch at those high end hotels) When I first arrived, I had left my purse in an uber (with wallet, id, home keys) and was very stressed and distracted. In my moment of stress, I was very agitated and panicked but the man at the front desk was very understanding and patient. The service here was not just professional but truly hospitable. The chocolate chip cookies are also heavenly and so addicting. I highly recommend people stay here! The cleanliness and spaciousness would be good for longer stays too.

For some strange reason, the hot tub has not worked both on this most recent stay and when I'd been here prior. The water has always been "lukewarm" at best. The staff had mentioned being aware of the issue, and that it was being "worked on", but no improvement had been made. I specifically book hotels with indoor pools (and ideally, hot tubs) because it's a means of relaxation I like to enjoy at the end of each day. It's hardly relaxing to sit in room temperature water, even if there are bubble jets. Since this appears to be a common issue with this hotel, they may want to invest in some equipment upgrades for their pool and hot tub to improve the guest experience. The little convenience store right next to the front desk is very convenient. Nice to run down for a quick snack or drink, but the cooler with their cold beverages wasn't keeping the drinks cold. I found myself buying multiple bottles of water, and putting them in my room refrigerator to make them cold enough to drink (since I like my water ice cold). It would be nice if products prices were labeled. The breakfast experience needs some help as well; the "flow" isn't obvious. There's a sign stating "please seat yourself" but after I'd seated myself I had to flag down someone because I didn't know whether I had to open a check, or just serve myself at the buffet. The person just said to serve myself. I went up by the buffet which was essentially empty. Another worker said she'd take my order "at the chefs window" - which I didn't see anywhere. I wandered aimlessly for a few moments after she'd disappeared, and she then reappeared and took my order off in the corner. It would have been nice to have a clear "flow" established. Instead of having people seat themselves, have a host seat them in an available seat, and a server check in before people go up to the buffet. This server can then advise latecomers if the buffet is closed, and take a la carte orders or offer whatever is available. There were also hairs left in my bathroom sink and on the rim of my bathtub. There definitely could have been better cleaning done on my room prior to it being released for the next guest (me). Also, the bathroom was about 20-30 degrees colder than my room. I stayed here during November 2019, so it wasn't more than 35 degrees outside. The room heat worked well, but the bathroom had no heat whatsoever, so going to the restroom in the middle of the night was far too jarring to be comfortable. All in all this is a convenient place to stay but I think other hotels in the area have their stuff together just a bit better.

Booked 2 rooms months before they were needed for a wedding we were attending May 30th, 2026. I called Hilton Garden Inn 3 times to discuss this and had 3 very different, rude people telling me that is their fee and nothing can be done about it. I even called corporate, and was told it was their policy. Ok, nothing I can do at this point, but I will NEVER stay at another Hilton again. I go and check in, pay the $150.00 for early check in and go to my room. I come down, enter the lobby and see other guests checking in. Apparently, they were told if you download the Hilton App, you do NOT have to pay the early check in fee. So tell me, why did the 3 people I spoke to on the phone, as well as corporate and the girl that check me in, never me that??? This is unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE. I did bring it back to their attention and the money was deducted from my account. When I asked the girl, why didn't you tell me about the APP, she said she was doing the best she can. Do not get scammed by this place. If they try to hit you up with the early check in fee, as about downloading the Hilton APP. They tried to take advantage of me. If I did not hear other people talking in the lobby, I would of never know and they would of gotten more money from me. Please be aware of this.

One nit, the wall in the shower was cracked and the hotel at night during my one night stay had a motorcycle that rev'd his engine at 5am outside my window. Otherwise it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is served in the lobby, and while it was busy with people - the server made sure everyone had what they needed, and that everything was reloaded for service when running low. Agree that there are lots of restaurants nearby (one across the street) and I had a good stay and can recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites in Rockaway.

I stayed here because I wanted to be away from the masses and crowds, and the Waterstone Inn fit the bill perfectly. The inn is literally across from the lake, so makes for a perfect summer or weekend getaway. The inn provides kayaks and canoes free of charge to go out on the lake. I communicated with Maureen before my stay and she was very quick to answer any questions. She was an absolute delight to converse with throughout my stay. She mentioned they weren't sure if they'd reopen after 2020, but they invested more money into the property and made some renovations to make the place more comfortable for guests, despite being an older property. All rooms/suites have a private bathroom and locks for privacy. I stayed in the spacious Bradford Suite on the 3rd floor, but all the rooms they offered seemed equally delightful to stay in when I took a peek. The place is so small and cozy that I didn't encounter any other guests except during breakfast hours (I think only one other room was occupied mid-week). Breakfast is included and is delicious...the food is freshly made to order. There are plenty of places to sit for breakfast whether it be a couch in the lounge, the window-side tables with lake views, or the front porch. The nautical and lake themes throughout the property were very well thought out and tasteful to give you a "getting away" type of feel. The porch area is welcoming and the perfect place where you can enjoy spectacular views of the action on the lake. The property has a parking lot on property directly adjacent to the inn which always felt safe and secure. The town of Greenwood Lake on the NJ/NY border is very cute, and was the filming location of a lesser known recent movie starring Morgan Freeman called the Magic of Belle Isle. All staff I encountered were amazingly welcoming, so I wouldn't hesitate to run as small businesses like these deserve to be supported.

The homemade breakfasts were so savory and yummy and let me not forget to mention the unlimited coffee, tea and lemonade that was provided throughout the entire stay. The location is close to many restaurants, shops, and the beach. We had fun kayaking out on the lake. Kayaks and canoes are available on the premises at no additional cost.
