A Truly Special Getaway - Any Season of the Year…read more Our stay at Crystal Springs Resort--both Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel--was nothing short of extraordinary. The beauty of the property is breathtaking in every direction, no matter the season. Where else can you swim outdoors in a perfectly heated pool while snow is falling all around you? It's an unforgettable experience and one of the many things that makes this resort so special. Everything is immaculately clean, meticulously maintained, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation and comfort. The staff truly shines--warm, courteous, professional, and always willing to help. You feel genuinely welcomed from the moment you arrive. The food throughout the resort is absolutely delicious, with wonderful dining options to enjoy during your stay. While we do miss their fabulous breakfast buffet, we understand it's offered during the busier summer months--and it's certainly something to look forward to on a future visit. Whether you're planning a cozy winter escape or a vibrant summer getaway, don't think twice. Crystal Springs Resort delivers beauty, relaxation, exceptional service, and memorable experiences all year round.

I usually do not stay in B&B's and normally will stay in hotels with a rating of 4 or 5 stars. With that said , please allow me to say that I was completely and thoroughly pleased with Alpine Haus ! Anil (the owner) was my host for an overnight stay and I can not say enough about the facilities , the cleanliness, the peace and quiet I experienced, The parking could not be more convenient, the beautiful , serene views over the mountains while relaxing on the gorgeous deck are amazing. Anil made me feel like , if not better than family! He truly made his home my home! And ... the breakfast , oh my , I can not say enough about the breakfast that Anil prepared for me at the time of my choosing. Plenty of food , quality was superior , all fresh and delicious. In fact, I was so pleased with Alpine Haus that I made a reservation for another trip coming up soon. I look forward to another wonderful stay at Alpine Haus and seeing Anil again. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that I have a home away from home when I am in New Jersey. If you are visiting and staying in anywhere near Vernon, New Jersey, I HIGHLY recommend staying at Alpine Haus . I assure you will not be disappointed ! Sincerely, Ken R.

The…read moreproperty is managed by The Appalachian Condo Owners Association and each unit is owned by individuals / not a hotel.) My family stayed at The Appalachian for a quick visit over Father's Day weekend. Located at Mountain Creek, it's surrounded by activities like mountain biking, trails, slopes, and a water park. We were drawn to the area for the NJ Beer and Food Festival held at Crystal Springs Resort. Initially, we aimed for a room at CSR, but at over $620 per night, it was too costly. So, I searched on Expedia and found a studio condo listed at half the price. The listing was titled "Serenity Now" - Sunsets Mtn Creek Ski Resort Remodeled Fireplace WIFI. We ended up in Appa unit #361, hosted by Gerry, who was very communicative via email and responsive via text. We were pleased with the studio's condition. It featured a fully stocked kitchenette and a bathroom with limited toiletries. A parking pass for the underground garage was included, which was convenient. The only downside was that my allergies flared up during our stay. Initially, I suspected the AC filter, but upon inspecting further, I found pet hair on the blanket underneath the comforter, suggesting someone had violated the no-pets policy before our arrival. Despite this, it was an overall pleasant stay. Although my kids didn't use the pool on-site, it looked inviting. I would consider visiting again and booking Gerry's unit. Compared to some negative reviews, it appears Gerry maintains his unit better than other condo owners.

I visited this beautiful New Jersey resort for a family wedding the weekend of Oct 24th and it's…read moreeasy to see why it's a popular destination. The property is stunning and expansive, with amazing fall views. Our rooms were comfortable with lovely balconies, and the bathrooms were nice, though more counter space would help. As a hospitality professional, I noticed both positives and a few areas for improvement. Because the resort is so large, room locations matter, guests with mobility concerns should be placed closer to elevators. In addition, giving a couple connecting rooms with their parents is a lack of common sense. We were also given the wrong directions to the wedding, causing us to miss the ceremony, which was very disappointing. Overall, the resort is grand, well-kept, full of things to do, and staffed by friendly people. With a bit more attention to detail, it could easily become an outstanding destination.

Not worth at ALL what I paid, I feel completely ripped off…read more Contacting the front desk is near impossible. In room phones are useless. Called multiple times to get shower gel and shampoo refilled and it took all day. Had to skip dinner at their restaurant because my hair was too oily from an earlier treatment and I couldn't wash it out. Sounds petty except when you realize you're paying six hundred a night! Lots of little inconveniences. Main floor before rooms smelled like chlorine from pool. Breakfast feels hectic. Have to check in with hostess to be seated. If you can find her. Most key staff are overwhelmed and apathetic. Normally I don't care about pealing paint on walls or ceiling but thought I'd mention that too. Loud noises came through from floor above. Very loud mini fridge. Didn't sleep so great first night. Overpriced everything!! I felt I paid twice as much for everything during my stay. I didn't think the spa was worth it. Had to walk downstairs to resolve an issue at the salon/spa and then wait back in line for twenty minutes at front desk to check out. No available luggage racks so had to lug all my $&@# from the room to my car in the freezing cold to cap off my stay. Though I can sympathize with the gargantuan duties the front desk has to handle nonstop, the minuscule discount they gave me was appalling. I was so livid, angry and drained after such a disappointing second day. From figuring out seating in an overly crowded breakfast buffet, then a massage that was nowhere near worth the price, to being locked out of my room before checkout just as I was transporting my bags. At this point I had had enough with being surrounded by sniffling, coughing, crying kids. I'm surprised I didn't break down in tears myself after they asked how I'd be paying. I almost wish I had two thousand dollars in pennies to dump on the floor in front of them! (Regards to Barbara, Rachel and the two waiters from breakfast who gave their all and a couple others.) There WERE staff that cared. But also staff like the housekeeping manager that can &*@$-off for lying to my face. It was not worth what I paid. To the owners, I'd like to ask, what tf? If someone has the guts from your team to contact me, feel free. I'll be polite. Maybe we can hash things out. Maybe it was a series of badly timed everything? I truly wanted to like this place. On a positive note, I did enjoy my balcony view.

Check out Plattekill, Belleayre, Jiminy Peak, Butternut, Thunder Ridge in the area instead for more family friendly fun easy going experience. I've never been to a ski place with so many slopes filled with people stopped in place or falling all around! There seemed to be so many people skiing there who never had lessons but are still on the blue slopes. The left side of the mountain is filled with snowboarders. I was in super busy lift line with probably 95% snowboarders - mostly young young guys. First time I went there I ended up in a terrain park that had not much space on either side of the jumps. I was terrified one of the teenagers or 20 some things would go way too fast and jump on me or my kids! So many snowboarders on the mountain also means a lot of snow being pushed around the slopes so more mogul type on every slope lol. I find it a very scary crowded place for families esp with small children learning. The main lodge is far too crowded on the weekend. Think Rockefeller Plaza during the holidays. There's another lodge where you can eat also, it's at the bottom of the left side of the mountain where the terrain parks are. The one star is for the sauerkraut hotdog which was pretty good. Make sure to book the $20 parking at the front online - it's worth it! We never did it, fully booked so ended up walking crazy far with our ski gear ski boots on. We don't mind walking like that normally at most resorts, but this one is a big no. I felt done before starting skiing. For absolute beginner lessons, smallest children, this place might be OK. And there's a place to sit outside if it's not too cold out that overlooks the learning area where you can get drinks and sometimes there's a DJ. The staff at the lift chairs were excellent though. They seemed to be watching carefully and helping more than other area resorts!
