Tracy and Todd and the rest of the staff at the Meeting House made the entire experience so incredibly enjoyable. From the first meeting to the final exit Tracy and Todd were - friendly, respectful, helpful, attentive, responsive and incredibly kind to say the least. They fielded phone calls, emails and many may questions from myself, and parents of the bride and groom. The food was incredible, the service was outstanding the venue was beautiful. It exceeded every expectation and with much help from the entire staff at the Meeting House my wedding was as cliche as it sounds. The best day of our lives! The space was incredibly large and laid out in a very cool way, the high ceilings and wood floods with grand piano and fire place made it such cozy, beautiful venue for our wedding day! I would recommend the Meeting House to anyone looking for a venue in the metro Detroit area. - Happy Bride! :-)

Luckily decor was much better when we reached our party room destination. Travelling apps were not terribly impressive but still tastyish. The bacon wrapped chicken on a skewer was ginormous. Awkward to eat. Tasted the best of the three though. The crabcakes were miniscule and mostly breading. My husband seemed unimpressed with the shrimp. The salads were simply dressed with no option but with what I guess could be called vinaigrette if I were being generous. The rolls were very grainy and not my thing. My salmon would have been terrific if it had been fresh. It was a huge portion but cold and the sauce had congealed. I liked the roasted potatoes and the veggies but again, cold. My husbands sliced steak concoction was at least warm and it was super tender. It was also well beyond a generous portion. He disliked the sauce though. The bar staff did well. We avoided the pitchers of flat beer and bad merlot, which helped. The mixed drinks were stellar. My Tito's and soda with a wee splash of cran and a lime were perfect. My husbands tequila and pineapple was also delish. Dessert was as good as the alcohol. Fantastic apple spice cake with cream cheese and caramel and a creamy chocolate pie. Yum. It was just typical wedding to me. I would never choose it myself.

This American Legion Hall has been in business for 89 years…read more It is used by Members or Rented by other guests for Club Meetings, Bridal & Baby Showers, Weddings, Funeral Luncheons either Daily or on Weekends. On Saturday August 7th, I attended a Memorial Luncheon here for a deceased family member along with others such as friends, neighbors and I was very pleased to observe the employees working for the celebration of life meal from start to finish. Employee Kathy in uniform not only served at the bar of mixed drinks, beer, wine and pop but she also helped served at the buffet of delicious Polish food. After lunch she maintained the round tables of 10 with a few staff employees to remove plates for clean up. A group of polite and dedicated hall staff. The prepared foods were cooked special in the early morning hours, then to keep hot and served with perfection and very delicious in flavor. No complaints at all from myself or the 85 guests in attendance about this hall or staff from the hours of 12pm to 4pm. My photos of the home cooked food and two strudels for dessert shows the hard work, talent of the staff here at the American Legion Hall. All employees were also very welcoming as well! There is also a bar near the lobby and restrooms before entering the hall for Legion members to use when open and to enjoy a drink and catch up in conversation with other friends that are retired or inactive. This Hall is located Near I-96 Freeway - Jeffries. The cross streets are W. Warren Avenue and Military St. is off of Waverly. There was plenty of ample parking for the family memorial luncheon too.

When she returned with the beverages, she took our order, along with bringing us a plate of bread, hummus, that was so creamy and silky smooth and pickled cabbage with peppercorns. We ordered the combo for two, since it offered a variety of meats cooked in a few different ways, sauces and salad. The salad would definitely rival Olive Garden in the amount they bring you, but much more tomatoes. It was fresh and crispy. When the platter of food was delivered, it was a sight to see! Piled high with different meats, onions, and hidden beneath it all, the rice! It all tasted great! We ended up bringing most of it home. We definitely had our fill. And there was so much left over! She was sold on the place and Shai's pleasant attitude and willingness to work with her and her fiancée's vision for the reception. Her reception was delayed due to covid, Shai left, and she had to work with new management/coordinator (Steve). Steve made it known that he did not like working wedding receptions and seemed to blame Shai that there were wedding receptions in the facility. He mentioned this to me as we were setting up the day before our daughter's big day. I had an inkling prior to the day that he was not going to be pleasant to work with based on conversations my daughter had with him to confirm everything. She was disappointed he replaced Shai. She was told she could not do this or that (no potted plants on the floor, no lighting effects on walls - she had to hire someone else to do this) and they had already taken their $5000 deposit. The venue offers use of rectangular tables, but my daughter wanted to have both round and rectangular, so she rented additional round tables. As we started to set up the tables, I asked him where the rest of the rectangular tables were because he only had 5 on a cart ready for set up. He proceeded to tell me he didn't know how many were needed, he said he wasn't told. I responded back, what do you mean you weren't told, you provided the layout on pdf that my daughter shared with the rest of us to use for set up! We, not him, then had to get the rest of the tables from the kitchen area after he told us where to get them. Another uncalled for frustration was table rental pick up. Steve told my daughter that the tables and chairs had to be removed from the floor after party and set aside in the pick up area so the table/chair rental folks could pick them up the following Sunday morning. This was fine, my daughter made arrangements to hire a cleanup team to do this. Two days before the event, the table/chair rental company called Steve to confirm drop off and pick up, Steve then tells the table/chair rental company that they had to pick up the tables and chairs Saturday night. Hello Steve! The wedding reception contract was from 5pm Saturday - 12 midnight! So had to deal with this. There were many little things, no effort at all was made by him to offer information. Our daughter's wedding coordinator was not happy with his lack of effort to help. Luckily, everything fell into place and the celebration was a success. The venue is unique and has so much potential. But there were just so many negative comments made by him that it is not worth to time and energy to have to deal with.He was not helpful, not conscientious, had bad attitude. Lazy. Too bad because the venue is really awesome and he represents the place.
