Very clean motel about a 10 mile drive from Milford, PA. I was in town for 7 days and spend 2 of them here. The owner and family live onsite and are very vigilant and take pride in their motel. If you are passing through, this is a great option for a single person. There may be other rooms with 2 beds, but my room had one queen size bed and micro fridge. The rooms are small and will be a great place of refuge for just a few days if needed. Customer Service was top-notch by this Family run business! read more

I give this motel a 5 star because for the price point and a motel, the owners are doing an excellent job of providing a clean, comfortable safe place to get a good nights sleep. When we checked out, my husband walked off and left his backpack in the room. We were only 30 minutes down the road when the motel called us and alerted us to the forgotten bag. Vacation crisis averted! Plus, I would recommend eating next door at the Village Diner. It is everything you dream a diner should be: fast, fresh, quality food with efficient and friendly service. Thanks to the owners, and operators of this place, it surely ranks as one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. So clean, that I was super cautious not to disrupt the flow of cleanliness. The rooms are spacious with modern decor. All the little details one looks for in a hotel room are here, and add up to a plus plus for me. Microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, flat screen TV, extra pillows, room to walk, and even a little night light. Why the 4 stars? We stayed here on our first night of vacation, and it set the tone for a great trip! The owners clearly put a lot of energy and effort into rehabbing what was a mid-century highway motel - everything was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. I'm a light sleeper and initially wondered about the noise from the highway, but the fan (white noise) easily covered that. Comfy bed, too. This is such A nicely run property. The rooms have a homey feel, not chain-like which was a nice change. Immaculate. A few minutes drive from the center of town and even though it's right off the main road, it's very peaceful with a beautiful forested backyard and a bench in front to enjoy the trees right across the road. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. We asked for real glasses for cocktails that we brought and Also a wine opener which they happily supplied. Very good shower. This is a decent motel that you can book cheap in a week's advance. The room was very clean and spacious, as well as the bathroom. My girlfriend and I picked this location due to its proximity to the Delaware river because we were doing a two day hiking trip. It's only a half hour from Buttermilk Falls and Adams Creek; Nj and Pa respectfully. I was a little annoyed all the windows of the room were open, however they all had screens and it does cut down on energy use. Furthermore the AC cooled the room down rather quickly. The next selling point was that the rooms all had a mini fridge and microwave because we brought our own dinner. The tvs are also hdmi so you can connect a computer or tablet with an adapter to stream Netflix or what not and the free wifi worked great. That's what my girlfriend I did with her tablet and everything played fine with no loading issues. All in all I would stay here again but will most likely try to explore another overnight place on the next overnight trip. There is also a diner next door called village that is amazing for breakfast! That's the other major selling point. read more

I stayed at the Scottish Inns for one night for a nearby wedding I was going to. It was a perfectly decent stay for the price. Most of the wedding party for the Port Jervis event stayed at the Best Western or Hampton Inn, but it was still a little out of my price range for just one night's sleep. Everything was clean and all I needed was the AC to work, so no worries there. The TV had a good range of channels as well. Kind of annoying - the woman who checked me in asked me three different times if I was the only room occupant. For some reason, she was super suspicious that I would be camping and bringing a bunch of people back with me (which, by the way, even if I did have one extra person come, I paid for the room, so it shouldn't matter). Anyway, they're sticklers about room occupancy here FYI. read more

The owners of this establishment are absolute angels. After being left quite literally in the dark in the dead of night by the River Rock Inn in Milford, I called the Scottish Inns praying for someone to answer. Not only did they answer the phone at 2am, but they waited for us to arrive, provided us a room, and were extremely friendly and accommodating. When I requested a room with a bathtub for the next night, we were taken care of immediately. These folks know how to run a hotel and how to treat people. When we are back in the area, we will definitely be back! As for the rooms, they are clean and the place is well taken care of. There is an excellent diner next door within walking distance. Couldn't be better. Well...not being located across from an interstate would be slightly better, but that's unavoidable in this tight mountain valley and the rooms are virtually soundproof anyhow. The motel's humane, leafy surrounds are an oasis away from the hell of ammo, fireworks, and walmart stores nearby. Inside, rooms and baths are immaculate (truly), furniture is comfortable, amenities are modern, and family who run it are very friendly and accommodating. Extraordinarily easy check in. What a RATHOLE! My girlfriend and I stopped here as a last resort on a cross-country drive. We had been to 7 other hotels and were glad to finally get a room somewhere. We were not so thrilled once we opened the door! The beds were small and lumpy. I'm not extremely tall, but my feet were hanging off the end. There was only a flat sheet and a thin, scratchy blanket on each. Both of us froze that night. The bathroom was cramped (to put it kindly!). the shower was small and dark and my girl, who is average-sized, could barely squeeze in for a shower. I decided to forgo trying to wiggle into that cell. In sum, the only nice thing about this hotel was the fact that they still had smoking rooms and will take cats. But, for the hundred bucks we paid, I'd rather have slept in the damn U-Haul! read more

