I love bringing my kids here during their harvest festival. It was $5 per person for entry for 2yrs and up but each child gets to pick a pumpkin to take home. There a room to decorate the pumpkins along with other arts and crafts. There's other activities like a petting zoo, panning for gold, butter churning, fairy garden, and quilting + more all included with the entry fee. It's a short event from 10-2 but if you're local it's definitely worth a visit. They sell burgers and hotdogs, which they BBQ on site, if you want to have lunch there. I packed some snacks for the kids as it was a short event and it was not an issue taking it in. Everyone was so friendly and eager to help with activities. read more

Beware if you're getting married here! These guys really dropped the ball for our wedding a few weeks ago. I'll give you the quick bullet points bar didn't open on time during cocktail hour, when bar did open we didn't have as many bartenders as were promised so we had a very long line, also when bar finally opened their POS was down so they were cash only. appetizers didn't get served until dinner was getting served. timelines kept getting pushed back and myself (the groom) and my bride had to keep going back and forth into the kitchen to talk with the coordinator for the day instead of enjoying our wedding. we werent served first for dinner. our wedding cake was never put out for display until we were about to cut it and noticed it wasn't put out. I called our main wedding coordinator and texted her day of, as well as sent a follow up text to her after the wedding trying to get a hold of her and still 1 1/2 weeks latter we haven't heard back. the coordinator day of supposedly spoke with the owner regarding some of these issues so he's aware of what happened, yet we haven't had anyone reach out to us. at this point I'm seeking legal council for breach of contract because on our special day these guys really dropped the ball and so far have refused to take responsibility for it. read more

I visited Hurst Ranch in Azusa for an exciting large-scale Yelp Elite event on a rainy day. Situated in a quiet residential area, this rustic-style ranch doubles as both a large event venue and a historic community museum. The large, white structure is the reception area where about 20+ tables surround a stage and dancing floor with bars on the side. The charming, barn-like structures outside is the museum section where visitors can explore the classroom, engine house, and firetruck pump house back from the early 1900s. As former teachers, the excited docents were teeming with joy talking about the ranch and how much they enjoy the churning butter and making crafts with children from local school field trips and special festivals. This beautiful ranch is a great location for medium-large scale events, and a great idea for parents to take kids on a quick afternoon outing to visit the museum section. BRIDES BEWARE!!! This place is a hot mess from start to finish! Every time I had a meeting with Donna (bashful butler) I had to set up and remind her of said meeting. Every payment I would have to REMIND her I needed to make said payment and try and get a hold of her. Even one time I had to sign paperwork she couldn't make it and her coworker was there to help us, her coworker gave us her number because she even said Donna never answers her phone. DAY OF WEDDING: Everything that possibly could go wrong, went wrong. Everything that we had planned with Donna about details of our wedding did not happen. Why ask us details about what liquor we wanted if you're not going to stock the shelves with it. She said based on our party size 3 bartenders should be good then ONLY one showed up day of !! On top of that they said the iPads weren't working so it was CASH ONLY. But when someone from hurst ranch came all of a sudden the iPads worked again. My opinion he just said cash only to make the lines smaller for himself, but it's cocktail hour for a reason! COCKTAIL HOUR: After Donna convinced us to do a cocktail hour that we weren't 100% convinced doing and paying extra for freezer burned appetizers they were also running late on food and did not tell anyone. I had to go back in the kitchen in my wedding dress to ask what was going on because I tried to call Donna 3x but she was not answering . Bashful Butler catering was just sitting in a circle talking and laughing with no cares. I asked them a status on the appetizers which at this time was an hour late and my "cocktail hour" was over(even tho barely any cocktails were served and there was no appetizers). The point of contact for that day just came up to me and said the food will be late but they are working on it. I then asked her since they are just sitting, if they can help the guy behind the bar since we made sure with Donna there would be 3 bartenders but there's only one. Point of contact said yes they are on their way and she will go in a few mins to help. She then went to call Donna on her phone and Donna answered right away( how convenient she only answered their calls). THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT: As the night went on and still no food was served we have to move up a whole timeline to try and entertain my guest because there was still no food. I went back there probably like 3 more time for status updates but they would say the same thing "it's on its way". That lady never went behind the bar to help out and we never got 2 other bartenders to help out the whole night and the lines were long all night. My concern now growing for my diabetic family members I suggested that we at least put bread and butter out on the table for my guests since the food is more than an hour late. She said that the guest who has diabetes had already came up to her and she gave her bread. ONE, my guest shouldn't have to come up to them because of this. There should have been food by now. TWO, when I asked her to serve all the guests bread she at first said no that it's for dinner then I reminded her that dinner is running really late and it's probably been hours since they have eaten. (I saw someone DoorDash food because they were so hungry) . She then finally agreed and handed out plates of bread for my guest to eat. Besides the fact that I had to beg her to give them bread, I shouldn't be having to do this on my wedding day in my wedding dress trying to coordinate where the food is. I picked the pasta package so it's not like they had to make a roast beef dinner for everyone. They just had to boil pasta and pour in some sauce. FOOD FINALLY CAME: By the time the food finally came we had ran out of things to entertain the guests. We paid an extra hour for the reception, paid an extra hour for the DJ and paid an extra hour for our Photo Booth because of the delay in schedule. The appetizers came the same time as dinner and were dry and tasted like freezer burn. Dinner was okay but the bride and groom (what the whole day was for) didn't get served until like 3 tables in. Point of contact tried to apologize and said she would buy me a drink, which she did, but I instead offered she give us an extra hour of time to make up for the loss cocktail hour. She said she would check with the owner and never got back to me, which didn't even matter because everyone left before we got an opportunity to use that extra hour anyways. Yes, going with hurst ranch you "SAVE" because it's a budget friendly venue but it won't SAVE you from the headaches that come with it.Even then you aren't really saving anything after paying your vendors extra for Bashful Butler's mistakes. My friend is a 2025 bride who has the same problem with Donna, and after I told her about my situation she wants OUT! I've been telling my other engaged friends to stay clear of hurst ranch as well!! So save your money and go somewhere else!!! read more

