There's a vintage area with tons of old, vintage papers, photographs, sheet music, postcards, photo albums, negatives, etc. Loads of scrap fabric and remnants, yarn, embroidery floss, notions, scrap paper, scrapbooking materials, stickers, stencils, even industrial supplies like foam scraps, and household materials like pill bottles (empty of course), lids, jars, storage containers, craft kits, old calendars, big bins of wine corks, pens, etc. They have a HUGE selection of old National Geographic issues, some going back as far as the 1930s. Perfect for collages or collecting. They also have a few machines like scales, microscopes, sewing machines, etc. As well as a few tools, wood and metal working items, just bits and bobs of tons of things to sort through. It changes all the time so stop in regularly to see what they get in! And the best part? It's all SO cheap and keeps all these things out of landfills (56K lbs just last year)! Upcycling FTW! Some things are in better condition than others but if you're the creative type you will be inspired by all you can find here. The selection of the items I wanted was decent enough (Monroe usually has a better selection but I was in the area) and the shelves for the middle were pushed so close to the end caps you couldn't fit a cart through there without lifting the back end up and over. During checkout the cashier was super nice however the older lady was once again rude.

This was my first time in a bead store, so if it's your first time too, here are a couple of things that are good to know: Everything is sorted by style and size. I made the mistake of getting two different colors of beads made from the same material but in slightly different sizes. Oops! The strands of beads are all on clips. Each strand is separate. You can either take the entire clip up to the register or remove just the strand you want. If something doesn't have a price, Kim will check it for you if she doesn't already know it. She really knows her inventory, though, so don't worry! I would recommend having at least a general idea of what you're looking for because it would be very easy to get overwhelmed by all the options. Even though the store seems small, there is SO much to look at! Take your time, relax, and enjoy browsing. I had such a fun time and will definitely be back!

The owner was very helpful (I was there multiple times as kept going back for more things for my projects) - I was making pearl and leather necklaces as gifts and they had a very nice selection of the leather and some large drilled pearls- plus the owner showed me a better way to make the knots for my project so they look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself! They offer classes and had a nice selection of beads and findings, as well as examples of finished projects that are inspirational and aspirational- I will definitely be back! The lady who helped me find the correct matts was very helpful, but I was totally surprised when she said it probably wouldn't be cut until the next day since she was working by herself. Okay, no problem, I can come back tomorrow to pick it up, right? Wrong! I have called every day since, and it still has not been cut. Either no one is working, or they don't come in until 5 o'clock, or they went home sick, or they say maybe tomorrow, they will have someone call me. I heard that twice now, and not once has my phone rang. I strongly suggest going elsewhere. When they open today, I will be calling to see if it is finished. She said that a lot of crazy quilters come to her for beads. Crazy quilting uses a lot of embroidery and embellishments such as beads and charms, with the patterns of the fabric providing background interest. She told me that I could bring my bracelet repair project and work on it there, to get advice, because she knows so much more about beading than I do, and also in case I just need a few beads to finish.
