I drove here after googling Hyvee. They are advertising the new Zero Sugar Blackberry Dr Pepper. I found some for $9.49 a 12 pack. Ouch! But there is a buy 2 get 2 free sale for Pepsi products. They were out of regular Zero Sugar Dr Pepper but I did buy 2 Zero Sugar Strawberry and Cream Dr Pepper and 2 blackberry. I tried a warm can in the car and it was good but better chilled, sweet though. They also had some Beer Nuts snacks. These are hard to find in some stores. Cashier was nice. read more

Hy-Vee is one of our favorite places to go get groceries. It feels big, clean and not super expensive. They have great deals all of the time. They do have a huge deli area with a big selection of food to grab and go. Our favorite places to go would be the meat , seafood and cheese area. I love the selection of cheese that Hy-Vee has. Service has been usually pretty good. Keep an eye out for coupons in the mail. One thing I'm not a super fan is how their rewards program works. You have to pay for a membership where you would get the best deals. I prefer the cub foods rewards program over this. Other than that I really like going this location. read more

I specifically went to Hy-Vee to purchase 85 lean ground beef, which was advertised online at $4.99 for a 1 lb. chub (see screenshot from my PC). I specifically wrote the price down on my list so I would remember. When I selected it from the shelf, I noticed that the shelf price was over $6 a pound (shelf regular price also differed from online regular price), so I monitored the check-out process closely to see how it would scan. The product rang up at the higher shelf price, so I intervened with the cashier. She was super nice and called a manager over. I explained, but off course I had no proof of the sale price (could not pull it up on my phone), except what I wrote down on my list. I must have a sincere manner because they did do a price adjustment, as this item was not in their printed flyer. My question is this--Why is there such misalignment between scanned and advertised prices? This is NOT the first time I have caught this. Customers should NOT have to closely monitor the scan process and potentially argue with the cashier over the correct sale pricing. I would guess most people don't pay close attention during item scanning, especially on large orders and therefore don't catch it until they get home, if at all. Never enough registers open. There is always lines and workers never open more registers.

This store seemed crowded and cluttered today. Shelves were all stocked, but most aisles had stacks of merchandise waiting to be shelved. Since the store was very busy, this made it crowded, slow-moving and hard to get around. Lots of extra items in temporary display boxes between the aisles made it feel cluttered rather than open and spacious I remember before. That said, it was a better alternative than having empty shelves. I love Hy-vee and the fresh food options. Prices seem higher than necessary, certainly higher than other places such as Aldi, but the selection options are superb. It's a good one-stop-shop. Tip: Hy-vee has a great gas rewards program. Certain marked items will take in a 10¢ discount per gallon of gas. Grab a few of those items to help keep your costs down at the pumps. All in all, a good shopping experience. read more

Hy-Vee is a newer supermarket chain that entered the Twin Cities market in recent years. As for me, I come from a town (Omaha) that's had Hy-Vees since at least the early 1980s. And Hy-Vee dominates my home town, with its helpful smiles in all its aisles and all that -- it was just a part of my everyday life when I lived there. So, I was a bit tickled at how a lot of Minnesotans seem to think Hy-Vee is some sort of special store from the future. Sure, this New Hope location is a notch above your typical Cub, offering all your grocery favorites plus many specialty sections like a cheese counter and sit-down restaurant, but it seems like most of the larger grocery chains are trending this way as well. Add in a gas station and liquor store and this Hy-Vee aims to become the primary spot to grab just about anything in a 5-mile radius, much like a shiny new Hy-Vee does in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Missouri. All that said, don't be surprised when Hy-Vee bumps out Cub as the No. 1 grocery chain in the area... that just might be what they do best. read more

