The marker reads, "First established in 1852 as a summer hotel, its restaurant received widespread recognition for innovative French cuisine under the management of Louis Fauchère, master chef at New York City's famed Delmonico's Restaurant. He introduced fine ingredients, progressive recipes, and the concept of the menu. Guests have included American Presidents and Pennsylvania governors, as well as celebrated artists, writers and performers." The marker was erected in 2007 by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. There is street parking here. [Review 1715 of 2024 - 668 in Pennsylvania - 22738 overall]

I will say this was our first time here. The bartender looked at us like o' here are some more. Not friendly, did not say a word, just ignored. That was not a good start to the night. We went to check in for our reservation and the hostess was actually the manager. She sat us and was very nice. Our table was not cleaned from the people before us. It was sticky and had crumbs on it. Once we notified her she rushed back to clean it. She actually took our drink order, and our food order. Our waiter was alright, overwhelmed and not too engaging. That did not bother me, but he was not what I would say made the night. We ordered the 3 filets, the risotto and beef, and the beef meal. The filets were burnt on the outside med inside. Out of 5 I would say 2. The risotto my wife loved. It tasted good well prepared. The beef meal was good too. I say way to much salt, but that because I have high blood pressure. We ordered desserts. I had the cheese cake which the filling was good the crust horrible. My daughter took the tiramisu, which was disgusting. I feel that the baker added too much alcohol. The outside was crusty hard, the inside gooey. My wife took the gelato raspberry, that is what we all enjoyed. Now when it comes to food and dessert there are good days and bad days, but for the price it should not had been that bad. I am not sure if I will go back again.

The owners are incredibly kind and take great pride in maintaining the property. The individual cabins make our stays feel unique, and our daughter always looks forward to staying in "her little cabin," which makes the trip even more special. Most recently, we experienced an unexpected vehicle breakdown while traveling. The owners supported us, even though they had no obligation to do so. Their kindness meant more to us than they probably realize. We will absolutely continue staying at Myers whenever we're traveling through the area. If you're looking for a clean, welcoming place with genuinely caring owners, I highly recommend it.

Cons: -heat/thermostat isn't consistent... it blows directly on the bed closest to the window so that part of the room gets super hot while the bathroom area is still cold. You have to turn it way up to get the room up to warm and then turn it down. -tv is limited as far as commercial-free channels and you cannot stream or mirror. -the black out curtains did not reach the windowsill so light crept in right at eye level in the morning. Also they did not overlap and we had to close them with a hair-clip. -No snack shop in the lobby- just vending machines that only take singles. The front desk kindly made change for us. -The saline pool smelled weird... -we booked another night and I called the front desk early in the morning to keep the same room, and they said it was ok, i checked-in online and all looked good, so we went back to sleep and then the front desk kept calling because it wasn't going through on her end and said i had to come down... so i did and then showed her that it worked on my app and she said oh, ok then. A Perfect Wellness Getaway for Burnt-Out Parents…read more My husband and I spent just one night at The Lodge at Woodloch to celebrate our anniversary--our first time away from the kids since they were born--and it was everything we needed to recharge. From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. No tipping worries, a warm welcome with a handy tote and waterbottle, and a quick orientation set the tone. Yes, it's a splurge--but worth every penny for the details alone. We loved strolling the nature trails, spotting deer, and relaxing in the woods cabin stocked with water, tea, bug wipes, and even a s'mores kit (plus a real bathroom few steps away!) Kayaking was peaceful, and our massages melted the stress away--though I do wish they had included fingers! The Whisper Lounge was a dream: dim lights, cozy silence, and snacks that let you fully unwind. Coffee/tea/water everywhere. Meals were fresh, organic, and delicious--especially the salads straight from their farm. The three included meals per day made dining a highlight (just don't recommend the pork bao - dry side) We took chakra yoga, tai chi, self defense and even a sketch/painting class--everything was thoughtfully led and enriching. Loved all of our instructors! Only feedback: separate the activity desk from the spa desk, as the spa reps seemed stressed. Also be sure to check the bill to ensure you are not charged an extra meal. Overall, we left grounded, nourished, and already looking forward to our return. Just 2.5 hours from NYC--highly recommend for parents or anyone needing a true reset. (Instagram @Jubes111 )

Oops…read more My expectations were: - a quiet, warm place to spend the night. - don't break the budget. - be close to Milford. - plug in my phone. - get a hot shower. I was really exhausted and just wanted to sleep, so I wasn't looking for free wifi and was therefore not disapointed when there was none. The heat was off when I got in, and it was close to freezing. I turned it on and was treated to the churning, bubbling strains of the badly maintained heater chorus for a few hours. When I woke up, it was pleasantly warm. The road goes right past the door, but the traffic is scarce and you couldn't hear much (if any) of it anyway. The water in the shower was hot enough to scald, if you wanted it to. I didn't, so just turned it down. The wall outlet was falling apart, but it managed to hold the adapter well enough to charge the phone. The Ritz, this ain't. Wasn't what I was looking for. Food was delicious. Breakfast buffet every morning was the best buffet I've ever had. My only con is that I feel like some of the things should've been included in the price versus having an extra fee. For example, there's a movie night option but it costs $45 per person... (though it comes with popcorn + candy). I feel like the movie viewing should be free. There's also an option for their "famous" breakfast buns that cost $7 per bun. Not an unreasonable cost, but since you're already paying a daily fee for food it seems like something like this should be included.
