Selection was great, unfortunately the checking out was not. I am so glad I watched what they were ringing up. Bought a sale item that said $2 and they charged me $4.99, the head cashier came to fix it, and didn't know how to do the math, he took off, $2 so still paid more than sticker price. Then the produce, the apples I bought were $1.99 a pound, the cashier kept ringing up the wrong ones, at $3.99, did this FOUR times. There were more issues with it, but these were the more prominent ones. The people behind me were getting annoyed that I kept having him fix their issues. We got our sons birthday cake from the Hy-Vee bakery and loved it! I did the cake topper decor but they did a wonderful job with the frosting. My only complaint was the box they put the cake in. I'd never visited this HyVee previously, but I managed to score a vaccine appointment at their pharmacy. I visited twice and both times I couldn't resist walking around. Wow. HyVee really is a notch above the rest. There's SO MUCH HERE. Any kind of food or treat you could want is here and also FRESH if you want it for say lunch or something. After I got my vaccine I knew I needed to try their sushi. This whole container (20 pieces) was $10. TEN DOLLARS. Was this the greatest sushi I've ever had? No but it was still damn good. And for $10, you cannot beat it. I'd love to try their bakery next time. read more

We truly enjoy our weekly shopping at Hyvee! The bakery is a visual delight! They did a wonderful with my daughter's wedding cake and cupcakes. We used to stop by just to get treats, but have now switched to our full weekly shopping at your store. The service is great and everyone is so friendly. I downloaded the Hy-Vee app as recommended by a Hy-Vee employee. I used it to place a prescription refill. I was able to select a date and time to pick up my order. The order was placed on Saturday, for a Monday pickup. I arrived at the designated time and was told that they could/would not fill the prescription. There was NO COMMUNICATION from Hy-Vee that they couldn't/wouldn't do what they said they would. So I wasted a lot of time and gas on something that could have been avoided with a simple email or phone call. This pharmacy has also given me other people's prescriptions in the past, as well as charged me for items that have a zero copay. If you have any other options to use other than this place, it would have to be a better choice and experience in my opinion. read more

I made a run out to this store, 20 minutes away from me, because it is the only store in the area that stocks A2 milk. For twenty years I avoided milk because even lactose-free milk gave me unhappy tummy troubles. I heard about A2 milk, which is from cows that only produce the A2 and not the A1 protein. I discovered it in FL last month and was in milk-and-PBJ heaven for a week. I searched for it in the Twin Cities and found it here. Anywaaaayyyy... enough about my intestines. I don't know why, but I always thought of Hy-Vee as a low-rent grocery store so I had no idea what to expect. I was floored. This store is like Byerly's plus Kowalski's on steroids. It is gorgeous and is true one-stop shopping. There is a full pharmacy, an urgent care, Starbuck's, a restaurant (Market Place Grill), food court, wines & spirits shop, amazing meat and produce sections, huge international and imported food sections, plus clothes, toiletries, beauty products, and more; almost like a Super Target with a better grocery selection. I rewrote my dinner plans on the spot as I stood mesmerized by the meat case. I'm posting a photo of something called "Tailgate Ribeyes," two-inch thick ribeyes with the Frenched bone standing a foot high. I ended up with not only the milk I came for but a full rack of meaty pork loin ribs, a ripe pineapple, peaches, cilantro, and grill-ready Mexican street corn, all for $30. Dinner will be amazing. If that's not enough, there is also a Hy-Vee gas station, Starbuck's shop, and car wash on the grounds. Yeah, I'll be back, and not just for the milk. read more

I love Hyvee. There is such a variety. Especially their fresh bagels and cream cheese. They will slice the bagels. I love the fruit section. It is so large and such a variety. Then there is all the stuff I haven't taken time to shop for. They have dishes clothes Knick knacks health and beauty. It's a cool store, more of a destination than a quick run through for groceries. I have my 3 daughters together at home once in a while. They travel so much with their work so I get excited when I have all 3 daughters (1 son lives 2000 miles away!) here at home. Having said that, I ordered their fav desert - fruit tarts from Hy-Vee. They are the best. The last few times I have places my order I did not receive a call to pick k them up. Because I had not paid for them in advance, I forgot about it Ans continued my home entertaining! This past week i had all 3 daughters visit. I ordered again. This time I called the GM Kyle. Ran my scenario of the last 2 mishaps with him, and what happened next was extraordinary. Kyle not only personally oversaw my order, but picked up the entire bill. I had company so I adjusted my order to 5 tarts figuring I'd pay for the adjusted. But Kyle took care of it all. You want to know what else...? They were jumbo fruit tarts! Enough to feed an army! Well... not quiet! Nonetheless, the exceptional customer service seen here at HyVee goes unmatched. I have yet to see this kind of customer service in other places. Kyle, you won this family over! Good grocery store. Avoid their "Hy-Chi" prepared Chinese food offering at all costs. Standard steamed white rice made slightly brown with soy sauce, while still tasteless, and with the tiniest bits of scrambled egg hidden inside, and nothing else, is NOT "fried rice." Unless you're at HyVee. All but one meat entree option is breaded - and by breaded I mean four parts breading to one part meat. Almost substanceless. Also, never have I been so close to saying No Thanks, Nevermind after the dish had been prepared, considering it was a generous pile of that tasteless uninteresting rice, and literally the smallest amount possible of entree that could still be classified as a "scoop." Felt instantly cheated. Egg rolls should have some crisp. Some crunch. Theirs have never been in the same room as where those words have ever even been spoken. What a phenomenal waste of money. Literally looked around for supplemental food options on the way out, just for serving amount reasons, despite it being a "two-entree meal." Never again. read more

