The frame of my 97 TJ was repaired/rebuilt by Gregg. The rot is back only after under 5 years. He used rustoleum paint and never treated the frame before painting. The new fenders he painted and installed have rot holes already, maybe three years ago installed. Stay away from this shop, unless it's under new ownership. The worst workmanship I've ever seen. When you are desperate and you need your ride fixed, his price will be enticing. The work and quality is not. read more

Ok, I'm finally getting around to writing this review after about 6 months - which I suppose is good in that I've gotten a lot of time to see whether the work holds up. Short answer is: yes, the work at Cape Cod Customs holds up, and it holds up well! Cape Cod Customs installed a 4.5in suspension/lift kit on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ Country. Greg was very helpful from the start and was kind enough to talk to give me his honest opinion on the lift kit I had purchased, which was not from a top quality manufacturer and had a "hit or miss" reputation. Despite this, Greg understood when I told him I was willing to take the risk and that the lift kit was the only one available in my price range. As someone who owns a small business, I always appreciate when someone can cut to the quick and give me the honest info. Greg is definitely that kind of guy - he cares about the work his shop does and isn't just looking for a quick payday - and in my 37 years I've only run into a handful of people like that in the auto industry. Greg installed the lift kit on my Jeep and despite the issues that sometimes come with the brand I chose, so far everything has run phenomenally. Not a single issue with the suspension system, and the Jeep rides great on regular roads and the highway - and surprisingly I can still get 85+ mph out of it, even with 33in tires and 186,000 miles. I drove all the way out from Boston to have Cape Cod Customs work on my car and I couldn't be happier that I did - and for any major work in the future, I know where I'm going! As a business owner, I also know that some customers just won't be happy unless you give them the work for free and I have a hard time understanding how my experience, and the experience of so many other reviewers here, could be so vastly different from the one particularly negative review on here. I urge everyone to look at CCC's whole body of work and make a decision based on that! As someone who knows a thing or two about cars - those look like random photos of rusty cars. If a recent paint job had been done to those vehicles, you'd be able to see "witness marks" - i.e. evidence of the work performed. For example, it takes years for that amount of rust to accumulate - even with our harsh winters. If that car had been painted, that rust would have been sanded off first. If they painted over the rust, you'd be able to see deformations in the paint next to the areas where it's peeled off. It's very difficult to get vehicle paint looking flat, and it would be impossible for the remaining paint to look like that if they just painted over rust. Just my informed opinion, but it looks like someones telling stories! (also, just so everyone knows - the metal around the front fender was left on by me so don't fault CCC for my laziness in not removing the fender flare mounting yet!) read more

Well I thought they were different. First of all my mom went to drop off my car an they open @9am but my mom had to call him cuz it was 930am an they were not open yet. So he looked at my car an told my mom "HE WOULD CALL ME TO LET KNOW WHAT IS GOING WITH MY CAR" HE also took vin numba so he could order the part. Jason Oliver I can strongly recommend Cape Cod Customs work based on what they did for my Civic and Wrangler. They've done my oil changes, brakes, window tinting, performance upgrades, engine tuning, tire mounting/balancing, backup camera install, audio upgrades, on and on. I like how we started by talking through a plan and then I could upgrade at my pace. Along the way the owner Greg showed me how poorly previous shops wired and installed things in my Jeep (it's scary what some shops do and assume the customer will never see). We found this place surprisingly open and willing to knock out a day's worth of work at a reasonable price late on Saturday to early Sunday. Customers, please be careful with this company. We sent a Jeep over for an overhaul last summer. We were very pleased with the job they did, however, due to an internal accounting mishap, they charged over $5,000.00 worth of parts from a different job to our credit card. When we brought the mistake to their attention, they sent us a check to cover it and the check bounced. We now have to spend the time and money to go after them for the funds. I recently took my 1986 Jeep CJ7 to Greg after a Jeep dealer in Falmouth had botched a series of repairs that they charged me thousands of $ for. The vehicle was overheating badly, there was a griding noise from the rear end that the dealer told me required a rear end re build and the brakes were working poorly despite the dealer's reassurance that they were just fine. Greg quickly identified all of the issues including the fact that the dealer had installed the wrong water pump and a leaky radiator. The rear end was fine but the rear brakes required work and the master cylinder needed to be replaced. He also identified a number of smaller items many of which he repaired for free or for very minimal charges. After 5 days with Greg it's like a new Jeep. Runs cool as an icebox. Grinding noise gone, power brakes work great and the handling is much improved. And the best part was that Gregs rates were extremely reasonable. This guy is an outstanding mechanic. He really knows what he's doing--hes a true perfectionist. He's fair and he actually cares about fixing things the right way. From now on I'm taking both of our Jeeps here for all service. read more
