Husnik Well Co. absolutely deserves all the positive reviews they receive. Mike came out the day after Thanksgiving to evaluate our aging pressure tank and well pump. We had already been researching replacements and Husnik was at the top of our list, but we were hoping to wait until spring. Unfortunately, the well pump failed on Thanksgiving--best laid plans. Mike was responsive, calm, and incredibly thorough. He explained that there was significant sediment buildup and made it clear he could get water on quickly, but that it wouldn't be good-quality water. Instead, he came back Saturday to properly clean out the well, install a new pressure tank, and replace the pump--doing the job the right way. During what felt like a true household crisis (no running water really changes your perspective!), Mike went above and beyond. When he realized Friday night that our water wouldn't be restored until Saturday, he even offered to let us refill empty water jugs at his business. That kind of thoughtfulness and integrity is rare. We never felt rushed, pressured, or taken advantage of--just well informed and genuinely cared for. Our Water pressure died on Saturday of a holiday weekend when we were expecting a houseful of company on Sunday. Mike answered our call (we did not have to go through leaving a voicemail and waiting for a return call). Cory arrived at our house in under two hours, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had our water pressure restored in less than an hour. He thoroughly explained to everything to us that he found and the steps he was taking to fix it. My vintage '80s jet pump and pressure tank needed to be replaced by newer, more efficient equipment. Mike came out to the house, sent me an estimate, and returned on December 4th with the new units. This was not an easy job. He and his assistant worked on it for most of the day. I am now able to sleep at night without worrying whether I will have running water in the morning. Although I knew they had to work through unanticipated problems making the change, they were friendly and pleasant throughout the day. The bill Mike presented was more than fair. We had no running water and called Mike Husnik on his business line early on a Tuesday morning. He answered and told me he would send his son, Cory over to assess the situation that same day! Cory nailed down the issue to a failing well pump and was able to come back the next morning (Wednesday) exactly when he told me he would. Cory needed to trim a tree to get his truck in and was very careful with the trimming (remember, this is a well guy)! Then from the very beginning to the end of his work to extract and replace the pump Cory was knowledgeable, professional, thorough, had all the right equipment and knew exactly how to use it all! I was able to watch him do the work and during this time he was patient and helped me understand well systems and how they work...very personable! He made sure the water was clear before we used it in our house and finished the job completely, including clean up. Before he came into our house he removed his shoes so there was no mess what so ever in the house! Everything about this job was completely impressive! Our well stopped working. Of course, this would happen on a weekend. I put in a call to Husnik Well Drilling. Mike came out on a Sunday evaluated the problem. The submersible pump needed to be replaced. He did some preliminary work on Sunday and came back Monday with his son to finish the job. They cleaned and flushed the well and replaced the pump. They checked and replaced the worn or damaged components inside the house. They used only premium parts. Husnik has consistently been there for our family over the last ten years. The first time they had to come it was on the coldest day of the year as the well gave out. The next day they came and drilled and replaced our well thingie replacing the submersible thingie... So then a few years later we needed another repair and he was able to talk me through how to fix the well over the phone and never charged me! A year or so later we had something- always on the coldest day of the year and they replaced a switch plate that relayed electricity to the well... This isn't in my wheel house but they are always knowledgeable, helpful, and do excellent work! They are honest and offer a fair price for the work they do... Want to be charged 3x's retail for a pressure tank that other Companies would actually discount from retail. Do you like to have an invoice handed to you that's $400 higher than you expected? Mistake right he must have made a mistake . I thought that 2 but the he told me while i was looking in shock at the bill I was handed that oh good thing you used a Well Co a plumber would have charged you over $2,000.00 This happens not to be true since the day before I had contacted several in the area in addition to 2 well companies only one was over URN low as $295. Yes same Pressure Tank Switch and Gauge Those by the way were their totals not the cost of just the tank. . His Dad worked for me in 2001 installing the tank the son was now replacing. This was why I used him and didn't ask a price as I did the others. So I paid him gave him a check. I did this because he seemed to me a person that was edgy I'm disabled and frankly I was afraid what he would have done if i had confronted him for charging me 3x's the retail price for just the tank. Then after he was gone I phoned my wife and instructed her to sop payment on the check immediately! So thinking his Dad was so honest what happened? so I looked apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree . His dad had way over billed me as well and on the tank yelp. Except that time it was a tank with an air cell that would never fail. The company retailed back then for $230 Dad sold it to us for $580, Don't buy the good reviews on Husniks Well Drilling either they are company placed reviews or they are reviews by folks that never bothered to check how inflated over retail the Husniks were ripping them off for, SO beware stay away ! read more
