My family stayed at The Appalachian for a quick visit over Father's Day weekend. Located at Mountain Creek, it's surrounded by activities like mountain biking, trails, slopes, and a water park. We were drawn to the area for the NJ Beer and Food Festival held at Crystal Springs Resort. Initially, we aimed for a room at CSR, but at over $620 per night, it was too costly. So, I searched on Expedia and found a studio condo listed at half the price. The listing was titled "Serenity Now" - Sunsets Mtn Creek Ski Resort Remodeled Fireplace WIFI. We ended up in Appa unit #361, hosted by Gerry, who was very communicative via email and responsive via text. We were pleased with the studio's condition. It featured a fully stocked kitchenette and a bathroom with limited toiletries. A parking pass for the underground garage was included, which was convenient. The only downside was that my allergies flared up during our stay. Initially, I suspected the AC filter, but upon inspecting further, I found pet hair on the blanket underneath the comforter, suggesting someone had violated the no-pets policy before our arrival. Despite this, it was an overall pleasant stay. Although my kids didn't use the pool on-site, it looked inviting. I would consider visiting again and booking Gerry's unit. Compared to some negative reviews, it appears Gerry maintains his unit better than other condo owners.

It was a lovely relaxing long weekend, the room did show some signs of age but it wasn't anything that took away from the experience. Grounds were pretty, the pools, hot tubs and areas were clean and nice. Goes to show that you really can't go off the stars on yelp. This is our new winter getaway

Outside of the wedding, all my interactions with the staff were kind. The room itself was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit dated. I did get to utilize many of the amenities due to wedding festivities but the pools looked wonderful. Overall, a very good stay although the price felt a bit steep, even after the wedding block discount.

The room smelled funny. On top of that, the cabinet door in their bathroom fell and hit our kid. Unbelievable! The front desk told us our room was indeed cleaned, but when we actually had our room cleaning service the next day, we were finally given a bar of soap and the room actually smelled nice. Makes us wonder if our room was never cleaned when we first checked in. All their amenities, other than the swimming pool and gym, is actually surprisingly small. I would not recommend this resort The restaurants outside of the resort is actually pretty good though. I highly recommend Blue Spice Kitchen

We drove 6 hours and took time off work to attend a wedding to be left without power for 3+ hours... who knows when it will come back on, we're going to sleep. It may sound like hyperbole but I never had this problem in any hotel in Zimbabwe, Ghana, or other developing countries with spotty grids in all my years of traveling. There are generators keeping the Friday night wedding dance floors lit but all the rooms are dark. Keeping it two stars because the food and service is great! Now I'm hoping the power doesn't come until The morning so when inevitably all the lights and systems whirl to life my sleeping toddler doesn't wake with a fury that can't be put back down.

They were welcoming and we were greeted even though we didn't check in until 9:30ish. We opted to have our breakfast delivered to the room since we like to lounge around in the mornings. The second morning, we had stuffed french toast with bacon and fruit. Can I just say that I still crave both dishes, even after a month? They were the tastiest pancakes and stuffed french toast ever! Plus, we had a cute little view of the pond from our room. Long story short, I would highly recommend taking a weekend trip here. We booked the Appalachian Room and it had a fairly large jacuzzi as well, so that was a plus.

There is a nice winery and some pretty good restaurants within driving distance. The only down comment I'd like to make is that if you are a big person or are claustrophobic, do NOT book the Fox and Hound room. The bathroom is small, and the shower is very small, so you'd have to book a different room. But don't let that deter you from booking here. You'll like this place.

I really appreciated that the room had a microwave and fridge, which made traveling with kids much easier. The beds, sheets, and towels all seemed clean and comfortable. The only downside was that I wish the room had been a bit cleaner. We found some dust bunnies near the desk, and the bathroom lighting was very dark, which made it a little concerning after noticing the dust. When I explained that he was a service dog and I needed him with me, I was told "well he's still a dog" and was dismissed. So yea I couldn't use the breakfast room which made staying here pointless. I could've gone somewhere cheaper that didn't offer food. Other than that I was mostly in and out so can't really complain. Maybe about the random guys yelling and running in the halls at some 1-2am. The staff just needs to educate themselves a bit more regarding things like this. Because I couldve been a total b***h and explained that it was illegal to turn me away and blah blah blah but it honestly wasn't worth the fight and I just decided to check out early instead.