I don't know what the other posters were expecting... when you pull up its clear to see this is a 'vintage' roadside type motel. The type common in the days before interstates. My room, #17, was on the end... a king bed, large room, huge windows which opened & a cute (recently modernized) bath. The bath had a shower, no tub. The bed was a Serta, the towels white, soft & fluffy. The furniture was dated, but once you go to sleep you can't see that. Coupons can be found in the motel guides available at the Welcome Center, same exit, for $49.95. Dogs allowed with a fee. Large area behind the motel for exercising dogs. Many of my more recent motel stays in the bigger chains have cost more & weren't as nice. There's a 'vintage' diner next door to the motel too! read more

I stayed at the Scottish Inns for 5 nights due to the power failure in Milford Pa during the 3/3/2018 Storm. I am So happy I chose this Motel as my room was Spotless, I also slept on the most Comfortable Mattress ever Included also was lightning speed internet ( at no extra charge unlike the Major hotels that give you the slowest internet service unless you pay $5.00 dollars daily.) The Motel is Family owned and operated and they are the Nicest, Caring people you will ever want to meet. I will always recommend the Scottish Inns to My Family and friends!!! DO NOT STAY there. If you have made a booking, then try to get it canceled. This motel is the WORST you can step in. The minute you step in, the reeks of the horrible smell. The carpets are dirty. The lock on the doors for entering the motel is broken, so anyone can simply walk in. A security nightmare. The walk to the room is dirty, smelly, marijuana, all the way to your room. The rooms are of fair size but there are hairs in the bathtub. The refrigerator has not been cleaned in ages. And the towels reek of oil smell as they have not been washed. The TV remotes are out of batteries and have not been cleaned for Covid-19 protocols. Outside in the parking lot, there was a Jeep with both front wheels removed. Maybe someone was completely renovating their Jeep, right at the Motel? The parking surface is broken. The grounds are not kept and the grass is growing really tall. The trees have not been trimmed in ages. The front desk person is a rude and nasty and horrible person. Simply save your sanity and stay elsewhere. This Scottish Inn appears to be a family business. If there weren't other Scottish Inns elsewhere, I'd suspect that it was a one-off. Inside the room it's pretty standard for a non-chain roadside motel. Apart from the queen sized bed (smallest queen I've ever seen - I suspect it's actually a full) there's a fridge, a TV, and a desk and plenty roomy to move around in. It is clean, and it was well aired when we came in... but I suspect the AC needs to have its filters cleaned. We closed the windows and turned on the AC and when we came back we found the place has a musty smell. The wireless AC... isn't wireless. Sure, there's a network, and I can detect it with my laptop and phone. Connecting is a different story. When you call the front desk to tell them that you can't get on they tell you that that happens all the time and deliver a wire to you. In room 6 the plug is close enough to the bed that I'm doing all right here. I'd rather have wireless. I disagree with the previous rater on several points - room 6 was nowhere near as small as he described. There's a fridge, a roomy bathroom, and my feet don't hang off the end of the bed (I'm 6'0). He states that he and his girlfriend stayed in a pet-only, smoking room. We're in a no-pet, no smoking room. Maybe that's the difference. For a hundred a night, I expect better. This is very pricey for what you get. Didn't get to try the next-door diner, but if I'd been looking to go to breakfast it would have been a very short walk. One star off for the internet. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel but it's not trying to be one and I dont think with a bunch of renovations if it will ever be more than 3 star at best. In saying that, the rooms are clean and affordable. They are doing room renovations right now and our room had been newly painted with new tile but the rug still needs replacing. Our room had a refrigerator and since we arrived in colder weather the heat need to be on. Heating is old in wall type but worked just fine. The main thing is that is was clean and they offered non smoking rooms. They are also pet friendly which is a plus. I wouldl come back here again. If your looking for a clean, affordable, no frills place to stay. This is a good choice. read more

The motel staff was friendly, the room was clean, and was in a good location for what we were looking for. As long as you understand it is a fairly roomy motel economy room, this is one of the best places to stay in the area. They were more than helpful in giving advice on places to eat and things to do. Its right next to a small diner next door for breakfast, and near other places to go in Milford. Well taken care of property for a small motel. It could use updating, but it doesn't really matter, its a good price that is a clean place to rest for a night or two. read more

