The table is set with a floral-patterned plate, a matching napkin, and a fork. There is a coffee mug with a painted floral design, containing a cinnamon stick, and a small pitcher of syrup. Colorful glassware, including a blue water glass and a purple goblet, are also on the table. The background shows a cozy, vintage-style room with wooden furniture and patterned rugs.

This is a wonderful escape place! The room was very comfortable, antiques are beautiful, very comfortable chairs and bed. Love the furniture in the other rooms. Very well done. Breakfast was amazing. Yes, it's downtown Hackettstown and you hear traffic, but so what...not a game changer. I highly recommend coming here!

Private bathroom - A bathroom with a vintage aesthetic, including a white pedestal sink with dark fixtures, a toilet with a bottle of hand sanitizer on top, and a floral-patterned shower curtain on the left. The walls are decorated with framed artwork and a mirror with an ornate frame. The ceiling has decorative tin tiles, and the floor is covered with black and white hexagonal tiles. There are towels hanging on a rail and a small shelf with toiletries.

Everything about Everitt House is wonderful!! The home is beautiful and clean. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. The entire house was charming! The breakfast was delicious. I had quiche and fresh fruit. You are seated in a beautiful sun room and are treated like royalty! Ricardo was so friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Don is an amazing chef and so kind. I highly recommend that you stay here if you are near Hackettstown.

Beautiful cozy place! We had reservations at James on Main and decided to make a night of it, we were so happy to find the Everitt House within walking distance. We visited the two breweries in town, Man Skirt and Czig Meister for pre and post dinner beers. Our breakfast in the morning was dubbed "the James on Main Breakfast" it was so delicious! The host were super friendly and made our stay feel really welcoming and warm. Hope to visit this unique spot again sometime!

We stayed this past weekend and LOVED it! Ricardo and Don were excellent hosts and very gracious. We stayed in the Everitt Room and it was very comfortable and nicely decorated. If we have the opportunity to stay again - we will!

A girl with dark hair and glasses is seated at a dining table, holding a cup and drinking. The table is set with breakfast items including French toast, sausage patties, fruit, and a small dessert. There are colorful glasses, a sunflower arrangement, and various dishes and utensils. The setting appears to be a cozy, well-lit room with lace curtains and wooden furniture.

This B&B inn is under new management. Ricardo and Don are great hosts who truly care about their customers. Every room is inviting and it feels like you are stepping back in time. Highly recommend!

I had never heard of this venue, but upon hearing my best friend booked it for her wedding, I…read morecouldn't wait to see it in person on her special day. We arrived super early in the morning to start the process of getting ready. Once we arrived at the bridal suite the lights were off, and it was freezing cold inside. You would think that since they were expecting us they'd be prepared with the lights turned on and the bridal suite warm. We all wore our winter jackets the entire time leading up to the wedding because it felt colder inside the suite than it was outside. People were going to their cars and sitting in them for extra warmth. Apparently, the innkeeper didn't even know there was no heat. How do you not know what is going on?! They kept playing with the remote attempting to make it warmer, but it didn't work. She found a space heater, but it kept tripping the power constantly. The poor hair and makeup artists had to keep stopping because the lights and their appliances shut off, and we had to trip the electrical panel. I would say this happened a good 10-15 times throughout our time of getting ready, no exaggeration. On top of getting ready in an ice box, the breakfast and coffee we had in the bridal suite was extremely underwhelming. Also it wasn't set up, we had to ask for it. There were no utensils, we had to ask for that as well. And the coffee provided was a Keurig machine with no fresh milk, just little disposable single use room temperature creamers. It's a shame because the bridal suite was truly stunning, but more things went wrong than they did right while we were in there, and we couldn't wait to get out of there. I was so excited to check into my room to warm up. I don't know which was worse .. the ice box bridal suite or my 90° room that had a lady bug infestation. My room was scorching hot, too hot. I went to let the innkeeper know what was going on and she was quite frazzled. Literally nothing was going right for us and then this. Apparently, they came to clean out some of the ladybugs, but when I went back in there, there were still plenty so I went back to her and said something again. I understand ladybugs are good luck, but no one wants to sleep in a bug infested room. There was also no control to adjust the temperature in my room. I ended up having to hold the windows open with personal items because they wouldn't stay opened on their own. It was probably about 20° out and I had to leave the windows open all night in the middle of winter. This was also an issue with other guests who stayed on the property. According to other guests, it was either scorching hot with no temperature control options or freezing, no in between. They put space heaters in a ton of the rooms that also had no heat. For what those rooms cost, this was not ok at all. Also when we were sitting down at the table about to eat our salads, the wait staff came over and removed the paper QR codes on the tables. They weren't supposed to do that. I later found out the QR codes provided a link for all of the guests to share photos from the evening. Why would they remove something if they didn't know what it was? The place was really beautiful, but the amount of things that went wrong were unacceptable and extremely stressful for the bride. This should've been the best and most carefree day she had, but instead she was dealing with constant nonsense and chaos. Not worth the headache of having a wedding here and I would never return as an overnight guest. Beautiful property, terrible upkeep.

All the staff we interacted with were helpful and kind, making our experience even more pleasant. There are also great spots for photo ops throughout the location, so that's a definite perk. For dinner, there were several options available, but I was given meat instead of a vegetarian meal. Eventually, the correct meal was brought to me some time after everyone else was able to dig in. Knowing that they were going to throw away my original dish, I asked if it could be boxed up to take home, but I was told no. I'm not a fan of wastefulness, especially when such a simple mistake happens. Overall, we had a lovely time and appreciated being able to attend such a fun celebration at this location.

Minimized exposure to others versus staying with family or certainly a hotel chain. The owner Marsha was clearly prepared with COVID precautions. Everything seems well thought out for making guests comfortable with snacks, coffee, sodas, cookies, available at all times. The house is quite large and with the barn also accessible, there's no issue finding a quiet spot for reading or even listening to music with a glass of wine using the Sonos music system (even available in the barn!). The rooms were very comfortable--which is saying something in the middle of a 0 degree winter night--and we were impressed by the renovations throughout the inn. Breakfast was also delightful, and the innkeeper adjusted for food sensitivities, which was a pleasant surprise. (The oat milk-based French toast and frittata with red peppers and artichokes were really tasty!) We are looking forward to staying here again and recommending to friends and family. It is just under 8 miles away from downtown Chester.

It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

We were on site for a small gathering of gamer friends and so I also tried some of their offerings in the small cafe. I tried Italian wedding soup for lunch and got several hot tea drinks. All excellent. They have a small "snack room" near the main entrance that has popcorn, and water, coffee maker, and other small amenities to make your stay more enjoyable.