What a beautiful place. I was fortunate to enjoy attending a Yelp event here and I was truly blown away. Not only is this a fantastic venue for any special event, but it's also occupied by some of the most wonderful ranch care takers. The ranch is located in a residential area across from a school. The original ranch covered over 150 acres of land surrounding the current location. What you see there is what it really was and still remains. This is a true piece of local history which we are fortunate still exists. What was once a fully functional ranch has been drastically down sized but is still being used by those who rent it for special events. Everything on the ranch is authentic, providing a rustic backdrop which is beautiful for any type of event. I was fortunate to meet a Hurst family member while there. She shared stories of growing up on the once fully functional ranch. This is a hidden gem, which although only a fraction of what it once was is still an amazing experience to partake in. Was here for a wedding ceremony and its nice looking spot but there were things that ruined it completely. Fire alarm came on and none of the staff knew how to turn it off. Fire department even came out and didn't know how to turn it off. People couldn't bear it and even left. Air conditioning turned off at some point and it had most people get out the venue to get some fresh air. Was very stuffy in there. I wouldn't consider this place for any of my events. If you are thinking of renting this place DO NOT!!!!! They tell you that you will receive your full deposit if the place is in clean shape after your event. Well guess what, not at all. Also it's take them 4 to 6 week to give you your deposit back and to top it off they deduct $200.00. I believe this is outraged, we clean the hall before we left and still got shorted $200.00. What a charming wedding venue! My husband and I attended a wedding here on July 2017 and it was so much fun. The ceremony took place outside around 4:30pm on a warm summer evening, and although it was a bit hot at first, it eventually cooled down as the night went on. They do have umbrella stands in the ceremony area which shields some of the sun, so that helped. We then moved indoors for the reception which was comfortably air conditioned. Lots of space for the guests to move around & dance. I loved the twinkle lights that hung across the ceiling too; it made for a very whimsical and fun ambiance. Food & and dessert were also tasty. They had a cash bar and our bartender, Stephanie, was awesome. She did an awesome job serving up some (strong) drinks. ;) Overall, we had a great time celebrating with the bride & groom and dancing the night away. We had our reception at Hurst ranch on 9/25/2021... my husband and I loved the look and how everything was pretty much included- (we just had to get our own dj and someone to decorate). Donna worked with us every step of the way and answered all our questions and set up appointments for us for the food tasting and the cake tasting. We had our walk through and she made sure everything was perfect. Juat finished our first yelp event at this location. This location itself was pretty historic. Also they have a museum type feeling with a lot of information. However, today's event was a very good success and we came across some local businesses that we would have never known ever existed. Along with a lot of samples and when I tell you a lot of samples I mean a lot of samples we got our "lunch" plus some free drinks and a whole lot of goodies. I was finally able to met hayley who is the CM for the Inland Empire and got some nice insights about Yelp and her job. Overall this event was very nice being our first yelp event we had awesome fun. The venue is cold . Oh well . The entry way to the restroom was very annoyingly bright . The bar setup was all they way on a corner , too far . Our friends had their wedding here. Nice venue. Not too much parking, so guests will have to park out on the street. We parked next to the school. Walked over in flats without too much issue. The area that they seated us for the ceremony, though, was layered with rocks/pebbles. Girls with heels had a little bit of issue, but not too bad. The rest of the venue was fairly flat and even. Ceremony was nice. Unfortunately, the wireless microphone kept crapping out, so we couldn't hear at least 75% of the wedding . Not cool! If it's a professional setting, I would've thought that they would've tested everything first. The bar area was okay. Thought it was a little kitschy that the venue was serving drinks in those semi-clear, ribbed solo cups (you can get a thousand of those at Costco fairly easy), instead of something a little nicer, like the clear, short cups. It's a wedding, be a little classy! Also, for $7 a drink, kind of a rip-off. Grab beer, instead. At least you'll get 8 fluid ounces instead of 3 ounces (too much ice). They had the actual dinner inside one of the barns. They have lights on the ceiling, which kind of looks nice when you walk in. However, some of the strings were broken and, from a different point of view, it looked like a spider's nest. Food was pretty good, but I'm not sure if they were catered by the venue or if the bride/groom was able to pick what they wanted. Pretty clean areas, though. The actual venue service seemed a little off. Sometimes they acted a little rude, but there were others that were very polite. Lots of parts of the venue where you could definitely potentially do your own decoration if you are crafty. The bride and groom basically made all of their decorations, and they had such an open canvas to do it, that it came out very cute. Overall, it was a nice wedding, but I think it was more because of the bride and groom being awesome people and everyone was there for them. read more

