We had already been researching replacements and Husnik was at the top of our list, but we were hoping to wait until spring. Unfortunately, the well pump failed on Thanksgiving--best laid plans. Mike was responsive, calm, and incredibly thorough. He explained that there was significant sediment buildup and made it clear he could get water on quickly, but that it wouldn't be good-quality water. Instead, he came back Saturday to properly clean out the well, install a new pressure tank, and replace the pump--doing the job the right way. During what felt like a true household crisis (no running water really changes your perspective!), Mike went above and beyond. When he realized Friday night that our water wouldn't be restored until Saturday, he even offered to let us refill empty water jugs at his business. That kind of thoughtfulness and integrity is rare. Kyle was not too happy and fond in the idea that my household is getting quotes from a few other companies for heating and cooling. "Wait wait wait, I'm confused because you're calling me but telling me you have multiple other people coming in and out of the house for quotes. So what is the job that you need done?" Us: "both... we need the mini split looked at and have the remotes reconnected plus we're looking at quotes. That's what you do to get the best prices and knowledge for a job that needs to be done". According to Kyle, AC and cooling companies "don't do that to each other", meaning the business industry is not a competitive market and therefore the person you call first has to be the person you hire. That's the impression you just put out and that was the most inappropriate phone call coming from a business begging for 'votes' on the quality of your work and business. Guess my home will be the first to say that I would NOT recommend a company more concerned on their arrogance and pushing customers to not receive quotes on a multi thousand dollar job... not to mention how inappropriate it was to treat us like we can't afford $80.00 some dollars to replace remotes on our current mini split. I spent $1825 for this in July 2021. I also used him for my sump pump discharge system also. (My pipes were freezing during the winter). Mark provided a system with a blue hose that I was to use during the warm months and then remove during the winter months. I paid around $500 for this visit. Well...the blue hose lasted maybe 2 days. It was so flimsy that it tore in several spots. Back came Mark with a much better hose that didn't rip, but I had to pay him AGAIN $365!! ($120 for parts and $245 for labor). I considered this to be highway robbery. Lastly, I had Mark replace my sump pump system itself in May of 2023 ($630 for a new sump pump). In September of 2024 it wasn't working (constantly running without water being in the well). I was pissed and texted him to let him know that it was running constantly and to ask about the warranty. I also said that unless he was willing to provide a free service call, I would be using another plumber whose fees were more reasonable. When Mark showed up at my house, he was angry. He said that the sump pump broke because my discharge hose was kinked. I attempted to tell him that the hose was only kinked for a few hours (my lawn service company had moved the hose the previous afternoon in order to mow). Mark didn't want to hear it. When I was trying to talk to him, he walked away saying "don't yell at me about a malfunctioning sump pump when it's your fault. I'm giving you a free replacement even though it's your fault". Suffice it to say, I won't be using his company again. A customer should never be yelled at.