Having been familiar with Hy-Vee stores in Rochester (all 5 star), I expected a similar experience in the Shakopee store today. Nope. Aside from the nice guy at the front door offering samples of peaches, my entire experience was 1 Star. I asked for a tiny sample of hot & sour​ soup to test how hot it is. An employee had all she could do to bother with my request. And the soup was bland. Went on to salads and asked for tiny sample to taste the dressing. The employee was a bit pokey and couldn't find a small container for the sample in the front or back. I left and went on,finding similar experiences. I bought .68# of salt water taffy, only to discover it to be hard as a rock. I asked 3 employees easy questions about where to find items. One simply pointed to another area of the store. I'm a very loyal Hy-Vee customer; born and raised in South Dakota. So I was over the moon when this Hyvee opened close to my home in Shakopee. The fuel saver program is wonderful, if you buy the right things and research. I don't take enough time for researching, so I pay about $300 in groceries each trip and maybe get 3-4 cents off gas. For Sunday night supper, my boyfriend and I go here for the "fast food" stores. He'll get chinese and I go to the Mexican food dept for the burrito bowls. The burrito bowls are cheaper than Chipotle and have the same ingredients. I did go there one week and the food was cold, but every other time has been great (4-5 times.) My boyfriend LOVES their Chinese, never has a complaint. The Grocery delivery is where I have my only complaint.. This concept is great, whether you want groceries delivered or ready for pickup. Every single time I try this out, they list that a handful of my items are out of stock and they don't charge me for the food. So, I go inside before picking up the groceries so I can find a substitute and EVERY TIME I find the exact item they said was out of stock. I don't use this service any more... it's happened too often. I have never encountered a rude employee. Everyone that works here is nice and have a "helpful smile in every aisle" ;) read more

It's a gamble any time I get meat from Hyvee. If I'm lucky enough to get a date (many times there are none to be found), it could be tomorrow or a week from now that I need to eat it. Several times I've gotten bacon or other meats from the counter only to find out that it's already turned. The "new grocery store" hype has worn off, and every alternative in town has offered more consistency. This store is fraught with problems. Time after time I have gone into this store to find the same fraud occurring. Hy-Vee will raise the price of a product then place an ON SALE YOU SAVE 50 cents tag on the item to make you think they've place the item on sale when they've actually raised the price. Additionally, they mislabel their produce section, placing parsley in the cilantro slot and vice versa. I've see it over and over. I tried to point this out to someone wearing a produce manager name tag, and was told CUSTOMERS keep moving the tags!!!!! I even had to call a manager over to the donut counter because I saw a young man empty the trash can wearing gloves and then start bagging up donuts for a customer WITHOUT CHANGING THE GLOVES!!!! I walked over and told him to throw that bag away, explained to the lady he was serving what happened and made him change his gloves and start over with new product. The woman said thank you to me, then decided to leave rather than buy the donuts she specifically came for. The ONLY reasons to go to this location is Mike in the seafood department who has helped me choose the right seafood for dinner MULTIPLE times, always with a smile and the deli and meat counter folks who will go out of their way to enhance your experience. Love almost everything except these 2 consistently unimpressive items: 1) the paper grocery bags are awful. The first couple of visits, I though oh, I just got some bad ones or maybe there was too much in them. But the handle break off these bags even with minimal weight. So frustrating that it happens EVERY visit. Just buy better quality bags. 2) although the bakery is beautiful, for our regular "Saturday morning donut" needs, I'm always to surprised that I can't just get some raised chocolate iced rings or sugar donuts. I have to go to cub to get that because there are RARELY "regular" donuts at HyVee and I don't want to buy a dozen fancy donuts with special toppings when it's just for my kids' sleepovers. read more