I attended a close friends wedding here in June and although it seemed all was going well, it took a 180 at the reception. Everyone was having a great time till the fire alarm went off at 8pm. The alarm was on for 4 hours. I know because I helped the newlyweds gather their items at the end. Most guests stayed leaving at 9 due to the alarm ringing in their ears. Staff never notified us to leave and it seemed as if it was a normal occurrence. Cops arrived, firemen and even staff members on site couldn't figure out how to stop the alarm. The firemen stated the owner would know how to overwrite. As first responders, they told the couple this was a hazard if there really had been an emergency on site. We were told by the owners the Dj started this. However, the dj clearly had the proper fog liquid he was instructed to use. The AC had turned off before the alarm and fog liquid was used. We are yet to be notified why the AC turned off out of nowhere. Perhaps poor ventilation made this occur? Faulty wiring? We are yet to find out. All I know is if you're considering this place for your special event, personally I wouldn't. But if you are, think twice. For your own sake, ask the worst case scenerios and get their word on writing. This way you won't get blown off like the newlyweds from that day. They received $100 compensation for having 4 hours straight of a fire alarm ringing in their guests ears. Not impressed. read more

Hurst Ranch is a cute little 3 acre blast-from-the-past historical venue with a motto of, "preserve the past, harvest the present, plant seed for the future." I've attended various events at this location, but most recently I attended their historical society fundraiser. Being greeted with champagne as you walk in always puts a smile on my face. My tastebuds love being tickled by the bubbly! There were a variety of foods to sample, beers, wine, and spirits. I tried a taste of the moonshine! The silent auction was pretty neat. They also had blackjack, roulette and craps tables set up for you to try your luck at. I enjoyed the music the most... A live big band playing all of the classics! Benny Goodman would have been pretty pleased, I'm sure. They also had some live bluegrass (or country) music as well. Do not get married here!! They dont own up for their mistakes and refunded us only $100 for the fire alarms going off. They turned off the power to try to get them off and it only turned off the ac and made it hot. Most of my guest left at 10 because of the alarms. Cops came and said its a safety hazard and the firemen should be able to turn them off !! They came and couldnt turn it off because of miwiring at hurst ranch. They couldnt find out how to turn off the alarms because when the owner tried to turn off power it turned off power for other buildings in the venue not the main dance venue!! We spoke to the owner and said we are gonna ask for a discount and he agreed. Cops even said to ask for refund. We reached out to hurst ranch and they continue to ignore us. They mailed us $200 .. $100 is what they owned me from the bar of drinks i didnt drink! $100 is what we got refunded! I told them that it was a safety hazard on yelp and they said we should have evacuated but no one told us anything. The whole time they were trying to figure it out. They are ignoring our calls till this day and blame the dj but even though the firemen and cops said they they should be able to still overwrite it and turn it off and that its not good that this is happening. They ignore my calls. They ignore my emails! The dj used water smoke but it was so hot in their from the ac being off! And yet they still dont want to own up to their mistake and discount us. They are not a good venue at all! Me and my husband were so excited for this day and the alarms ruined our night! Weddings are a big deal and hurst ranch doesnt care about their customers. I'm giving four stars because I absolutely loved the venue. Ryan (who was referred to us in the very beginning stages)was actually leaving the business. We got introduced to his replacement, Donna who was amazing the entire process. She answered all of our questions. Made up for us being stood up on our first tour appointment & she found us the gun room & had everything unlocked for us as requested. The planning process went smooth. The day of: Con: On our very first tour of HR with Donna