Venue was nice. New owners/management very rude and too pushy.

This was to be an idealic location for a family celebration. I made the reservation, signed the…read morecontract and made the initial deposit well ahead of date planned. Final payments followed. However, a family member needed hospitalization and surgery right before our date to use the chapel. I notified the owners a month before the date. They informed me that I wasn't going to receive any reimbursement for our cancellation. There was nothing on the contract that stated losing all the dollars paid if a cancellation had to be placed, especially for a matter of medical reasons. I could have understood losing the initial deposit and some of the balance on a prorated level. All they offered was to reschedule the date. But, since it was an anniversary celebration, that was not possible. They were completely unyielding and unsympathetic to our case. If you consider this venue, I would recommend you checking to see if they added amendments to the contract due to our case, These owners are completely selfish and uncompromising. This is not a way to treat customers as you start a new business.

This is such an adorable chapel. I used it this year for my small intimate wedding. The coordinator…read morehelped with anything needed the day of and on your practice day. She has helpful advice too when needed. It was a beautiful spot for a ceremony and photos. You get it for two hours which is plenty. The outside is great too for photos and it was nice that your in downtown Howell. Great location and overall beautiful for weddings during this pandemic. Also has a ton of decor you can use which is helpful.

From the very beginning, they were incredibly kind, friendly, and easy to work with. They took care of every single detail so thoroughly that they made it so easy and I didn't have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding. The ceremony turned out absolutely perfect, and I'm so grateful to Maria and Alyssa for making it such a peaceful, joyful experience. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with a team that truly cares, I wholeheartedly recommend the White House Wedding Chapel.

Maria, Alyssa & Courtney were all so amazing in helping to make our small wedding dreams become a beautiful reality last Saturday! Everything was SO beautiful, from the grounds outside, to the grooms room, to the bridal rooms, to the chapel. We didn't need any decorations in the chapel because it was so beautifully & elegantly decorated. The chapel is beautiful for pictures and the staircase makes for a grand entrance! The grounds are a beautiful place if you want stunning pictures! The minister was wonderful! Everyone was so professional & everything went exactly as I had imagined & dreamed that it would! Anne Marie was so sweet abs super helpful. She helped ease my moms nerves and Tom the preacher was amazing and light hearted and did a beautiful scripture. It is a very classic and timeless chapel that reminds me of growing up in my grandmas church. They have a ton of stuff to help with decorations and the basement, although we didn't use it for the reception bc there wasn't one, was gorgeous! Very very happy with it all!

We had to postpone our Wedding due to the pandemic which caused us to have to find a new venue. The minute I called Anne Marie she was ready to help. She helped us plan our new Wedding with only 2 months left till our day. She took our romantic, elegant vision we have had the past 2 years and made it come to life at her Chapel. What made our day even more special was that I got to say "I do" to my Groom in the same church my parents said "I do" 34 years ago and also the church I grew up going to with my parents and grandparents. We have been through so much with planning a wedding during a pandemic but the second we decided to change our Venue to Oakwood Chapel our anxiety and stress simply was gone because of the way we were treated by Anne Marie. Everything about our Wedding day was magical and would not have happened without Anne Marie and her team. We are forever grateful

Tracy and Todd and the rest of the staff at the Meeting House made the entire experience so incredibly enjoyable. From the first meeting to the final exit Tracy and Todd were - friendly, respectful, helpful, attentive, responsive and incredibly kind to say the least. They fielded phone calls, emails and many may questions from myself, and parents of the bride and groom. The food was incredible, the service was outstanding the venue was beautiful. It exceeded every expectation and with much help from the entire staff at the Meeting House my wedding was as cliche as it sounds. The best day of our lives! The space was incredibly large and laid out in a very cool way, the high ceilings and wood floods with grand piano and fire place made it such cozy, beautiful venue for our wedding day! I would recommend the Meeting House to anyone looking for a venue in the metro Detroit area. - Happy Bride! :-)

Meh. We went for my…read morehusbands holiday party. It was just not glam. A rickety tiny elevator ride up with tacky sheets as decor. It about summed up the experience. Luckily decor was much better when we reached our party room destination. Travelling apps were not terribly impressive but still tastyish. The bacon wrapped chicken on a skewer was ginormous. Awkward to eat. Tasted the best of the three though. The crabcakes were miniscule and mostly breading. My husband seemed unimpressed with the shrimp. The salads were simply dressed with no option but with what I guess could be called vinaigrette if I were being generous. The rolls were very grainy and not my thing. My salmon would have been terrific if it had been fresh. It was a huge portion but cold and the sauce had congealed. I liked the roasted potatoes and the veggies but again, cold. My husbands sliced steak concoction was at least warm and it was super tender. It was also well beyond a generous portion. He disliked the sauce though. The bar staff did well. We avoided the pitchers of flat beer and bad merlot, which helped. The mixed drinks were stellar. My Tito's and soda with a wee splash of cran and a lime were perfect. My husbands tequila and pineapple was also delish. Dessert was as good as the alcohol. Fantastic apple spice cake with cream cheese and caramel and a creamy chocolate pie. Yum. It was just typical wedding to me. I would never choose it myself.

I could visibly see my bride and mothers shoulders relax after meeting Mary for the first time, a few weeks before the wedding. Mary had all sorts of supplies we could use (all for free) and really knew her stuff. During our rehearsal, Mary instructed everyone to come to her on the day of the wedding. Not me (the groom), not my mother, not the bride, but her. She played the QB and handled everything. Guys, and girls, in a world where couples getting married are nickled and dimed for every little thing, this place is the opposite. Never once did Mary say something like "Sure, we can do that for an extra fee". Everything was "Oh sure, here's what I have, what do you think?" You can tell both Chris and Mary really enjoy their work. I have nothing but glowing comments to say about them and their facility. I would recommend them a hundred times over if I could. Go with them and their facility, you won't regret it.
