The house itself is a beautiful blend of historic character and a few modern touches--staying in the Allamuchy Room felt like a true retreat. They went above and beyond by securing us a dinner reservation at a local restaurant where, thanks to their connection, we were treated like royalty! We recently spent one night at Everitt House for a quick anniversary getaway and we had a wonderful time! The hosts Ricardo and Don are so welcoming and warm and you can feel the love and pride they have in their home. The house is filled with beautiful antique furniture and our room was comfortable and clean with cozy quilts and a nicely appointed private bathroom. Breakfast was delicious! It was served in the sun room and offered hot and cold options. I'd highly recommend the pancakes if available. Location was fantastic, very easy walk to main street Hackettstown and all the little shops there. Everything from the towels to the tp to the linens were solid good quality. It's an older building so regulating the temperature wasn't so easy but it was comfortable. Beautiful cozy place! We had reservations at James on Main and decided to make a night of it, we were so happy to find the Everitt House within walking distance. We visited the two breweries in town, Man Skirt and Czig Meister for pre and post dinner beers. Our breakfast in the morning was dubbed "the James on Main Breakfast" it was so delicious! My husband and I stayed at the Everitt House while attending a wedding. Our stay far exceeded our expectations! The house is from the 1800s. The owners purchased it in 2020. It is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. You feel the love with all the attention to detail and the very thoughtfully decorated rooms. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. We have stayed at a lot of bed and breakfast over the years but the Everitt House has set a new bar. While the hosts Don and Ricardo were both charming and accommodating, the rooms were decorated beautifully and stocked with no detail forgotten. The snack room was stocked with hot and cold drinks and with sweet and salty snacks. They even thought to have scissors to open the honey packets. Breakfast was amazing and sent me on a quest to find the sheep yogurt locally (which I have) And lastly, they gave great details in offering restaurants, breweries and a Lavender farm. My husband and I had the occasion to spend the night after attending the St. Patrick's Day parade. The hosts could not be more gracious and welcoming. You can tell how proud they are of their beautiful home. Our room was so comfortable, especially the bed. I truly cannot recall a more comfy bed while traveling. One impressive thing about the Everitt House is the extent to which the hosts offer locally sourced specialty items, including artisan soap, sheep milk yogurt and coffee beans. This is a great location, just a short walk from the downtown shops, restaurants and breweries. Breakfast in the sunroom was an absolute treat, French Toast for me. Thoroughly enjoyed a weekend getaway with some friends at this wonderful B&B! As soon as you step through the door, you are transported back into time. The decor is top notch, the hosts Don and Ricardo are warm and very attentive. I could not have asked for better hosts! I stayed in the Allamuchy Room, which has a gorgeous view of the mountains. The room was richly appointed and the bed was very comfortable. En suite bathroom was absolutely comfortable and stocked with any toiletry you could possible need or want along with fluffy towels and robes. I can't say enough wonderful things about the Everitt House! Where to begin?! From the moment my husband and I arrived, we felt at home. Don greeted us at the door with a huge smile and our magical weekend began! To begin, the house is absolutely STUNNING! Don gave a us a tour of the entire house and we were able to chat with him about the furnishings, bedspreads, etc. Next, he showed us to our room, The Everitt, and told us about the snack room. This is not any old snack room - it's filled with chips of all kinds, a candy bar, water, sodas, a wide variety of coffees, teas, you name it! It contains everything and anything you maybe craving. And that's when Don is not offering a "tea hour" ! In our room was a menu listing a variety of magnificent breakfast choices including numerous beverages to go with them. (Hot apple cider!!) You also had so many options of when you could have breakfast. The room contained so many amenities in the bathroom - I was overwhelmed! From the soaps to shampoos to chocolates in the room - every last detail was considered. And the towels smelled AMAZING! I usually cannot stand the smell of towels out and these towels I could put my nose in all day! My husband and I went to dinner in the town nearby and it was wonderful. The next morning during breakfast in the sun room, we had to opportunity to meet Ricardo who was just as charming. Not only were we served what we ordered, but were also given a variety of fruit, muffins, scones, teas, coffees... The amount of food and how it was delicately served was FABULOUS! I literally felt like a queen. And then, Ricardo even offered to take pictures of us and emailed them to us. These were professional style pictures! Now if the stay could not be any better... we ended our visit with their precious dog Takoda! What I really enjoyed about Don and Ricardo was their attention to detail and genuine warmth. Nothing about them was fake. When they had a conversation with you, it was real and inviting. My husband and I are definitely planning on going back again and again. I am so impressed with the Everitt House Bed & Breakfast. We stayed this last weekend and had the most enjoyable, relaxed, and pampered stay. The B&B is under new ownership/management and they have brought a very high level of care and style to this B&B, down to every last detail! Comfort, quality, and experience. Upon arrival we were impressed with the decor, staying traditional victorian, with modern comfort. Downstairs as you walk through the beautiful living room area is the conservatory with afternoon tea cakes, tea, coffee, cold water, and lavender lemonade. Upstairs, our room was cooled (it was in the 90s outside) in preparation for our arrival. There is a snack room upstairs where you can get cold water, seltzer, teas, coffee, and snacks in case you are looking for a midnight snack. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated in early 1900s style and wonderfully cozy and comfortable. The bathroom had all the comforts and needs available..and then some!! Breakfast option were bountiful and absolutely delicious. Ricardo and Don were amazing and a joy to talk to and were more than happy to do everything possible to make our stay warm and comfortable. Our family stayed at the Everitt House several years ago and it was such a beautiful space that we decided to stay there again when we were back in the area this summer. We found out that it had a new owner, Don, and had only recently opened back up after him making extensive improvements. I really can't express how much we loved our stay there. Don was an extremely personable, accommodating, and kind host. The improvements that he made completely leveled up our stay to an absolute pleasure. From the absolutely scrumptious breakfast fare, comfortable and beautiful rooms, delicious afternoon tea, and delightfully gracious surroundings, it was a fantastic experience in every way. The Everitt House is a beautiful home from the late 1800s, exquisitely decorated with care and detail. Each piece of decor- from the hanging herbs and dried flowers to the perfectly placed pillows and pictures take you back in time. The sunroom is so masterfully curated, you could sit there for hours sipping one of many teas offered or catching up on a favorite book. Don and Ricardo are the most gracious hosts. They were extremely accommodating on every level. They added personal touches to our stay, such as having juice boxes for my children and offering gluten free options for breakfast. As a group of early risers, they even served coffee over an hour earlier than planned. The entire home is so cozy, but immaculate.