I brought up the horrible reviews I had read on the security issues. She told me they had recently got a new security company & it shouldn't be a problem. But the day of the security was VERY rude to my guest as if they were prisoners. Searched them & harassed them all night. But did stop to ask my guests to take pictures of them on the premises. I was very displeased with the feedback from my guests. Con: The bar situation was horrible. We did an open bar for our bridal party of 500.00 & the bar was literally done within 20 minutes. Most of my bridal party hadn't even had one drink. The bar ran out of alcohol & it was just a mess. Con: We had brought in bundtinis for our dessert & theres was ants all over them. The ant problem was severe. Pro: The night of coordinator Anna, that was provided by HR was very kind & worked hard & was amazing! Pro: Everything that was discussed beforehand went as planned. At the end of the day, we had the best day! The venue is beautiful & speaks for itself. Other than the ants, security & bar issues it went smooth. I was beyond grateful for Donna & all she did to work with us. Although, bummed they kept some of our deposit after everything that went wrong due to us having to leave our pallet wall because security was yelling at us to leave. Recently had a party here for my grandparents and I am severely disappointed in the Hurst Ranch. -It was hot on the day of the party, over 100 degrees outside and the air conditioning was not blowing cold. For a party with guests over 90 years old, this was AWFUL. -When it's this hot outside, flies want to be indoors-well there were plenty of them because we were told the doors HAD to stay open because they were unable to stay unlocked. What??!! -The staff walked around and literally picked up dishes from people still eating and drinking. Not kidding here, my grandma still had warm coffee in her cup and a staff member took it from her. -We rented the room until 10 and the staff put all the drinks away BEFORE 9. -So expensive for what you get, definitely not worth the 15k+ that was paid for this experience. Had our outdoor ceremony and reception here. The food is amazing! Our day of staff was very helpful. Anna was the best, she even helped me hold my dress when my hired coordinator was nowhere to be found. The venue was beautiful, I knew exactally how I wanted my decorator to set up, and made a detailed list with pics and check list for him. Everything was perfect that day! 9 hr event for 250+ ppl! Pros: Food!!!!!!!!!!! it was beyond amazing, A lot of room for decoration, Outdoor venue and optional rainy day indoor venue. Kids have large area to run and stay off the dance floor space. Great white carts you can use for gifts and cake tables. Great place for photos. Cake was also delicious (lemon cake and cream cheese filling, everyone loved it, even the doubters)! This venue is only 6 mins from my home, so that was another plus! Security was respectful to guest who tried to sneak in alcohol. I never saw a scene or commotion, bottles were returned at the end of the night ( from my understanding) p.s who the hell BYOB's at ppl weddings....my guests -_- so lame. Wedding Arc was provided (someone never picked it up, so we got to use it) Cons: No dance floor outside, no outside aisle if you have your wedding on the gravel or cement, no sound system for ceremony or table, their plastic chairs, absolutely no outside drinks ( which is ok because I didnt want ppl to get out of hand, but they didn't allow us to get a bottle of cristal for our wedding party - my husband hated this) They also added a 18% gratuity fee for our bar tab 1 month before our wedding ( new rule I guess) Donna helped us throughout the process of organizing and payments. There was some lack of communication when it came to capacity. I repeatedly said I hated the inside venue. She kept saying the capacity was for 300+ but when it came to the month of the wedding she said " maximum capacity for the outside area is 250" I was so stressed, I had invited 290 ppl! Thankfully some ppl declined and she helped me work out that issue. Everyone loved my wedding. I get compliments for it at other ppls weddings lol I also had sparklers at my wedding, there was a bit of confusion orgainzing it. & they dont allow this fireworks in West Covina so idk if i'll get my security deposit back OOPPS read more