kenzie was VERY RUDE she is a customer service clerk. I had purchased some ground turkey a couple of days before and I returned it. 59 2025 because it was spoiled when I opened it I proceeded to go into the store about 7:40 PM after work to make a return, I stood at the customer service desk for a good 2 to 3 minutes, which wasn't a problem. Kenzie came over to the counter and put a sign up, saying we're unavailable right now and proceeded to walk away. I asked Kenzie if somebody was working here she says yeah they're not here right now and what do I need in a rude manner I told her I need to make a return. She sells well. She's not here right now. She'll be here in a few minutes. She went on about her and proceeded to call people to the front of the store to ring the same rude Kenzie came back. It was the same one who did the return after she said that she didn't work at the customer service desk before and actually did my return. What was the problem with her doing the return in the first place she could've just told me I need to call a few people to the front and I'll take care of you. She was very, very rude very nonchalant and not willing to help me at all when I first entered the store I come to the store several times a week and I spend good money to be treated like shit. Starting with I left my purchases setting on the counter and walked out starts this review if I could give them a minus 10 I would! the store is staffed with half wits! I wish they had ones closer to the city but if driving to New Hope every once in awhile to do my grocery shopping is what it takes, then that's what needs to happen. Let's talk about their food court. Awesome. We ordered a rack of ribs from The Hickory House. It does NOT disappoint y'all. Dry rub. They're generous with the BBQ sauce so just ask for however much you want. Tender and flavorful. Rarely does another place beat Costco but Hyvee's ribs are hands down the winner. And at $15 a rack, it'll feed 2 very hungry people. The eating area is clean, bright, and comfortable. Usually most grocery stores don't provide such a nice and large area for eating - I wouldn't hesitate to buy a ready made meal and sit around the dining area longer to enjoy the food. Even just walking around the store is such a relaxing experience. Perhaps I'm a nut. But I'm a food lover who enjoys the simple joy of grocery shopping in a nice store that isn't about fluff and overinflated prices. read more

Okay... yesterday was my very first time ever at Hy-Vee.... WHYYYYYYY?!?!!! I don't understand why I haven't been here before. This place was amazing! The location in New Hope felt like you drove into the city of Hy-Vee actually... they have their own gas station, grocer, LQ store, grille (sit down restaurant).. it actually was bit weird LOL now that i think about it, but the store is dope. So... Ambiance: overwhelming and with many options. It's like walking into Costco, Trader Joe's and Cub all at once, but not in bulk and without someone offering you samples. You walk in and there is a deli (not called deli though), they have specific names to their areas "Hickory House" where i almost bought some pork tenderloin that looked sooo delicious, they had an Asian deli area, another area i passed by and a the bakery... don't get me started on the bakery. Ms. I'm supposed to be on a diet here broke down and bought 3, count them 1, 2 , 3 baked goods. SMH. It was clean, stocked and full options. I had to purposefully keep my $$ in my wallet. Service: everyone was pleasant and friendly and personable.. it was like walking into a whole new world.. seriously. Writing a review on the opening weekend of anything is a little risky. But I used to actually write about the retail industry for a living, so I feel a little over-qualified, I guess. For sure, the new Hy-Vee store is impressive. It's huge. It's pretty. It's overwhelming with possibility. It's a real foodie wonderland. The store itself was everything you'd want on an opening weekend: Crowded as hell, shiny and new, beautifully merchandised and staffed with super friendly employees who despite being harried were still friendly and seemed truly like they wanted to help make your experience as pleasant as possible. Everywhere I looked I was impressed with what I saw. -The produce section is huge and well-stocked. There are organic and non-organic options everywhere. The fruit and veggies are piled high. I will say though that some things I saw confused me -- why stock cucumbers sticking up vertically? Maybe aesthetically interesting but kind of weird. And the strawberries I looked at were largely moldy and old looking, though I was able to find some strawberries that were fine. -The deli counter was mouth-watering... and they were handing out samples of prosciutto that was not only delicious but cut to order on a deli slicer. WHAT. At $25 a pound it was not cheap but so yum. This is also a deli counter where they preslice some of the more popular meats so you can just walk up and grab a pound of whatever. -The bakery was absolutely cranking out confections, and they all looked lovely. Bread, muffins, doughnuts, really excellent. The woman who helped me was delightfully friendly. -The bulk dry good section literally took my breath away. It is massive. There were bins and bins of everything from nuts to dried fruit to trail mix. There were something like 10 kinds of sesame sticks, which made my husband ridiculously happy. We did learn that the five-digit code that you write on your little tag is actually meant to be put into the machines in the bulk area that then spit out a label for your item. That one will take a learning curve for some folks. -There is a huge organic area over by the dairy and frozen foods, so if you're looking for those kinds of options, they are at the end of the store. -The ethnic options were really great. There is a whole aisle of Asian food items, for instance, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the usual variety of Asian cooking items found in most grocery stores AND several brands that I typically only see in Asian food stores. It's rare for me to find rice sticks, Chinese egg noddles and other ingredients like those in a traditional supermarket. Bravo. -Some of the aisles are really narrow, which led to big time congestion with the number of people in the store. I thought I was going to have to go all East Coast on some ladies in the dairy aisle to get to my Chobani. But I attribute this largely to the opening weekend crowd. I did note that there were several items in this area where I found varieties I don't often see in our other area stores. I think this will be something I see more of as I have to explore the shelves at a more leisurely pace once some of the hubub dies down. -They had every single checkout line open and they were all jammed. Still checking out was pretty pain-free. AND hurray for a store that lets you take your damn cart out to your car yourself!!! Overall I would say the prices are a bit more expensive than Cub or even Lunds. It did very much remind me of Wegman's back East. It was a lovely store and a place that would be just delightful to shop. But be prepared to pay slightly higher than average prices for regular goods and a premium price for premium goods. But that said, there definitely will be items and times for which that is totally worth it. It's a nice addition to this market, which I think is in need of some good competition. I hope it forces other retailers in the area to up their game. I would definitely say that Hy-Vee put its best foot forward. I was pretty impressed. Oh, and there's a Fuel Perks program. I haven't learned all the details yet but they had someone stationed at the door handing out cards and brochures. read more

