The bartender looked at us like o' here are some more. Not friendly, did not say a word, just ignored. That was not a good start to the night. We went to check in for our reservation and the hostess was actually the manager. She sat us and was very nice. Our table was not cleaned from the people before us. It was sticky and had crumbs on it. Once we notified her she rushed back to clean it. She actually took our drink order, and our food order. Our waiter was alright, overwhelmed and not too engaging. That did not bother me, but he was not what I would say made the night. We ordered the 3 filets, the risotto and beef, and the beef meal. The filets were burnt on the outside med inside. Out of 5 I would say 2. The risotto my wife loved. It tasted good well prepared. The beef meal was good too. I say way to much salt, but that because I have high blood pressure. We ordered desserts. I had the cheese cake which the filling was good the crust horrible. My daughter took the tiramisu, which was disgusting. I feel that the baker added too much alcohol. The outside was crusty hard, the inside gooey. My wife took the gelato raspberry, that is what we all enjoyed. Now when it comes to food and dessert there are good days and bad days, but for the price it should not had been that bad. I am not sure if I will go back again.

However, it was a very pleasant stay. It's been a HOT summer but the A/C in our room kept us nice and cool. The decor isn't super modern and extravagant like some big hotel chains, but we actually really appreciated that. This hotel was quaint and very endearing and charming. Our room was big with a very comfortable bed, chairs, and plenty of counter space. The bathroom had a sink/tub combo which I was a fan of, and we had a fantastic view of the lake. On top of all of this, the staff was so sweet and friendly to us on our stay. We would definitely return, this was a great vacation and a gorgeous town.

This was our FAVORITE part of the whole weekend! The first morning, we had scrambled eggs, sausage, and fresh fruit with blueberry pancakes. The second morning, we had stuffed french toast with bacon and fruit. Can I just say that I still crave both dishes, even after a month? They were the tastiest pancakes and stuffed french toast ever! Plus, we had a cute little view of the pond from our room. Long story short, I would highly recommend taking a weekend trip here. We booked the Appalachian Room and it had a fairly large jacuzzi as well, so that was a plus.

The bathroom is small, and the shower is very small, so you'd have to book a different room. But don't let that deter you from booking here. You'll like this place.

They asked if we wanted the meat or vegetarian quiche ahead of time and since we couldnt decide we got both and split both haha. We came up during winter when there was still snow on the ground, and when we showed up it was rainy and dark, but in the light of day next morning we could see that the grounds were beautiful. Some on the river, others with an awesome view, and the sounds of the River. River rafting is available with transportation. Walk to the Restaurant and enjoy either the inside bar, the outside bar, or the dining tables. Play corn hole while you're there. Live music some nights. Best of all is the staff, who will do everything to make your stay enjoyable. It is a must-see.