My first impression was, "Cool and local historic spot for a rustic or ranch style event." We worked with catering company Bashful Butlers to create a unique rustic wedding space for one of our wedding couples. The planning process was simple and easy as the venue worked very closely with Bashful Butlers and they were very accommodating. The sunset photos turned out great and there were some eclectic and unique spaces for the wedding party to take their photos. The food and atmosphere was casual and relaxing and the venue was a great fit for the couples overall style and budget. There is not much on-site parking, however, the accommodations for parking and the venues partnership with surrounding areas and street parking were very easy to follow. (Review is for the place as a wedding venue only) I am surprised to be the first to review this place.... but anyways, I had my wedding here (Sept 1, 2012) and was very happy to have found this place. Hurst Ranch was actually the 17th venue that my husband and I looked at (yea you heard that right, lucky number 17) and it had everything that we both wanted. What is that you wonder? Well only having one event at one time (instead of those venues that have several weddings going on at the exact time, which allows for wedding crashers...I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of random people drinking up all my alcohol and eating up all my food if they are not my guests), an option to have an outdoor ceremony, unique venue (not a fan of the typical cookie cutter wedding in a hotel or a restaurant (sorry if I offended anyone), a place that fit our theme (birds and trees... because they are outdoorsy... I love when things rhyme...), private bridal changing area with separate bathroom (Ladies, that makes a HUGE difference, trust me on this) and being affordable. The venue itself is pretty and has a rustic feel to it. Also has the historical value that really added something to our wedding. The reception hall at this place is large (can accommodate about 200- 400 guests) and very pretty. Love the twinkling lights that drape across the ceiling. Also loved that even during our day reception, we could still have a look and feel of a night time reception with the lighting (there are not too many windows in the reception hall), which is perfect for dancing. There are plenty of clean bathrooms inside the reception hall and outside the grounds. There was also plenty of shade during our 11 am (outdoor) wedding ceremony. Loved our ceremony backdrop and set up that was on the cemented quad (You could have your wedding in the quad area or in other sections around the venue). With a venue as so wonderful as this, you may be wondering why am I deducting 1 star? Well the security company that Hurst Ranch hired (and makes you pay for, as part of your contract with them) for our event sent over a horrible woman on our wedding day. She was very rude and would not allow our guests to come into the venue until 11 am, supposed policy from Hurst Ranch. However, we had our banquet chair (Sole caterer of Hurst Ranch, Bashful Butler) take care of it right away. This security guard also harassed our guests by going through their bags to make sure that they did not bring any alcohol onto the venue. This is not a big deal for our guests to have their bags searched if outside alcohol is brought onto the site (because they are not allowed to), however, this security guard failed to explain what she was doing and why (many of our guests told us they had no idea why they were being searched and did not like the guard's demeanor... it's a wedding, the mood should be happy and filled with joy). Lastly, we brought our own bottled water and had it displayed in large buckets with plenty of ice to keep it nice and cool and available for our guests during our ceremony since it was a bit hot. Sometime during our outdoor cocktail hour, my husband walked over to pick up a bottle of water and the security guard had the nerve to take the very last one and drink it herself (she could have easily asked the caterer company for a glass of water instead of drinking our water)... can you say rude? Honestly, our guests never got out of hand and the security guard felt more to us like a rude wedding crasher. But other than that horrible security guard, my husband and I had the wedding of our dreams with beautiful pictures and memories for years to come. read more

