I've mostly dealt with the pharmacy at this location and the employees there are always so friendly and helpful. They always explain insurance issues with me and help me find the best way to get what I need at an affordable price. They're very punctual, I never wait more than a minute at the window. And if I call they're just as helpful over the phone. Highly recommend working with them for prescriptions. Otherwise, the store seems clean and well taken care of. The deli department is still having major issues with a good majority of their workers including the department manager not keeping her help being professional towards each other as well as towards customers when the customers are around. The ambiance of the area is very unpleasant. It seems to be very hostile and I don't want to go there to get any food if it is going to be a hostile environment. I would go to other departments just to pick up ingredients to make the salads myself instead of getting it pre-made. I've been shopping at Shakopee Cub for years and have always had a good experience. Today was especially worth mentioning. I stopped by to pickup flowers for the birth of my granddaughter. I was looking for pink carnations, but they were out of stock. When I asked if they had any in back, the answer was Yes. He brought out a box of fresh carnations in a variety of colors. When I told him I was heading straight to the hospital, he trimmed the flowers, put them in a vase I picked out, packaged the bouquet in a nice box with purple tissue paper, and kept them warm by placing them in a large plastic bag. Solid location. People love the bakery, if you're looking for (fresh) baked goods, come early because they go quickly. Not that busy of a location, I've visited several times at different times and haven't experienced a peak time. Although it doesn't get busy here, they seem to struggle with staffing. I spent majority of my time in line to checkout. I was impressed with the candle section I found, solid candles at a decent price. Cub Foods has pretty much the monopoly on American groceries in the town of Shakopee, MN, but it does a great job of offering a variety of foods for every family. (God this sounds like a commercial but I promise it isn't!) First of all, the place is massive. It feels like a cross between a supermarket and a warehouse. They have everything from Mexican groceries, gourmet food, bulk/organic foods and Velveeta. My cooking gets pretty adventuresome for this part of town, but I must say Cub Foods has pretty much everything you need. (Tip: If you can't get the hard-core Asian groceries, try the Thai/Vietnamese grocery in the strip mall just north of Cubs). read more

I ordered delivery recently, gave a $5 tip and paid the delivery fee. Driver went to wrong house, neighbors fixed mistake for us not the driver. Groceries were left at the wrong house. At least 1 item was missing, I double checked and definitely paid for it. Another item was also the wrong item. I went down to Cub Foods tonight around 1 a.m. The entire dairy aisle was roped off and there were no associates around to help me. I took it upon myself to enter the aisle with my cart to grab some eggs and sour cream. I was approached by an employee at the end of the aisle who asked me what I thought I was doing? I told him I was grabbing some groceries. He asked me if I knew how to read. Long story short ten minutes later I was being kicked out of the grocery store by the Shakopee Police Department. I'm being charged with destruction of property for the marks that my cart left on the wet floor. Seriously. Go somewhere where they appreciate your business. UPDATE Got in contact with cub foods manager Paul. He was very polite and professional. He assured me the proper actions were being taken and I wasn't being charged with destruction of property. Great grocery store. The meat selection is sometimes better than dedicated butchers. They seem to run out of hot peppers and some of the more exotic produce, but the fact that they have some of the exotic items at all in Shakopee is a blessing. read more

The organic section always has expired items. The restrooms are always disgusting and not properly cleaned... I've even seen feces on the walls. I just moved to Shakopee and I love this Cub. It's the best Cub I've been to. The employees there are SO helpful and nice. The clerks at the registers are always pulling out coupons and applying them to my purchase and I don't even ask. If there's a "buy 1 get 1 free" they tell me to go grab one or they can call someone to get one for me. I've been to many other Cubs locally and none of these Cubs do that EVER. I've saved $40 in a transaction before from their service and I have to say it's really, really nice! Oh in regards to the produce from another reviewer, I actually felt like the produce was better here too. But maybe that's bc the produce is better this year in general than it was last year. I look very carefully at the bags of potatoes, onions and the fruit before I buy it. But I do end up with a lot of the fruit being moldy. Same for potatoes and onions. I had a new prescription transferred to Cub Pharmacy on Tuesday January 31 (something I needed to get started on as soon as possible to see if it works for me) & I hadn't received a call to be notified that it was in. Knowing it may take up to 2 days for a call, I waited. 2 more days passed & still nothing so I called them & apparently it was sent the day it was transferred, but I didn't know about it until 4 days later. I just moved to this area and I typically shop at Aldi, but of course cub is cheaper. I also like that the bank I use is in the store. I have had the worst luck with associates and the lady who works customer service. UGH. The coupons are kind of confusing and are not all in one book which is annoying. I tried to get a cub card this morning online, but it wasn't working so I went to the store. The cashier who had no one in her line was talking to another associate for almost four min about their personal life. Finally, she I told her i want a cub card ( she got excited they must get kudos for getting people signed up) She sent me over to customer service where the lady was awful. Very rude did not listen to me, and kept helping other customers while she was helping me. Final straw was they didnt have the friday freebee juice on the floor. They may be the only true "grocery store" in town, but I believe they have succeeded because of their consistently good quality meat and deli selections (produce and bakery are improving).
