My car stopped providing any power and the check engine light came on, luckily it was able to limp onto the boat and to Autoeuropa. My friends and family trusted this place. I was terrified because online it said the EPC light had a chance of being a death sentence and that the dealers often couldn't fix it (said people with similar symptoms) some reviews mentioned a class action lawsuit since sometimes there is no fix. 3 days later and with 1 reasonably priced payment my car is back on the road purring as she switches gears. Ok, I'm finally getting around to writing this review after about 6 months - which I suppose is…read moregood in that I've gotten a lot of time to see whether the work holds up. Short answer is: yes, the work at Cape Cod Customs holds up, and it holds up well! Cape Cod Customs installed a 4.5in suspension/lift kit on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ Country. Greg was very helpful from the start and was kind enough to talk to give me his honest opinion on the lift kit I had purchased, which was not from a top quality manufacturer and had a "hit or miss" reputation. Despite this, Greg understood when I told him I was willing to take the risk and that the lift kit was the only one available in my price range. As someone who owns a small business, I always appreciate when someone can cut to the quick and give me the honest info. Greg is definitely that kind of guy - he cares about the work his shop does and isn't just looking for a quick payday - and in my 37 years I've only run into a handful of people like that in the auto industry. Greg installed the lift kit on my Jeep and despite the issues that sometimes come with the brand I chose, so far everything has run phenomenally. Not a single issue with the suspension system, and the Jeep rides great on regular roads and the highway - and surprisingly I can still get 85+ mph out of it, even with 33in tires and 186,000 miles. I drove all the way out from Boston to have Cape Cod Customs work on my car and I couldn't be happier that I did - and for any major work in the future, I know where I'm going! As a business owner, I also know that some customers just won't be happy unless you give them the work for free and I have a hard time understanding how my experience, and the experience of so many other reviewers here, could be so vastly different from the one particularly negative review on here. I urge everyone to look at CCC's whole body of work and make a decision based on that! As someone who knows a thing or two about cars - those look like random photos of rusty cars. If a recent paint job had been done to those vehicles, you'd be able to see "witness marks" - i.e. evidence of the work performed. For example, it takes years for that amount of rust to accumulate - even with our harsh winters. If that car had been painted, that rust would have been sanded off first. If they painted over the rust, you'd be able to see deformations in the paint next to the areas where it's peeled off. It's very difficult to get vehicle paint looking flat, and it would be impossible for the remaining paint to look like that if they just painted over rust. Just my informed opinion, but it looks like someones telling stories! (also, just so everyone knows - the metal around the front fender was left on by me so don't fault CCC for my laziness in not removing the fender flare mounting yet!)

I REALLY wanted to give Peter and his business a very good review. He has worked on our car several…read moretimes in the last couple of years, and has usually been fairly quick to respond and completed the work satisfactorily. He has not ALWAYS come on the day he agreed to come, but I can say that about many island contractors and usually am pretty flexible. He has completed brake work, replaced a tire, put a "kill switch" on our battery for when we leave the island, replaced a battery, and an alternator. He has shown admirable skills on all of these repairs, and has charged a fair price (at least by Vineyard standards). This past month, however, he has ruined our "relationship." As an independent contractor, he has always asked for 1/2 up front and then 1/2 upon completion. I know, I know...perhaps that is my own fault for accepting those terms...but he has always completed the work and I felt OK with the situation. Recently I asked him to check out an "ABS" warning light on my car and replace another tire; after an initial assessment and quote, I paid him the requisite half. He has since disappeared--he does not answer his phone or respond to texts. It has been weeks since his last communication with me--and of course he still has my money--several hundred dollars. At this point, I feel that he has stolen my money and will never hear from him again. I know that I should not take it personally, but it does hurt to know that I have always been exceptionally quick to pay Peter and always kind to him when we talk. I have even asked if needed water/coffee, etc while working. Unfortunately, I need to let the world know--BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER!

I have used Kelsey twice. They require you to sign for…read morepaying a higher price than what INSURANCE WILL pay or they will not do business with you. The first time I signed it was an accident I had nothing todo with but for the bad decisions of two other drivers the left side of my car was severely damaged. Kelsey seemed to have done a great job but the left side door leaks whenever there is a severe driving rain. water comes in everywhere. this door had to be replaced because of the damage. Their work was timely and was grateful for the use of their rental but because I signed their waiver insurance did not cover the cost of an accident I was not involved with. My car was parked off road in a parking area in the front of my house. I had to come up with almost a thousand dollars out of pocket. The leak in the drivers side door was not apparent until the recent wind driven rain storms. I returned to Kelsey for a second repair of the back of my car1. They had to remove and replace my back up camera. The night I picked my car up the radio and navigational equipment did not work properly ie was not working. I could not set anything from my main screen. When I brought this to their attention they initially refused to do anything about it, saying the system was old. I had never experienced a problem before this repair. The outback Subaru has an excellent system for radio navigational systems like blue tooth. I was told to take it to another shop for evaluation which I did. i also spoke with my insurance company about this problem. My Mechanic was also unable to fix the problem but got the radio working for me. in the meantime Kelsey change their tune and said they had found a radio and would replace it. They would be using more of my insurance money for this. I did not want my insurance company to get hit for a problem they created when doing repair to my Subaru . I am an elderly retired RN on a fixed income. The long and the short I feel dissatisfied with my experience with Kelsey. I feel they have caused my car to be devalued by a leaking door that was replaced and ruining my radio navigation equipment. i can't help to think this is because I am an elderly person without the benefit of a spouse to stand with me over a consumer problem. I would be reluctant to use Kelsey in the future.