My niece was married here recently. The facility itself was only fine and thankfully the wedding turned out wonderfully! Two main issues! 1. WiFi not working so bar gave estimated tabs if we could pay in cash. Probably ended up being a deal for us, but seriously!?!?! Not a way to run a business! All of us were flabbergast that they could not run our cards and provide bar tabs. 2. While the pictures with all of the dining room venue lights look wonderful about 35-40% of them are not working! We are talking 2-3 entire strands next to one another completely nonfunctional! Looks cheap and is inexcusable in my opinion. I would have a hard time recommending this venue to anyone unless they really made a better effort. In addition, they were not thorough and clear on my niece's contract and she was disappointed with two major items that she thought had been written in and included and were not. Partially her mistake yes, most definitely. But to say that for one of the items they could not purchase supplies and offer two signature cocktails 48 hours before the event was very disappointing for them as they were certain they had notified the venue that it was to be included in their contract. Again, partially her fault. Overall, a fairly disappointing experience and hopefully they will step up their game or I would anticipate people to book elsewhere for their events. Outside vendors were fine, caterer, DJ and photographer; all issues seemed to be with the facility itself. read more

Hurst Ranch is this cute little kept secret in West Covina! They have a beautiful outdoor shaded area for guests under the trees and lots of space to walk around. Cute rustic feel to it to take amazing photos. Few limited parking spots at venue but ample street parking. There is also an indoor venue that can hold more guests! Our experience with Hurst Ranch/Bashful Butler was phenomenal from the start. I contacted Ryan via email with less than 24 hours notice and limited availability for an opportunity to view the property. He was incredibly accommodating by arriving early to meet with us before his first appointment being booked solid for the day. After seeing the facility and reviewing the pricing, we took the leap and left plan A completely. We started the planning process and Ryan was quick to answer every question sent his way. We always had a question for him. Ryan was polite and professional. If he didn't know the answer (rarely the case), he found out for us very quickly. Hurst Ranch itself has amazing potential. The framework is all there and your event can either use that or change it all up. We decided to do a little of both since there were things that we really liked and others we didn't. Pros: - Ryan and Harrison (night manager) were phenomenal! -The catering staff was friendly -The grounds were kept clean and organized -The historic feel is what we loved most -Ease of planning process and working with the staff to make our special day perfect -Prices (seriously- it's unreal how reasonable this place is) Cons: - My husband found the catering staff eating cake before we even had a piece :( - Parking was a little tough (worth mentioning but not terrible) - Communication between the historical society and The Bashful Butler is worth mentioning. Long story short- we were supposed to have barn doors as our ceremony backdrop but the historical society decided to drill them to the wall somewhere inside instead. -The mess of lights dead center inside the reception area. **The cons were so small in comparison to the grand scheme of things. The only thing that really bothered me was the fact that the cake was taken away to be cut and there were staff members eating cake before myself or my husband had any. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It's nestled away from the busy areas and it's a gorgeous property clearly well looked after. Everyone from the time we arrived for our first meeting to when we left after the wedding were courteous and attentive. The prices are UNREAL. Everything near our house was way over budget. We were able to have our dream wedding and a wonderful honeymoon because of their prices. Both catering and event management play well with others- we brought in A LOT of people they aren't used to working with and everyone felt comfortable and happy. HUGE props to Ryan and Harrison- they worked SO hard for our wedding and were accommodating for every whim we could think up. read more

Well to start off. Bashful Butler was wonderful, Donna answered everything and tried her best to accommodate us. The day of the event they had everything ready, from the tables to the food and the bar. My wedding coordinator was very pleased with them. When we showed up I met the on site supervisor and she was very helpful. Everything worked, everything was wonderful. My guest were very pleased with the place. We used outside for the reception to enjoy a nice summer night in June. I highly recommend this place and Bashful Butler. Thank you guys very much! read more