I had been meaning to check-out this newer HyVee location out since it opened and it's just lovely! I was mostly curious to see what natural food options that they provided for being a mainstream supermarket. Verdict? Great! I was impressed that they carried Thousand Hills Cattle Company beef (100% grass fed and generally only carried by co-ops and natural food stores). That alone is encouraging that they understand what more customers are looking for (clean food)! The store has the squeaky clean and squeaky new look still. Tremendous variety and even prepared food options. I won't hesitate to come back in the future! read more

I shop at my local HyVee (New Hope MN) almost daily. When I first started shopping there I was excited every time I walked in the door. This location has gone downhill dramatically. Shelves always empty The fruit spoils in just a few short days Broken Bread Slicer in Bakery Their USPS Computer is always down Employees are scarce The Self Check-outs are always breaking Employees I once knew and were friends with have left due to poor management. A lot of times they have 1 person working customer service and they are juggling multiple issues. USPS, returns, spoiled food, Money Orders, answering phones, complaints, etc. They need help!! My fiance used to live in the Quad Cities on the Illinois/Iowa border and has been in love with Hy-Vee ever since. We moved from Illinois to Minnesota last year and we were ecstatic to find out we were getting a Hy-Vee near our home. We went right when the New Hope location opened and were amazing at the high-end look and feel with affordable prices (except for some of the candy). The employees have been pretty friendly as well. One thing that I absolutely love and I can't stop raving about is their online ordering. I ordered a large order before Christmas for all of my Christmas cooking along with our regular daily meals. It informed me that they ran out of sprinkles that I wanted. I was bummed but it wasn't an essential item so I wasn't too concerned and when I got my groceries they had given me the color of sprinkles I had ordered from the bakery supply free of charge. It was such a great experience and is definitely worth the small charge (which is waived if you spend over $100). I have really only been slightly disappointed with the bakery area. We purchased chocolate chip cookies the one day which were actually some of the worst chocolate chip cookies I've eaten but I've eaten some of their bread and donuts and those are both good. read more

