Love Hyvee! Great grocery store with a little bit of everything and then some! Live lobster, french bakery items, amazing spread of cheese and meat (beef selection especially) is fantastic. They have a rewards program that gives you savings on items in store and at the pump. Love there selection of bulk items that save on waste and paper bags provided for easy recycling/composting. I do wish there was a closer location. This would be my go to grocery. 4 stars because of customer service, I overheard a couple employees complaining about hours and gossiping about how many people got busted by the secret shopper for shoplifting and ended up with cat food that i didn't buy because the previous customer couldn't afford so the bagger didn't pay attention and i ended up with an errand. I recently visited this Hy-Vee store see what was being offered and I knew they had a great lunch menu. I got their salmon meal and it was really good and it was worth the money. The store is easy to shop around and I love their selection of health food items since I got a lot of hydrating Waters with electrolytes. Great grab and go snacks as well at a fair price. I will dock some points because the store smells really weird. I do find it really cool that this store has a bar in it too. People litter the parking lot with shopping carts and there's no reason why the security guard should be grabbing carts as well. Really clean restrooms too! read more

Worst shopping experience ever! One cashier on most days. Almost always short staffed. Nobody wants to show up to work and cook on the weekends. The staff is rude as hell. Hy-Vee is my store of choice when I'm traveling so I seek them out for my fridge items for my room. It was like 5 miles from me and I probably past 30 other stores but I didn't care because I like their own brand of the flavored seltzer water for my room. This supermarket is AMAZING. So they have many products most importantly many high end and then some huge value private label. The staff and service is so professional and every staff member goes out of their way to get whatever you need or help you with your shopping experience. I noticed an Asian American young man went to get a cart for a couple who had chosen to carry 2 baskets but then baskets got full (maybe like myself, they found too many good deals!) I saw that and got the feel good feeling when someone cares that much on the job. The food kitchen is amazing with tons of variety food Italian to Asian and American and on top with great flat screens. WELL DONE HY-VEE! Many great products at great prices. This place is a little slice of grocery heaven. I was heartbroken when my local grocery store stopped carrying fat free cheese shreds, as they make the best cracker alternatives. I wound up searching for local grocery stores using my handy dandy Yelp. Alas, most of the closest grocery stores I had already been to. I saw a Hy-Vee about 7 miles away and decided to make the trip. I stepped in and discovered heaven before I even got to the cheese department. The store was bright and clean, and they have the most impressive selection of things for special diets--high protein? Paleo? Keto (either therapeutic or nutritional)? They have you covered! They've got a great selection of Quest products. They have tons of Walden Farms. They have all kinds of alternative sweeteners. And that's in addition to their regular grocery departments! I also found Madras curry powder, which I thought would require a trip to an Indian market, so score! read more

This has the feel of a high end grocery store in a low end part of town. They have a really nice vitamin aisle which had some weirdo things (astrolagus) that there is no way Walgreens would have, much less Cub Foods. They also have nice organic food aisle with lots of tempting goodies. Lots of veggies, organic and conventional. Such a big store with loads of aisles of everything standard too, you can get your whole list. It also had an intriguing drugstore area with nice lighted shelves, and then a higher end product area which was covered and locked because it was night. I was in no need of any shampoo, soap or makeup, but I will definitely keep it in mind if I need it. It also has a cart sanitizer, very high tech. This store is keeping up with the times! read more

I am not really a fan of national chains, especially when it comes to food (when they're not Trader Joe's, that is). Now, when Hy-Vee came to town, I lived near the Eagan location. We'd go there, on occasion after stuffing ourselves at El Loro to help make us feel better after the gluttony we'd participated in at the restaurant. We found that they have a lemon cake that is CRAZY delicious and that they seem to have about everything else. Since I live near Robbinsdale now, I was happy to see that a Hy-Vee was coming to the neighborhood. The staff are friendly and helpful and I've been able to use my "damsel in distress" act to get things from shelves that I don't feel like reaching for at the time. They layout is a little different from some other locations, so I had to figure that out when I started shopping here. It's also smaller than the Eagan location, so there are less departments from which to shop. Despite this, there is very little missing here. So, if you've got time to roam and need things for your place, this is literally your one-stop shop. read more

What a wonderful addition to the community! This store is easy to navigate, has friendly and helpful employees and the selection of products is good. In addition to the grocery, there is a food court area, pharmacy, walk in health clinic, floral and more. Across the lot is a Hy-Vee gas station and convenience store that includes a Fresh and Fast and a Starbucks. If you're home bound, this store will be offering delivery services to their area. Want something you don't see on the shelves? Ask to have it added - many times this is easily done. Make sure to sign up for the Fuel Saver card, you'll save a lot on gas! When your in the store, look for the Hy-Vee One Step products that help feed 5 million children each year. Stop in, you'll be happy you did. read more