Sorry this is so long but I thought that maybe I can help someone avoid having to go through what I went through. I don't know if it was just us or everyone goes through what we went through, I surely hope not. Right off the place is very clean and almost has too much air fresher when you walk in the room. We were satisfied with the room. We stayed in the same room 9 for 2 nights while waiting for our new home to be ready. King size bed, flat screen tv, microwave, & refrigerator. If it were not for the following I would have given them 5 Stars as it looks like they have worked hard to provide nice rooms. It didn't even bother me to pay the extra for the 2nd night (weekend). When we arrived the woman behind the desk played 100 questions and repeated over and over her long list of requirements and rules. These rules also include her telling you exactly where to park. This was unfortunate for us because once she gave us the key it left us to drag our belongings around looking for the room which was all of the way in the back. Once we got there the phone rings, it was the lady in the office telling us she had given us the wrong room key. I again went through the 100 questions on the phone so she could be assured we hadn't touched anything in the room. Who had time for that as I had to drop my things and run in for the phone. she knew this because she advised me that she watched us on the cameras! We then had to drag our things back to the front, passed our car, go to the office, go through the 100 questions again to get the right key, leaving us to then drag our belongings across the front almost to the opposite end of the hotel to the "right" room this time, thank god!. This was in frigid winter weather with snow and ice in the parking lot. THIS IS A WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO SMOKES!!!!! Okay so I am just going to say that yes it's bad for you but there are still people out here that smoke. If you are a respectful person who smokes there is no problem. My husband and I do smoke outdoors, we don't smoke around children or others that don't care for it and we discard our cigarette butts rather than throwing them on the ground. We also have been converting to Juul (for those that don't know, it's an e-cigarette, vape). as part of the 100 requirements & rules there is a no smoking policy at this hotel, not even vape. They are part of The Scottish Inn Franchise which requires them to have all no smoking rooms. Understandable, I get that and like I said we are considerate smokers. But this place is out of control. The woman told us over and over again as if the signs everywhere were not enough along with the stiff $300.00 penalty for breaking The Scottish Inn Laws. I really got tired of hearing it. I was told to smoke outside, close the door behind me, to make sure I was far away from the closed door and that when I am done don't bring the butts back in the room and to stay outside and "air out" before going back inside! We did as instructed. We were not sure if our home would be ready that day so we let her know we were checking out and that we may be back that evening. We had a conversation with her about work and she then takes me back into the room we just checked out of. No problems. I had gathered the towels and linens and had bagged all of the trash myself to help out housekeeping. It's just something I always do. So she was in the room with me and you would think if there was an issue she would have said it right then, no? Well we come back that night and I get hit with "My room smelled like smoke & beer when I left" WOW! That's a good one. We don't drink at all! I advised her of this and asked her if she saw a beer can or anything like that because if she found one it's not our fault that housekeeping missed it while cleaning before we checked in. Plus since I don't drink I can smell it a mile away. As far as smoke I told her to check her cameras because we only smoked 1 cigarette each and it was outside, it was just too damn cold out. We put them out in a cup of water which I left outside and then took it with me and discarded it off of the premises. So we end up staying that night and decided to take the long walk and smoke in our car. While there I see a contractor from one of the crews that are staying there open his door, stand inside the door, lit up a cigarette and was smoking it in the doorway! I was beside myself and even yelled across the parking lot to him. I don't know if he was charged or not but I was accused of smoking in the room when I was nowhere near it just because I was honest when I answered her question of if we smoke. I understand the franchise and ratings stuff. I also understand how smoke damages and lingers, this is why I don't smoke in my own home. But it's my right to smoke if I want and as long as I am being respectful of others while doing so, it's my business and it just feels like borderline discrimination and it's downright embarrassing to have This happen to you. . read more

Located on US 6 / US 209 just N of Milford PA. Drive up to the door type old style motel. I found this motel to be very clean, with a large new modern bath. Priced very reasonable. Conveniently located ajacent to I-84 yet I never heard the highway traffic. Mattress was a bit firmer than I am accustomed to, but I still slept soundly. The Family Diner next door was very convenient as I did not have to drive, just a short walk and the food was good and serving was more than I could finish. read more

I travel several times a year between Maine and Va. This is where I always stay for an overnight layover. The rooms are clean & spacious and the staff is always pleasant and very helpful. I've never yet had a problem with their wireless connection when I've stayed. It's actually been very good for my purposes (MMO gamer). I've always gotten the coupon and have never paid more than $55 a night. I've tried several other places in both PA and NY before finding this one. Sure, they were a lot fancier....and cost around $110 to $130; but when I'm sleeping, I could care less about fancy. I just want it to be clean and be able to sleep.