This is the best location in the area!! After being tremendously disappointed in horrendous treatment at the Brooklyn Park location, I was feeling pretty jaded and hopeless about shopping at any more Metro Hy-Vee stores (and I love Hy-Vee as a company). I decided to give the location in New Hope a try, as it is not far from the location in Brooklyn Park. I was not disappointed. Everybody listens to me when I have questions, I am treated kindly by cashiers and baggers, the management happily and rapidly corrects errors without incident...and the one time I was mistreated, I not only got tremendous help from several people, but a US $10 gift certificate as compensation for the rude sales associate. This location is every reason why Hy-Vee is one of the most amazing supermarket chains in the country. Pam at The New Hope Hy-vee went above and beyond our expectations!! I went in with a couple Pinterest photos of some grazing boards and discussed my overall idea. She had us come in for a tasting and then again to see a mock up board. The day of our wedding, Pam came with all of our 5 foot grazing boards assembled, stayed to make sure the looked great through out cocktail hour and then helped clean up. She was incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the boards, and offered great suggestions. Our guests RAVED about the grazing boards that we used in place of formal wedding centerpieces. Two reviews here, first the grocery store, then the bar/restaurant Sunday brunch. The store is pretty likable. It is Lund's for less, basically. Great selection, good service. More than Cub and worth it. The deli is great, love the seafood selection too. The Sunday brunch was excellent to start with, but has now shrunk in selection. The deserts are few and uninspired, the food is a B+. I must say that I was pretty aggravated to have a piece of Prime Rib cut at the buffet only to be told they did "not have Au Ju now". Seriously?! That's like saying you serve hamburgers but you are out of ketchup! The restaurant is in a grocery store, go get some of the stuff in a bottle at least! The Bloody Mary bar would be great for anyone who drinks them, and the parking is good. Overall I wold say the brunch is not worth a special trip, but if you are shopping anyway try it. It is also nice to be able to grab a drink and watch a game where you buy your groceries. They are big on the Vikings so nice for fans. read more

Hy-Vee.... is literally a miracle. I am a broke Minnesotan student that is trying to eat real food, instead of having beef Ramen everyday. Google is my best friend, never fails me. I searched for cheapest grocery store MN; of course Walmart popped up( lame ) Aldi's ( no thanks) and then Hy-Vee popped up; the name reminded me of Fleet Farm (dont ask me why because I don't even know why) ... well I drove my butt over there to check it out. You guys! When I pulled up in my Honda Pilot , i said "Yo this parking lot is so extra!" For the hipsters that be whippin in a electric car, they have those plug ins to recharge your Duracell battery , plenty of Handicap and soon to be mothers reserved spots but the most awesome reserved parking spot is for our Veterans,Active Duty,Police Force and Fire Fighters! The sign is called "Super Hero Parking Only". Hy -Vee deserves extra cool points for that ! Basically the parking lot is the size of a football field From the outside the building looks, plain jane but inside its like Target, Cub Foods, Whole Foods, Big Lots , i would put Walmart in but that's an insult to Hy-Vee. This place has everything, it even has a restaurant ( never ate there so I ain't going to talk about that) AND they have a Starbucks right in-front of the entrance! I love me some Starbucks What I am about to write kinda creeped me out , ONLY because i was not used to employees treating me like I was Beyonce! The employees come up to you and greet you in a way that makes you feel like your saying hi to your homeboy or homegirl, and they call me "miss" instead of ma'm , I am 26 yrs old and when someone calls me ma'm I lose it. Anyways I am the type of shopper that stares at a shelf and looks completely lost . I was at the chip aisle and of course I stood there with my spaced out facial expression. In my peripheral vision i see a human walking towards my direction and all of a sudden I hear " I recommend the jalapeño cheetos" I looked at him like he was a grocery angel because I was literally thinking that I should pick the jalapeño cheetos! It's like the employees can read your mind, it's a supernatural phenomenon going on inside that building! I love it! They hire employees that have this genuine and caring vibe, that also have psychic abilities. How did that man know about my jalapeño cheetos, mind blown Let's talk about prices! The prices are stupid low to the point it makes you think how do they make profit?Also if you sign up for there rewards card which you can get at the customer service desk, the price gets even lower AND point for gas. Yes they have their own gas station. This place even has free Wi-Fi through out the whole store and not the low speed AOL dial up, it's a speed that not even i have at home, the speed is like a Bugatti Chiron at 261 MPH . This place reminded me of Wegman's which is an east coast chain. It is a specialty grocery with amazing pre-made foods, meats, cheeses, desserts, wine, etc. We went on Superbowl Sun to pick up snacks. I loved that you could get 4 stuffed mushrooms, 2 jalapeno poppers . . . you are not stuck with more than you want. The wing bar was amazing, the cajun was my fave. Probably just bad ordering but the all you can eat fish fry was pretty disappointing. Fried fish was soggy so sent it back ant tried bakes which was dry and tough. Shrimp was more breading than shrimp, but at least it was crunchy. Lobster bisque was watery and lobster- less and potatoes were way over cooked. The dinner rolls were heavy but tasty. Not worth 9:99 for bread and water. Disappointed in the food but the service was nice and the patio seating was pleasant. read more