I went to the Hy-Vee in Robbinsdale for the first time and was hoping that it would be monitored for safety. But 75% of shoppers were not wearing masks and were not paying attention to a six foot distance. No announcements were made about maintaining a social distance. And no one paid attention to the one-way arrows pointing out the direction for each aisle. And the sales workers were some of the worst offenders - they were clogging the aisles (there were 3-4 of them in one frozen food aisle restocking), which made it much more difficult to maneuver through. I will not be back at this point. read more

Went to grab some gas, from my now new fav gas station. They have specials from the grocer that could give you a discount on your gas. No one has explained to me how this works, what I'm looking for and I could really use a lesson on HOW to get my little black hyvee card to work on the pump. Lolbvvs Customer service is always good. The people there are friendly & professional. Super appreciated. It's convenient to run a few errands in one location. If I could just start partaking of the gas discounts, I'd give them 4 stars. If you went to a restaurant and ordered then after waiting half a hour the waiter brings out half your food and tells you they are out of one item. One persons meal is completely missing, 3 others are missing half their food. and when you complain they tell you we can give you a refund and screw the 3 children who are missing some of their food and the adult that gets nothing. well that's what Hy-Vee did to my family when they only delivered half my food. sadly, it's not the first time this store has screwed up my order, but it is the last time. Love my neighborhood Hy-Vee!! Been supporting this chain for years, but now that it's down the street, I cannot help but go here for everything! As soon as you walk in, you're instantly greeted by friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about where things are plus they are always willing to assist with hard to reach items. The layout is super cool and there is always something new to see, taste or smell. They also are huge on focusing on locally sourced small businesses and showcase those items prominently throughout the store. From dry rub seasoning to soda, to everything in between, supporting small business helps our communities thrive that much more. I had to save the best for last...that awesome restaurant! The choices are plentiful....Asian style, home style, American style, you name it! There's also a full service bar located in the store where we've enjoyed a good meal as well as an NBA game. We even watched a portion of the Super Bowl here! Starbucks on site inside the store, plus a drive thru option connected to the gas station (which is my favorite gas station as well). Nothing better than racking up rewards in the store from shopping, then using those same points to lower the price of E85 which is super hard to find in the city. Previously, I reviewed the Hy- Vee in New Hope. The Robbinsdale location is definitely the better of the two for both the grocery and the restaurant. A very welcome addition to the old North end suburb and a leaps and bounds improvement over the Rainbow and dying strip mall of recent years past. The customer service here is excellent, always friendly and attentive, never overbearing. The seafood is second to none, save maybe Coastal Seafood. I got some Alaskan Salmon here that made my guests swoon with a very simple preparation. Bonus is the layout of the store. You can actually find things with clear, simple signage in pairings that make sense. The brunch here seemed better and fresher than New Hope. The food was hotter, the staff more friendly. The Prime Rib here, a personal brunch favorite was supper tender and flavorful. The Happy Hour here is great too. The house Chard even was a cut above the typical house swills, and hats off on the Mai Tais we ordered on a whim. I still stop in to "my" Cub on occasion, but overall I don't save enough by going to Cub to keep me away from this Hy-Vee. read more

Hy-Vee cares about their products and their customers. I had a recent issue and the Director of Ops himself, Dale M., saw to it that my issue was resolved. Hy-Vee gives you great value, too. Today I was able to purchase 7 days worth of food for 5 people for $62......that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and a bag of dog food for the family pet! Hy-Vee takes customer service and satisfaction very seriously, and that's rare today. At the least 4 employees and a security guard were standing at the end of the self service station watching me check out, as I was walking out two of the employees said "mam" I didn't think they were talking to me they were giggling and we're not at all serious. They said "mam" again laughing. I turn around and the manager comes following me looking down at the ground. Telling me that those girls think I stole some shampoo, still looking at the ground. She said they wanna look in your purse!.. I'm thinking they were all watching me check out and seen the amount of money I paid for five things. And still accused me of stealing!!! They said we're going to write down your license plate!.. I said, good! they were all following me out to my car now! I turned around and said fine!!! look in my f***ing purse! And the security guard looked at me and said... "no I don't need to look in your purse it's all good"! This was complete harassment I'm not taking it lightly! I would appreciate it if corporate would get in touch with me in regards to this situation. read more

