My daughter particularly enjoys the stuffed toys and puppets. I enjoy the atmosphere and fun crowd. The music is great and so is the food. They have one of the best funnel cake trucks with amazing fried Oreos, sooo good!!! Treat Dreams has an ice cream truck with their famous flavors. The ice cream cookies are the absolute best!!! They have an eclectic variety of food trucks that look and smell mouthwatering. But they could use more seating, it's very limited compared to the amount of people eating the goodies. I love the adult beverages available to purchase through tickets. They have a ginormous variety of beer and mixed drinks, plus some of the money goes toward different charities and good causes. It's ten tickets for $20, but this year I noticed you may purchase individual tickets. I prefer this option! Tickets are $2 a piece, so most beers cost around $6 or three tickets. I got the Griffinclaw pumpkin beer. It was amazing! Very pumpkin forward with a nice spice aftertaste. Most of the mixed drinks are between three and four tickets, cheaper than most bars. I've even seen some for two tickets. The parking can be challenging. We were able to find a good spot and only paid $3.00. But I wonder if it gets more challenging in the evening hours. I bet this a fun time at night. This is a great event when paired with the Funky Ferndale fair. I look forward to next year.

This is another gem in metro Detroit that I can't believe I haven't reviewed before. The Royal Oak…read moreMusic Theatre is a long-standing pillar within the community, located just a few blocks off of Main Street in downtown Royal Oak. This theatre is a great, smaller-scale theatre that will attract lower key artists and concerts than those that would come to Detroit. I would equate the Royal Oak Music Theatre to a step down from The Fillmore in Detroit, but also a step up from St. Andrew's Hall also in Detroit. The Royal Oak Music Theatre certainly has not gone through any noticeable updates throughout the years it has been in business, which seems like several several decades now. So it definitely shows signs of wear and just feels a tad outdated, but not quite rundown. But it's still such a solid venue and is in a much better, less trafficked city than Detroit that allows coming and going to and from shows here a lot less of a headache. There is tons of parking options surrounding the theatre in the parking lots throughout downtown Royal Oak and on the side street parking as well. There are also a ton of delicious restaurants and bars easily within walking distance for you to grab a bite or a drink before and after your show, along with doing some shopping as well! It's truly a delightful experience every time I come to Royal Oak Music Theatre!

Food is ok, my friend has been here years ago and he said the food use to me so delicious but now it's not. There was no season on the fried and strong taste of vinegar in the cabbage. The live music was very good and relaxing to us. The environment was was great. One of the entertainers has worked with Aretha Franklin in previous years. This lounge has been open for 91 years. The music part is the best. Lastly, it is highly priced. $25 per person to attend, food price and high cocktail price. I really want to come back again for the wonderful music entertainment.

I looked at their website and was happy to find a jazz band with a bassist (every Sunday night according to the website). I'd even looked at YouTube videos of the bassist and he was just what we wanted. My group of 12 made plans and went. To our dismay the band was different from that advertised on their site. Don't get me wrong, they were good but they played contemporary music and my group of older ones (55-85 yo) was looking for Jazz. That was disappointing. Second, the food. It was just ok. Several had the smothered pork chops and all said they were too salty. The whole wings were pretty good, seasoned and fried well. The other meals were hit or miss. The decor hasn't changed, ever! But that may be part of its vibe. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Still, I think we'll look for a different Jazz spot going forward.
