They said they would also charge me a $250 diagnostic fee. I called Japanese Autoworks and Chris quoted me $75 for the diagnosis. I had my car towed to them after they closed, and they fixed it literally THE NEXT DAY - they fit me in after a cancellation. Kate was extremely helpful on the phone and explained everything they were doing and walked me through the pricing. They replaced my hose with an aluminum hose so that the rubber part wouldn't fail and the same thing wouldn't happen. They did my oil change & I will be taking my car back soon for them to look at my AC. I picked this shop based on reviews, and I felt it only fair to talk about my experience as someone who isn't a car guy and has a hard time picking mechanics other than a dealership. Probably the best shop I've taken my car to.

My Audi A4 had gotten to the point where it sounded like it was ready to fall apart. I had previously taken it to the dealership and was quoted over $1,500 to replace my left wheel bearing. Because I simply wasn't in a position to spend thousands of dollars on a repair right now, I had tried going another route with a mobile mechanic--and unfortunately ended up getting ripped off in the process. Needless to say, by the time I came to NRH Auto, I was frustrated and honestly a little apprehensive about trusting another mechanic. When I arrived, I spoke with one of the owner's sons. He took the time to look up the part and put together a quote for the repair. The initial amount was still a little outside of what I could comfortably afford, so I simply asked if there was anything they could do to work with me. And they did. They were able to get my repair done for about half of what the dealership had quoted me, and there was no sacrificing the level of service. My car was completed in approximately 2 1/2 hours, and they even dropped me off at my home nearby and picked me back up when my car was ready. What stood out to me most was how I was treated. I never felt pressured, taken advantage of, or like they were trying to add unnecessary repairs. They listened, worked with me, and got the job done. After dealing with a dealership quote I couldn't afford and then being taken advantage of by someone else, I think I've finally found an honest, skilled, and reasonably priced mechanic shop that I can trust with my Audi A4. A year later and I will say they stood by their warranty up to a certain point. I did have to take…read moremy Yukon back to them several times be it for transmission fluid leaks, dipstick tube loose and leaking, chattering/transmission vibrations. All were repaired at no charge although it did seem like warranty work was not there priority, every time I had to bring it back to their shop they would have it for over a week. And trying to get a hold of Daniel was nearly impossible, he's never at the shop, and when you are lucky enough to get him to answer the phone he was just promise to call you right back in 5 minutes, only 5 minutes will turn into 5 days. My final draw with this shop is when I brought it back to them because the transmission would not shift into 3rd gear. Daniel told me it sounds like the clutch drum is probably cracked and that it is a common problem with my transmission. When I asked if that is covered under warranty he said it is not because it is not a part that is replaced with a rebuild kit. Which is true most shops at best will inspect it and test the pressure at best when rebuilding. Mind you from the time I brought it back to finding this out about the drum he had the truck for 4 days and supposedly hooked up the computer and took fluid samples to tell me he thinks it's the drum, he had not dropped the transmission, in order to find out for sure if it was the drum Daniel wanted me to pay $2600 up front to drop the transmission. Which is how much I paid for him to rebuild it. When I asked Daniel what if it's not the drum and it's something under warranty I still have to pay $2600 he said we can work something out. Never before have I ever heard of having to pay upfront for a repair that may or may not be covered under warranty because the mechanic doesn't even know what part has failed. At this point I decided to take it to another shop because once I pay the money you can tell me whatever you want failed and it's not covered by the warranty and now I'm out the money. So I decided to have my truck towed to another shop that was recommended by my daughter that rebuilt her transmission 2 years ago and hasn't had issues since. They rebuilt it for less than what Daniel wanted to drop my transmission for to tell me if it was the drum or not. I told them how Daniel thinks it's the drum without even seeing it, and if it was the drum to replace it. Well it wasn't the drum, the tech took it for a test drive and said he didn't think it was a drum, he dropped the trans and found the 3rd and 4th gear clutch plates were burnt up and the drum was fine. Those clutch plates were part of the rebuild done by Kings Automotive and were covered under there warranty but obviously they did not want to drop the transmission open it back up to find out without being paid up front. Like I said they will take care of the nickel and dime repairs they can do with out dropping the trans. But if it's something internal good luck they will want the money up front at that point good luck. And if it's warranty work plan on being without your vehicle for at least a week if you're lucky. Save yourself the money and headache and go elsewhere especially if it's transmission related

I believe they just mickey mouse fix things and scam people their money. I've never had to go back to auto shop more than once within 1 month like I did dealing with adam's.

How can I even be sure I got synthetic oil if I can't trust the filter to be changed.