So when this location opened up in 2017/18, it was really impressive...for like six months and then the honeymoon phase was over. Their staff was friendly and helpful. The food quality was satisfactory. The Market Grille was amazing! But about mid 2018 thru 2019 (I stopped going after that), the staff became unhelpful and rude. The Market Grille couldn't get an order right to save their life and the food quality went downhill (moldy, expired items, always out of stock, etc.). Now I see there is a Wahlburgers there and I am so disappointed to see the Market Grille gone -- was the only decent thing there. read more

Wow. Just Wow. I had Chinese food and BBQ ribs here on back2back nights and can not believe how tasty both meals were for the little money spent. For 5 bucks I got a big serving of generals chicken, rice, and a crab wonton. For 10 bucks I got 4 meaty ribs, mac n cheese, ANY choice of a side from the deli (I chose ptotato salad) and a muffin...Ive had their cupcakes and cookies as well. Im a big guy who works out a lot and can tell immediately if its crap food because Im still hungry (I could eat 10 double stacks in a sitting) and this is the real deal...real meat...prepared with real veggies and not deep fried either. As for the store I think I was greeted, smiled at, or talked to by about 10 different employees and they were all awesome from 16-60; awesome staff! I honestly feel bad for local restaurants because this place is nuts. Others better step up their game. The store front is a bit small for the foot traffic. Have ZERO complaints though. I have always loved visiting the Shakopee HyVee. It's so bright, clean, well organized, and you have the best bakery, produce, and meats in town. Tonight I walked into your store and saw a sign about getting 50 cents off of gas with a $50 purchase. I went to the service desk to ask about it, and the young, blonde man there asked me if there was a QR code. I said I didn't think so. He asked me again. So, I went over to the sign and took a picture. There's no QR code. I showed him the picture and started explaining, and he was obviously looking at something else, not even paying attention to me. I get this sometimes happens when someone is distracted, but this whole interaction was the most blatant example of indifference I've experienced in quite a while. Was I rude? No. Was he rude? Yes -- 100 out of 100 people would say he was rude. I'm really unsure what I did to him to deserve this, or whether he is like this to everyone. Someone needs to take this young man aside and teach him about manners. So many of your employees are kind and helpful, and to put someone like this in customer service is doing your store a dis-service. I won't be visiting again anytime soon, and I'll be shopping your competitors. And, I live in Shakopee, not San Fran. I've only ever been there twice! read more