I love that Hy-Vee has fresh salads. I love the butcher food. I love the selection. This is a hard review to write. I love Hy-Vee. Even though it cost me about $100 more a month in groceries. This location was very friendly the first 5 or 6 times I have gone. Even now people do say "hi" when walking by. It's the individual counters I have had issues with. The last 3x. Today the butcher counter was good but the last time I stood for about 5 minutes than they walked over and helped the person that came after me. I just walked away. Didn't buy what I wanted. The time before that I literally stood there. For a LONG time. The bakery counter is the worst. I have yet to be helped. I went there twice today to see if someone would help me. Nope. Cheese counter today they had new people. I said I need some of this cut. She said wait for Bill. I said I will comeback. Came back didn't get done. I said I will comeback again. Comeback was done. Meanwhile her and another were stocking the whole time. Why do you need to stock if you don't serve people? This cheese was on special should have been cut already. Went to self checkout. Wouldn't scan my coupon. No one in sight. Finally someone who didn't know how got it so I could Continue. Forget the coupon at this point. The other thing that bothers me. My kids are autistic. He wants the free balloon. Most times there are none left. This causes a meltdown for child who needs routine. It's early. Today I went at 1pm. Shouldn't be out. read more

Today I decided to finally check out your new Robbinsdale store (I've gone to the New Hope store several times). My takeaways: 1. Your employees are not nearly as nice as the ones at New Hope. At New Hope, I am greeted about 40 times while shopping, never even saw anyone crack a smile at Robbinsdale, much less greet me. 2. I spent 1 1/2 hours there. My usual shopping trips take about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Why? You might ask...because your store is laid out so ridiculously that you can't find anything. I went up and down the three snack aisles three times each, and could not find a rice cake. They aren't in the healthy food area either. 3. Your bakery is really lacking. I normally shop at Cub and Sam's Club, and even Cub has better rolls than you do. The only thing you carry are Kaiser rolls and pretzel rolls - no onion rolls, no sesame rolls, no whole wheat rolls. I even asked - the woman showed me where the Kaiser rolls were, but they are bagged 4 to a bag. I buy these for my husbands lunch - he works 5 days a week, so I was forced to buy two bags. Your bakery does not have cookies either!?!? Cookies should be a staple in a bakery. You have about 300 kinds of doughnuts, but no cookies. I don't want to buy cookies manufactured in a plant, I like to buy freshly baked cookies for my husbands lunch. 4. The way your store is laid out is crazy. It's very difficult to find anything, and the order of things really doesn't make sense. You have huge pallets of things blocking some aisles, so if there was something down there I needed, I didn't find it. (Maybe that's where you're hiding the rolls and rice cakes?) 5. I couldn't find Almond Milk, when I finally found someone to ask, they said it was in the healthy food section, so I went all the way back there, and it wasn't refrigerated? It was just sitting on a shelf. Uh uh. 6. While your coffee selection was extensive, you did not carry Dip It, the coffee maker cleaner (Cub has it), this is Robbinsdale, where our water tastes shitty and is full of chemicals that leave lime scale on all our glassware - Dip It is essential. 7. Your English Cucumbers were soggy at the ends. Yuck. Your green grapes looked like they were there since 1982. They were sickly looking. 8. It seems you carry so many specialty items, that you don't have room for essentials. While that's nice if I'm looking for escargot or goose liver pate, it's not so nice if I want a caramel rice cake, or sesame seed rolls. 9. I got most of the things on my list (and a couple bonus items). My usual bill is around $100/week, but at your store, I spent $130 for basically the same things I get at Cub, so your plentiful signs bragging about your price versus Cub's prices was only for stuff no one buys, or things you only buy once a year. 10. I had to make a special trip to Cub after shopping at your store to get caramel rice cakes, Dip It, green bananas, onion rolls, and cookies (made fresh at the store). 11. I expected to be delighted. I was disappointed. I will do all my future shopping at @Cub. read more

Down town De s Moines store. Twice, in the past week, purchased crackers and cheese for separate parties, only to be shocked and embarrassed by past due expired dates. Today, I bought a cream cheese spread marketed and made at the store. When I opened it at home, it was apparent, from the cracker crumbs, it has been used as sample and placed back in the case. Also,prices are outrageous,compared to their other stores. The items are delivered by the same company trucks and from the same warehouse. read more

I would give this store a zero if I could. Let me start by saying that I placed a order online through the catering system, so it should have been ready for me to pickup as the order was confirmed that they had received it from me through a email that Hyvee responded back to me through. Long story short when I arrived, non of the order had been put together. A bunch of teenagers were working the counters, which had no clue how to even put the order together, thank goodness I printed my order out and brought it into the store. I was attending a baby shower, and it took Hy-Vee teenagers 30 minutes to put my order together. After the long wait, I then asked if they were sure that everything was in the bags, at which time they had rolling eyes, and nasty attitudes which they had forgotten, the gravy, rolls, and some misc items. I then told one teenager, if anything I should be the one with a attitude verses getting one from them since they are the ones late with the order and putting me behind schedule. I will never use or recommend this store in Robbinsdale, if you have any big event that requires catering. read more