I had the opportunity of working at Hurst Ranch recently and loved my time there with Donna Malone. For the price point you cant go wrong. It is a gorgeous space with a lot of history. It is perfect for that charro quinceanera or rustic wedding. There are so many cute photo opps around the property. Highly recommended. read more

This venue was an awful experience. I went here for a wedding, which was lovely but the event planner was awful. Right after the ceremony they had everyone wait before going inside the venue. They started picking up all the chairs leaving no seats for the older people, leaving them to stand. After dinner was severed the fire alarm started going off and no one knew how to turn it off. Police and fire department came out and the majority of the wedding was ruin due to this fire alarm. Which was never turned off even after we left the venue. The bartender kept a disappearing. I would not book this venue. read more

My event was planned for a year for September 9,2022. The day was hot at 97 degrees. I was suppose to go at 2:30 in the afternoon to decorate my tables for a 4:30 party start time. I requested a morning set up which I got. If I did not go to Hurst Ranch Friday morning at 9:30 and deliver my centerpieces and ask Hancy when the air condition was to be turned on I would not have known that there would be no air for my party at 4:30. She told me the air conditioner was broke and that they would be working on it around 2:30 in the afternoon for a party at 4:30. My guest would have arrived and entered into an overheated room. Not acceptable by any means. When was I going to be told of this problem? If I would have gone to HR at 2:30 which was my original time to Drop off my centerpieces for the table there would have been no time for me too cancel or rearrange things for my party for my guest. Then I was told that maybe one of the units would be fixed but I had to keep the door shut because the air condition would be limited in the room. So I guess my guest we're supposed to just sit there like zombies and not move around or dance or have a good time again not acceptable. So lets talk about the stress that I was put under that whole day I was so upset not knowing what to do to salvage my party that I had been planning for a year. I was finally told at about 2 PM of Plan B to move to Azuza women's club which I agreed to so I started calling my guest and texting them then I get another call from Hancy that they were still going to try and have the event at Hurst Ranch. At that point I exploded and said absolutely not so she called me back again after 15 minutes and said yes it would be moved to the woman's club so again I started calling my guest at 2 hours before my start time. Me trying to get ready and having to call and text my guess was so stressful and unfair. I have been at many functions at Hearst Ranch with Rotary and knew that was where I wanted to have my 80th birthday party to enjoy the beautiful outside and then have my guest inside to celebrate with me. That did not happen. That experience was taken away from me and my guests. I feel something should be done to compensate my trauma and stress and inconvenience. The evening did turn out OK at the woman's club which I am grateful for. Please forward to Elmer or whoever should be responsible. This letter was sent to two people one person on the board and Hancy on September 11 and September 12. Today is the 18th of September with no response from anyone. No apology or acknowledgment of my letter. Shameful on the part of Hurst Ranch management. No one has taken responsibility. They knew the day and week before that there was trouble with the two air condition unites. All they had to do was advise me the day before the party instead of 2 hours before the party. I actually was part of the team that provided up lighting, dance lighting, dee jay service and emcee service to a very nice couple David and Claudia who celebrated their wedding on September 20, 2019. Right from the onset I found this facility wonderful to work with. It all began unofficially with a phone call which I discovered the owner took (accepted). He was so helpful and put me in contact with Elmer the site manager and Donna the catering director. I've had the opportunity to do quite a few weddings during my career and I must say that this venue is beautiful. Everyone was great to work with. The security guy working the lot was super nice. The Bashful Butler Staff so very professional! The food was amazing! I'd encourage any couple planning a wedding to definitely consider Hurst Ranch! read more

If you're looking for a rustic Barn venue this is your place you don't have to drive out to Corona or Ontario to get the atmosphere you can stay in West Covina the only thing is a parking but if you can pass that it's a great place to have your wedding reception staff was great and even Donna the wedding coordinator was very helpful had a couple of hiccups along the way but nothing major they worked it out beautiful grounds to take pictures of the bride and groom read more