You liquor policy is unfair. I was told I couldn't purchase a 4 pack of beer bc I walked into the store with my partner and he purchased the same beer. Apparently this Hy-Vee has a limit of one 4 pack per HOUSEHOLD. What is your criteria for a "HOUSEHOULD"?? That if people walk in together that they must be in the same household? What if the person I walked into the store with wasn't related to me and lived in another state? What if it was just a friend? I mean, are you going to ask everyone that walks into your liquor store about their relationships to limit beer to each "household"? I went to pick up a door dash grocery delivery and arrived at the pick up at 3:15 with the pick up time being 3:18. I was told that they were packaging up one more Item and that it would be ready. I waited over an hour to get the groceries and delivery them to the customer. I could have shopped and got all the items in half the time, my self. I love the HyVee pharmacy in Shakopee on Adams St! I've had so many problems with CVS and Walgreens lately that my doctor recommended moving my prescriptions over to HyVee pharmacy. She said she rarely has problems with them. I agree with her! Dr. Kevin has helped me so much when I have questions or concerns. He goes the extra mile to make sure I receive the best price on my prescriptions. One of my prescriptions does not have a generic available. Dr. Kevin called to get me set up on a rebate program and the line was busy. He asked if I'd be able to pick up my prescription the next day after he got ahold of them. I said "sure" and thought great, now I'm going to have to call tomorrow to remind him like I've had to do with CVS and Walgreens. Nope! Dr. Kevin called me by 9am the next day to say he got me signed up and I'd save $100 on my prescription! I was so impressed that he followed up so quickly! I highly recommend the HyVee pharmacy in Shakopee! Dr. Kevin and the rest of the pharmacy staff are wonderful and truly care that you receive your prescriptions on time! Store slowly loosing "non-gmo" "gluten free" and "natural" items. Becomes more like Cub. Shakopee HyVee gas station having worst car was. You cant get receipt when using self service stations (they always out of paper and there is no way to kniw it till you pay) my car washes are refundable by company I work with, but stuff (including manager) doesnt know how to recover my receipt. Also there is bacteria in car wash water tank. They reusing water and that water so stinky!!! Your car will stink so bad in and out! Its being like that over a year now, no body cares. Stay a way! Hyvee, the overpriced grocery chain from Iowa pushing itself off as an upscale grocery retailer,with it's big bakery, clinic and gas station. Until you get to the meat department. Same old big selection of low scale CAFO farmed meats.. And a very limited selection of organic grass fed, cage free meats. The organic, grass fed, cage free meat they sell has been inconsistant, limited, generic,labelled and untrustworthy with no idea where the meat is coming from. Yeah that's right HYVee, we didn't need another WaLmart. Just simply asking meat and management if they'd carry bacon from vegetarian fed humanely raised hog farmers was like an abomination. "How dare you even suggest we open our shelf space for meats from the likes of traditional farmers". Be Gone". I was told to call the main office Run-around. Once again, anyone living in this area that wants meat raised from responsible humane farmers will have to continue driving way out of their way to get that, even though there's 3 big grocers all within 10 miles of each other. C' mon. I mean, was hyvee the only store on the ballet? No other considerations? Trader Joes? Whole Foods?? It couldn't have been about money cuz hyvee ain't cheap. Just look at that cosmetic/hair/clothing section in the middle of the store where no item has a price tag on it. Nothin cheap or economic when the cashier tells you about the 35 dollar bottle of shampoo that caused your bill to jack up. Hey Scott County with all your clean water conservation articles you must not have done your research homework. FYI: Iowa is the biggest polluter of the Mississippi River right now. From all the CAFO farm poop run off. And don't forget the antibiotics running right into the Mississippi river with the poo too. That's right 80% plus of all antibiotics made are sold into the CAFO farming industry to be injected in animals. Why? Because it's not normal (rather insane) to cram a bunch of animals together under one roof never seeing the sun. Passing those antibiotics into the Mississippi River and then to you the consumer. You sold out Scott County, hyvee's just another irresponsible grocer catering to big ag/big pharma not giving a ripp about the envirnment, animal welfare and the health of humans. I know what the price of good quality organic humane family raised meat costs and where it comes from. And currently, it's not much more, almost equal, and many times cheaper than what Hyvee charges for their generic labeled, unknown origin, farm doe tainted meat. Not only does Hyvee have a bad meat department, I'd stay clear of any grocer that has a clinic attached to it. This is a good store, and I do all my grocery shopping here but their bagging sucks. For about 2 months in a row their crappy baggers have ruined my fruit, bread and eggs and other fragile products. They are also rude when you ask them to be more careful while bagging. This is unacceptable considering I'm paying for the food they are destroying. It's gotten to a point that I'll go straight to customer service after paying and ask them to replace whe products destroyed by the baggers. Managment is really great about it an are understanding but it seems nothing is being dont to stop the bad bagging. I may try a different store for a bit. I have been shopping the Shakopee Hy-Vee since it opened the doors. The employees who stock the shelves and the cashiers/baggers are terrific! The Market Grill has incredible food and employees! Management on the other hand could do MUCH MUCH better! They never have an answer, they always blame it on corporate policies. They never stock their shelves adequate when it comes to ad items, for instance this week the ad included 5 6 pack bottles of Canada Dry Sparking Water for $10. They had 1 6 pack bottles in the store! This happens so often with their Coke and Pepsi products too, it's happened with dairy ad items, so on and so on. I don't understand if they are advertising a product, why not stock it sufficiently? read more

We are planning a birthday dinner for tomorrow night. I call this afternoon to see if they had any prime rib, which the woman in the meat market said yes they did. I asked how late the meat market was open and she said 10:00 PM. I went there about 8:45 and she said they only had bone-in, which was fine. So I asked her to cut 7 lbs. but she said it was too late to cut. I looked at the clock and said "it's 8:45, and I called and was told you were open until 10:00" she said yeah but its too late to cut a piece. So what you're saying is you are too lazy to cut a piece of meat? It's not like the time was 9:50. Few things make me upset but poor customer service is one thing that sends me over the edge, especially considering the timing and calling ahead. It's not convenient for me to go there so now I have no reason to make the trip there and I hope this reaches many people and that woman is fired. I pre ordered a precooked thanksgiving meal. Supposed to be all boxed up ready to be picked up at your specific pick up time. I called twice to make sure order was ready before driving a half hour to pick it up. The answer after insane long wait time was yes. I arrived to find that it was not ready at all. It was half boxed up, they tried to give it to me with my receipt and send me on my way. I opened the box and realized I had no pies and not the correct amount of buns. They ran out of pies I already paid for and never put mine in my box so I asked them to comp me out a cheesecake instead. They did, but what a bummer to not have any pie that I preordered and paid for. I asked if there was re heating directions inside the box before I left. They were uncertain so they gave me one from behind the counter. This process should've been quick easy and painless. I love the thought of pre ordering and pre paying online choosing what u want and choosing your pick up time. Arriving, pick up your large box full of your order, gone through the order with in person to show all your items are there and being sent on my way with instructions in box. This was not how things went, maybe I'll try a different location next time. read more
